from Tripadvisor: We only stayed 2 nights at Casa Zorzi, and used it as a base to go to visit Venice. Arrigo (who is actually Venetian) was incredibly helpful, and gave us a huge amount of advice on how to get the direct train into the centre of Venice, and how best to spend our time there to see as much of the city as we could and avoid the crowds. His advice definitely made our visit far better, and he even lent us one of his books on Venice to help us have the best time possible. The apartment was very comfortable, and right in the middle of a beautiful medieval village, which made it a perfect place to go back to and relax, and Arrigo's wife has a great osteria just a few steps from the front door, which made for very convenient dinner every night! Grazie mille Arrigo, I hope very much to come back!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

from Tripadvisor : We had a wonderful week at Casa Zorzi. Arqua Petrarca is beautiful and the surrounding area offers an enormous range of things to do within a short drive of the village. A breakfast of fresh bread and pastries from the village bakery, eaten in the carefully-tended garden, was a great way to start the day and returning to the apartment was always a joy – comfortable, welcoming, tasteful and well-equipped, it was a brilliant home-from-home. However it was our host, Arrigo, who made our stay even more special. From the welcoming spritz on our arrival to the little parcel of things we’d left behind which he so kindly posted on, he was wonderful. His excellent English helped, but he was knowledgeable and entertaining and tailored his recommendations to our tastes perfectly. We will undoubtedly return to the Euganean Hills, and Casa Zorzi would be our first choice!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

A charming very comfortable apartment with a small garden where we shared each day's experiences with other like minded guests. Our host Arrigo was simply the best, providing assistance as required and giving us excellent sightseeing advice without being intrusive. We had a week here and did day trips to Verona, Vicenza, Venice, Padova, Bassano and local historic towns. Although I would recommend having a car there is an excellent train service from nearby Monselice which I also recommend for shopping, supermarket etc. The village is located in beautiful countryside. There are a number of restaurants in the village however my favourite was Nina's osteria. The food is excellent as is the service. Follow Nina's advice (she has an excellent palette) and you can taste some remarkably good local wines by the glass. It was fantastic. Very highly recommend the apartment and osteria. We actually felt as though we were staying with long time friends.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing.
Owner response: Dear Harry & Julie, you too have been very nice guests. After one week, on your departure, we really felt the same long time friendship. We hope to meet you again someday, somewhere!

Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

from Tripavisor:We checked out of Casa Zorzi today, after a 5day stay in apartment Rosea. The memories will stay with us for a long time. The apartment was "old world" Italy, with shutters, crisp white linen window curtains, an iron bed (but with comfortable mattress), timber furniture, a comfy chinz upholstered couch, and wooden beams on the ceiling. We usually look for contemporary decor but we really enjoyed the ambience of this apartment....it's style was romantic and it complemented the beautiful location of Arqua Petrarca perfectly. Very comfortable, with all the amenities for an extended stay. Our host Arrigo was very hospitable, and very helpful with tips on where to go, what to do, and what to avoid. As for the village, and the area...in a word, magic! We have seen a lot of Italy over the years and thought small villages, steeped in history, and retaining some semblance of their medieval roots, no longer existed.....until we found Arqua and other villages in this region. There is no onsite parking but there is free parking nearby. No wifi, but Arrigos nearby Osteria has wifi and he makes it available to guestsDid you find this review helpful? from Tripadvisor:When we first arrived at Arqua Petrarca, we were amazed by it's simple elegance; the ash-grey cobbled streets, the flowers that were blooming everywhere you looked, and the pure, fragrant air. These were all such a treat to the senses, that it wasn't hard to imagine Petrach's inspiration. We stayed at a delightful apartment which in our opinion, captured the essence of Northern Italy in it's whitewashed walls, high beds and beautiful antique furniture. Every corner of the house was designed with a lot of style, and a lot of attention had been given to the exquisite crockery and to the beautiful artwork on the walls. Everything was provided for, and we felt completely at home. Arqua Petrarca is a lovely town not only to visit (it has Petrarch's house, some amazing trekking paths, and the outstanding Osteria al Guerriero for Italian food typical of the region) but also as a base if you want a trip that also covers Venice, Verona, Padua and the nearby islands. The train station is very close to Casa Zorzi. This holiday was made all the more special by the immense care and help offered at all moments by Arrigo, who not only made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed, but also spent a lot of time with us, giving us practical advice for sightseeing, without which we would not have been able to obtain as much from the trip! He and his wife, Nina were extremely hospitable and friendly, and that made all the difference! This was a wonderful stay, and we will definitely return!Did you find this review helpful? from Tripadvisor:We stayed at Casa Zorzi for four days in late April with our four-year-old. It was a very good choice. The apartment is in the middle of Arquà Petrarca, which though not large is a friendly charming town near beautiful hills and not far from Padova. We stayed in the 1-bedroom Iris Suite, which was spacious and extremely clean. Arrigo was extraordinarily helpful from our very first email contact and throughout our stay -- repeatedly doing more than he had to, to ensure we had a pleasant stay (to name three examples--he helped translate at the pharmacy when we needed medication for our son, he emailed us after our departure with a dinner recommendation in Venice, and he even helped us park our car on the challenging hilly streets of Arquà). For this, the cost of 106 euros a night was very, very reasonable. The only drawback was the beds, which were a little soft for our taste. Otherwise, we very much enjoyed our stay and would gladly return in the future. Note that Casa Zorzi only takes cash, so keep this in mind before departing.Did you find this review helpful? We would thoroughly recommend the Casa Zorzi experience. This comprised a comfortably furnished apartment with views over the vilalge and surrounding hills, within a private garden; a local osteria managed by the owner's family which provided excellent food in a friendly atmosphere; Arrigo Zorzi's comprehensive knowledge of all events and places both locally and throughout the Veneto region. Arrigo was most attentive to our interests and ensured that our first visit to Italy was truly memorable > A - Z service for the complete holiday! We found the location ideal - walks and many interesting villages/towns (particularly Este) in the surrounding hills, and convenient for Padua, Venice and for us a day trip to Lake Garda. We intend to return to see the region in the Spring.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
