If you are looking for somewhere you can completely relax, in sophisticated, extremely comfortable surroundings, then look no further than 'The Palm'. At the end of a hot & busy day golfing,visiting the Theme Parks, or shopping, just imagine retreating to this luxurious and exclusive Golf & Country Club home. Kick off your shoes, pour a cold beer.
Chill out by your totally private pool, listen to a CD, then maybe later have a cook-out on the electric BBQ/Grill. You can check your e-mails in peace out on the pool deck if you wish, with your lap-top and the wireless internet ..........and then before bed, what could be nicer than a soak in the Jacuzzi hot tub gazing up at the stars? The sheltered, south-facing outdoor living area is truly private so no curious neighbours can spy on your sun-bathing/swimming activities....this vacation home really is a little piece of paradise!
"The Palm" is all on one level, so no stairs to worry the elderly or very young. One of the largest 4 bedroom vacation homes you can rent in the Orlando area (2500 sq ft), it benefits from two totally self-contained master bedroom suites and is of a unique design and layout. It was originally built as a private home, so it has custom finishes and many upgrades unusual in a vacation rental. "The Palm" has been expensively furnished and equipped from new - and unlike many of the Florida pool homes, enjoys a COMPLETELY private swimming pool & Jacuzzi hot tub with an extra-large South-facing sunbathing and al fresco dining area in a sheltered courtyard setting.
The south-facing pool gets the sun all day. Electric pool heating is available if required (recommended during October - April). We have installed a (removable) pool security fence for your peace of mind if you have young children playing around the pool area.
We have furnished the pool area as an extra outside living room - there is a full-sized dining table, and lots of luxury padded loungers and armchairs plus another small round table. Plants, ceiling fans, the built-in electric barbeque/grill, music speakers and adjustable atmospheric lighting will all add to your outdoor living enjoyment.
The west facing rear of the house overlooks the Golf Course (16th Fairway) - we like to step outside the rear door to enjoy the wonderful views in the evening sunshine, or take a stroll on the course.
You'll sleep well in the beautifully-decorated king and queen-sized bedrooms with their own en-suite bathrooms (lots of privacy for two couples traveling together)- each of these bedrooms has direct access to the pool area. Two good twin bedrooms (without pool access) share the third bathroom. One of the twin rooms can be converted to a King if required and specified when booking. All the bedrooms have their own TV and a DVD player.
You can spread out and be totally comfortable in the two spacious living rooms, each equipped with a large flat screen HD TV. Enjoy a game of pool on the professional, slate-bed billiard table in the Living Room. A sophisticated, integrated sound system pipes your favorite music to all main rooms, including the pool area!
The fully-equipped kitchen with its black granite tops and separate laundry room make life that much more pleasant for when you have to make the effort to cook or do some laundry.
There is unlimited high-speed Internet access for your laptop. You can make free calls to the US and Canada from the house phone.
It's an easy stroll to the Clubhouse with its excellent restaurant & bar (breakfast and lunch everyday, plus dinner 2 evenings a week). Less than 5 minutes drive (or you can walk - if you feel energetic!) to a 24 hr hypermarket, other shops & restaurants.
There are at least 10 other Pay & Play Golf courses nearby; so keen golfers could play a different course everyday.
In summary, this is a superb privately-owned vacation home, near the attractions of Disney and Orlando, but away from the mayhem.... And just perfect for those who prefer peace, quiet and privacy.
As owners we visit at least 3 times a year to ensure that the villa is continually upgraded and maintained to our very high standards.

- Air Conditioning : The villa is fully air conditioned, with three separate adjustable zones. There are also ceiling fans in living and sleeping areas for your extra comfort. Heating is available for the cooler winter months.

- Queen Bed : The totally self contained "Guest Suite" across the courtyard has a Queen Bed, and access to the pool area. Bathroom with bath tub with shower over, sink and toilet.
- Twin/Single Bed : Both twin bedrooms are decorated to appeal to all ages, and share a Family Bathroom, which has bath tub wth shower over, sink and toilet.
- Crib : A portable (travel) crib/cot is available free of charge. A full size permanent crib may be hired for a small additional charge.

As far as we are concerned (being 'oldies') Southern Dunes is located in one of the best locations if you want to visit all the Theme Parks and do the shop till you drop thing - because you can easily do all that and then return to a beautiful peaceful location to re-charge your batteries for the next exciting but possibly exhausting day.........
The Unique Benefits at this House
Our villa "The Palm" is located in one of the best positions at Southern Dunes - it was one of the earlier villas to be built, which means it is very well spaced (the newer ones are SO close together) that you are not really aware of your neighbours. And with our UNIQUE pool area, which is totally enclosed, you never hear or see your fellow vacationers.........you can just while away the hours relaxing in total privacy (oh nearly forgot to mention you might just hear the odd golf ball land on the pool cage or roof due to some inexperienced golfer misjudging his tee-off from the 16th tee just behind the villa......)

Hi, we are Iain and Amanda Burrup. We live in the beautiful Cotswolds area of the United Kingdom, and have owned 'The Palm', our dream Florida vacation home since 2004. We visit at least 3 times a year, to get our sunshine fix and for Iain to play a little golf. We have 4 grand-daughters, who can't wait visit the Disney parks and the other great child-friendly attractions of the area! Regular visiting also gives us an opportunity to ensure that our home is being maintained and cared for properly by our management company. Thank you for providing the background to a wonderful family holiday in May/June 2007, i.e. the hire of your villa. Absolutely magnificent is our only comment. We all felt totally at home throughout the holiday which I think is testament to what a wonderful villa with its quality fittings etc you have created. It feels so much like a family home. The website pictures do not fully convey what quality Iain & Amanda have created in this Florida haven. The villa was a fantastic place to return to every day following our long stays in the Disney Parks. We felt totally at home there and very secure, it was a pity we did not have more time to spend in the pool and in the house generally. Location is brilliant for both parks and generally for other travel being so close to the 27 we did around 1000 miles and found the villa easy to find from all directions. Thank you once again for allowing us to rent such a fantastic property, we all felt very sad to leave it behind. We have stayed in some wonderful property all over the world but this takes some beating. All our dealings with Iain and Amanda were really friendly and we even had the pleasure of meeting Iain at the villa during our holiday (he even lent us some jump leads - lomg story. We hope to revisit Florida in 2009 and will try to rent 'The Palm' again if this date becomes firm. Would recommend to anyone but unfortunately that may mean dates may be unavailable because of the take up there may be. The Bramfoot and Brooks Families

Wy wife and I spent a wonderful two weeks alone at this beautiful home. The home was exactly as advertised. The photos don't do this property justice. You need to see it to appreciate it. It couldn't have been better. We really enjoyed the privacy. The taste in furnishings were wonderful!. The home was well maintained and was very clean. We had a very minor problem with the pool which was taken care of immediately by the friendly property manager who is just a phone call away. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to pamper themselves. The owners are wonderful people who personally contacted my to ensure that we enjoyed our stay. We definately will be returning to this property!
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, people with disabilities, sightseeing.

Hi Amanda Sorry I intended to get in touch to say what a lovely time we had at The Palm. We managed to play golf at Southern Dunes 4 times which was great fun. We also got the 14 day pass for the Disney Parks which the Kids just loved. With regard to the villa we were very comfortable and without hesitation would like to return at some time in the future.

Dear Amanda, Many thanks for your email. We once again enjoyed our stay at the palm very much. The new management company were much better, as when we arrived there had been a massive storm and this had effected the electrics. Unfortunately the air conditioning was not working and the villa was extremely warm. I contacted Debbie and left a message and they got back to us that evening to rectify this. We then noticed that there was a problem with Spa and once again this was sorted the next day. Much better service than last year and Debbie was very pleasant. One disappointment was the damage to the grill on the BBQ not sure if you are aware of this to allow you to have it in hand for repair. Liked the tiles in bedroom and other decorative changes.

We had a fabulous holiday in The Palm last year in July, we particularly enjoyed the outside area for dining. We enjoyed the space the villa gave us and it was always a delight to go back after a long day out. We enjoyed staying in The Palm so much that we have booked again this year in July 2010.

The house was exactly how it was described in the listing. It was extremely private and very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this rental property to friends. The property was very well maintained and definitely a great getaway for us.
