Decent condo. The whole building, in fact the whole area, is dated. That's not necessarily bad. The area is an ok area and very central. I'm an older person but I found the condo area to be too quiet even for me. The beach is further away than you might think, and not a good swimming beach, but once you get there, you can walk forever. Walk all the way around to Kihei or Wailea if you really want to. I took some long morning walks along that beach. Dining is lacking in the area. The Waterfront is closed, Beach Bums does not know how to cook a steak, and the restaurant at the Ocean Center closes by 3 pm or so. Buzz's Warf is great however. Great fish, great steaks, just plain great and you can get a decent pizza at the shops by the Ocean Center. It's a short drive to Wailea for some more upscale shopping and swimming beaches and Kihei is just great fun on a budget and restaurants galore so staying in Maalaea is not all bad. I recommend you have a rental car when staying here though so you can head on out to some fun zones. The condo is set up decent with some beach towels and beach toys in the closet. The view is really nice. Don't be concerned about the view from the lanai. It's all it's cracked up to be. Great place for your morning coffee to wait for the sun to clear the mountains. You could throw a rock and hit the ocean from the lanai. It's that close. The harbor is right there for your scuba or whale watching excursions. The neighborhood goes to bed about 8 pm so don't look for much nightlife there. Since 8pm Maui is midnight my time, that really wasn't a big deal. Overall, yea, alright place to stay. I'd call it a good bang for the buck kinda thing.

We found everything we needed, or hadn't even thought would be included, such as snorkeling gear and two coolers for our lunches or groceries. The kitchen is very well-equipped; it is clean and well-maintained. The sound of waves lulled us to sleep. This condo is centrally located on the island for day trips in either direction, near shopping, secure, and on the fourth floor so no one is making noise over head. The pool is large and maintained every day. Parking below ground kept the car cool.

This condo property was everything as advertised plus more. We were there two weeks and enjoyed each day. Unit very clean, fantastic views from lanai, exceptionally quite, and covered parking quite nice. Entire property is well maintained. Very nice resturants within walking distance. We have been to Maui several times, mostly staying in resorts. This condo will again be our next stay in Maui !!!

My husband and I spent a wonderful week in this fabulous location. We spent every morning looking at the ocean and a bounty of whales. Talk about spectacular!!!!!! The condo is very clean and has everything you could possibly think of. Barbara was wonderful to work with,(thank you for the delicious bottle of champagne left at our doorstep). We even cooked steaks after watching the super bowl(Go Pack GO)on the outdoor grill. It is located right in the center of everything. Not a far drive to lots of attractions. We could not have loved it more. Don't miss out!!! Angela

Aloha Lisa, We had a wonderful trip and the condo was great. It was nice that it was on the water. The games were fun as well, although Oregon only won one of the three games the played. We went to Roy’s in Kahana for Thanksgiving and it was great. We had dinner at the Waterfront Restaurant our last night. I miss the warm sunny weather and getting up each morning and hearing and seeing the ocean. We also didn’t see any whales, but I suspect it was a little too soon. Thanks again and we will definitely keep your condo in mind on our next trip.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay (3/31 to 4/6/08) at this condo! It was even nicer than what you see in the online photos. Everything from the views (including whales in the bay), the grounds, the parking, the convenient location, to the fully equipped unit were fantastic. Also it was a pleasure dealing with Lisa. A wonderful experience overall! We totally recommend staying at this place!

We have just returned from 3 weeks at this condo. Ma'alaea Bay can best be described as "HALF WAY TO EVERYWHERE" while staying on Maui. Maui traffic is getting very busy (we have been a number times over the years) and from this location you can save a lot of travel time while touring. There is an award winning rest. in the building ( not a noise factor, you would never know it's there). You are also near (5 min. walk) to the fishing / charter boat port of Ma'alaea Bay which has rest's, shops and the Marine Aquarium of the Pacific. The condo facility and grounds are kept in very good condition by Mark and his staff and the barby's on the ocean are great. The underground parking is a major plus as it's so nice to enter your vehicle that has not been sitting in the sun. The unit is as pictured and we found it very comfortable. We would stay in this unit again. Thanks again Lisa. Stan and Wendy...
Owner response:The traffic on Maui is getting busy, but being “HALF WAY TO EVERYWHERE” cuts the time down on all your day trips! We are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay and look forward to your return. Aloha and Mahalo, Lisa
