Welcome to "The Great Beach Getaway" on Harbor Island, Beaufort South Carolina. We are located next to Hunting State Park and Fripp Island and only 20 minutes to Beaufort or Parris Island. 90 minutes to Charleston and 60 minutes to Savannah.
Our five bedroom home is beautifully appointed with everything you will need to make your Beach Vacation one you will talk about for years to come. The home is open on the first floor with three bedrooms and upstairs offers two more bedrooms. Enjoy beautiful views of the St. Helena Sound, Marsh and Ocean from the living room, dining room, bedrooms and decks. Enjoy the ocean sounds and smells from the decks.
Harbor Island is a gated community available only to those living or staying on the Island. 14 Nautical Watch has access to the communities swimming pool, right out the front door, and the Harbor Island Racquet Club only a five minute walk away. The Racquet Club offers tennis, Olympic size pool, kids pool, playground, volleyball, fitness center and eating area... ALL AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE!! Want to spend a day at the beach? You are just a five minute walk or one minute bike ride from the Beach Access. Enjoy our Pristine Beaches and wildlife... You will play with the dolphin as they swim, encounter Sea Turtles in the evening, watch the birds chase the Shrimp Boats and so much more. You can go crabbing off the community bridges or enjoy surf fishing at the beach. This is truly an incredible spot for a family vacation. For the Golf enthusiast you only need to drive a short four miles to play the Fripp Island Golf Courses or enjoy one of the many Courses on Beaufort or Hilton Head.
Hunting Island State Park is adjacent to Harbor Island. The park offers biking, hiking, picnic areas and a Lighthouse opened for tours. The area is designated a rare Maritime Forest.

The house is furnished with three queen-size beds, built in bunk beds (singles, removable ladder, top bunk not suitable for children, double mattress furnished under bed) full-size day bed(in sleeping room, dresser, no closet or window) and queen size sleeper sofa.
Nearby Attractions: Restaurants within two miles of Harbor Island, Johnson Creek Tavern offers live entertainment on weekends, in and out dining, and The Shrimp Shack has been featured several times in Southern LIving Magazine. Many waterfront dining choices in Beaufort, along with antique shops, carriage rides, parks, water parks, movie theatres and much more.
Hunting State Park with trails, biking, lighthouse tours, camping Fripp Island offers Golf on their two golf courses along the Ocean, Charleston is only 80 miles from Harbor, Savannah is only 60 miles away, and Hilton Head is about 45 miles away. Water activities include kayak rentals, ocean and marsh tours from Kayak Farm, ACE Basin ecological and dolphin tours, boat charters, horseback riding and much more.You can rent Kayaks and additional bikes from Barefoot Bubba's right outside the Island gate.

Why the Owner Chose Harbor Island
We discovered the area by accident. My husband's dad had just passed away and we needed a vacation. We threw the kids in the car (they were little then) and headed south. We ended up staying on Seabrook Island. Loved the area so much, we bought a small condo. a couple of years later, someone made us an offer we couldn't refuse and we sold our condo on Seabrook in 2005 and purchased our home on Harbor. I chose Harbor because it was still "undiscovered" and had a certain charm. We fell in love with the simple things Harbor had to offer. Once on the Island you have access to the amenities. The pristine beach, beautiful marshes, awesome pools, tennis courts, volleyball, fitness center. Matt has discovered the joys of fishing. It is hassle free, you can just go out to the beach, or under the bridge, or peir fish at Hunting. Charters are available. Next time we go he is going to try to fish from the kayak! I love to relax at the ocean and pools. We both enjoy biking, hiking and golfing (plenty of courses within 30 minute drive). Hunting State Park is a mile down the road and is a must see when visiting. The town of Beaufort is so charming with its old homes, shops and restuarants. Parris Island is about 20 minutes away. I have many families stay for the son/daughter's Marine graduation..I love that I am somehow a part of those family reunions!
The Unique Benefits at this House
You will enjoy the ever changing tides, wild life and peacefulness of the area. You can just relax, or take advantage of the amenities of the Island. Group volleyball games are a blast, (I love volleyball). The pool, playground area is great for families with smaller children. You are not partitioned off from everyone..the baby pool is next to the playground and larger pool. Pack your cooler and spend the day! I have some bikes, beach chairs, beach toys etc..for you to use when renting from me. I hope you choose to stay with us..it truly is a vacation you will always remember.

We found our stay in this well equipped, clean and strategically located paradise to be incredible. We enjoyed bike rides around the island and on the beach, pool time during low tide, beach time during high tide, a bird sanctuary, abundant marine life, convenient shopping and dining, and a variety of activity to fill our entire week. We discovered amazing sunsets from the deck and even caught a red drum fish in the marsh in the "back yard" while conducting research in the dining room. The house served as our home away from home where we made memorable family moments, and provided comfort during amazing thunder storms and joy throughout our stay. I highly recommend this wonderful get away as it will enrich your life with fond memories.

My extended and family and some close friends gathered together to spend time with my newest newborn at this delightful home. The house easily accomdated our needs which included two active "big brother" toddlers, two newly dating "working from vaca" adults, two newborns (with exhausted parents), 2 grandparents, and 1 single uncle. The proximity to Hunting Island and Beaufort meant everybody had something nearby to keep occupied. What a fabulous place for my "maternity leave by the sea".

My husband and I were looking for a private beach to go to and a nice resonable priced place to stay. Harbor was such a beautiful little island and so private! The ocean here is very calm with small waves so was great for our six small children. We also loved the pool...had it to ourselves one day over memorial day weekend....that shows how quiet the island really is! Karen was so nice to work with and her house was beautiful. She also had it well stocked and had plenty of play things for the kids; bikes, boogie boards, wagon, etc. Thanks Karen for an awesome vacation!

Karen, had a wonderful time at your home, re-connecting with our son after his graduation from Parris Island. Your home is an easy drive to and from Parris Island, and is just the right distance away. Everything was clean and in great shape. The attendants at the gate were helpful and friendly. The beach was an easy walk away. The area was very quiet, and its restful to sit on the dock and watch the herons catch their supper. Highly recommend your home for families, military or otherwise. Thanks for everything!

We combined our 25th wedding anniversary, flying our sons friends/family to attend our youngest sons Marine Graduation. My husband and I came early to enjoy alone time and check out the local surroundings before everyone else arrived late Weds....this home was perfect for us. There was every convenience we needed. Everyone commented on how nice it was decorated. We were going to stay in hotels and took the chance to stay here. It was perfect and everyone could have their own space if need be. We really enjoyed having all our family together. Staying a night after graduation was a great way to wind down and reflect family day and graduation. The Six family
