We found our stay in this well equipped, clean and strategically located paradise to be incredible. We enjoyed bike rides around the island and on the beach, pool time during low tide, beach time during high tide, a bird sanctuary, abundant marine life, convenient shopping and dining, and a variety of activity to fill our entire week. We discovered amazing sunsets from the deck and even caught a red drum fish in the marsh in the "back yard" while conducting research in the dining room. The house served as our home away from home where we made memorable family moments, and provided comfort during amazing thunder storms and joy throughout our stay. I highly recommend this wonderful get away as it will enrich your life with fond memories.

My extended and family and some close friends gathered together to spend time with my newest newborn at this delightful home. The house easily accomdated our needs which included two active "big brother" toddlers, two newly dating "working from vaca" adults, two newborns (with exhausted parents), 2 grandparents, and 1 single uncle. The proximity to Hunting Island and Beaufort meant everybody had something nearby to keep occupied. What a fabulous place for my "maternity leave by the sea".

Beautiful place to stay with privacy and views

My husband and I were looking for a private beach to go to and a nice resonable priced place to stay. Harbor was such a beautiful little island and so private! The ocean here is very calm with small waves so was great for our six small children. We also loved the pool...had it to ourselves one day over memorial day weekend....that shows how quiet the island really is! Karen was so nice to work with and her house was beautiful. She also had it well stocked and had plenty of play things for the kids; bikes, boogie boards, wagon, etc. Thanks Karen for an awesome vacation!

Karen, had a wonderful time at your home, re-connecting with our son after his graduation from Parris Island. Your home is an easy drive to and from Parris Island, and is just the right distance away. Everything was clean and in great shape. The attendants at the gate were helpful and friendly. The beach was an easy walk away. The area was very quiet, and its restful to sit on the dock and watch the herons catch their supper. Highly recommend your home for families, military or otherwise. Thanks for everything!

From Guestbook entry: Dear Karen and family; Day one-coming from 0 degrees to 60+ was the beginning of what would be an awesome family week. We combined our 25th wedding anniversary, flying our sons friends/family to attend our youngest sons Marine Graduation. My husband and I came early to enjoy alone time and check out the local surroundings before everyone else arrived late Weds....this home was perfect for us. There was every convenience we needed. Everyone commented on how nice it was decorated. We were going to stay in hotels and took the chance to stay here. It was perfect and everyone could have their own space if need be. We really enjoyed having all our family together. Staying a night after graduation was a great way to wind down and reflect family day and graduation. The Six family

Hey Karen. Just a quick note to let you know that we had a wonderful time in your house. It was so beautiful!!! Everyone was really amazed. It felt so much like home. It definately made the trip worthwhile. My 2 1/2 year old daughter fell in love with it and still calls it "the Blue House". The weather was great except for some rain on Thursday but we were mostly inside all day anyway. I was a proud father to see my son become a man and I appreciate you opening up your home for us. We absolutely fell in LOVE with Harbor Island and the community of coastal South Carolina. What a fantastic place to discover!! We highly recommend visiting the area and staying at 14 Nautical Watch -- it was the perfect place to relax and find comfort away from home.

Our family (grandparents, 2 adult children and spouses, 2 teen agers and 2 preschool children) just returned from two weeks at your lovely home. Virtually every amenity anyone could ask for. Enjoyed Beaufort, Hunting Island. The only drawback was the lack of surf on Harbor Island. Had to go to Hunting Island for waves. Good meals at Russell's (bargain shrimp on Wednesday nights), Johnson Creek Tavern, Steamer, Barbara Jean's (killer pumpkin bread and jalapeno corn bread) and 11th Street Dockside.

Hey Karen! I just can't tell you how much I LOVED Harbor Island. I mean, I truly fell in love with Harbor Island, Beaufort, and all of the Low Country area!! Beyond being a great place to stay for Matthew's Parris Island graduation, it was just a beautiful vacation spot. I just thought it was all so wonderful. I'm so glad to have found it (and your lovely vacation home). As soon as we got home I started looking online to buy a home on Harbor Island, but all too quickly my hopes were realized as Eric, my husband, noted that the prices were a little out of our price range. So, here's to dreaming - and if we won't be your neighbor, then I do hope to come, at least, visit again! Thanks again for introducing us to such a lovely place! Chloe CFP

Karen I wanted to take the time to email you and let you know That You have a BEAUTIFUL home on Harbor Island. My family enjoyed the time together being able to stay together. I just wish we would have had more time to spend down there. We are enjoying are new Marine being home no especially knowing that he is able to spend Christmas at home as he got 2 weeks of recruiters assistance and doesn't leave until Jan. 3. Hi, We are back (boo-hoo) after a WONDERFUL couple of days at your house! Thanks so much for letting us enjoy all your amenities. The kids had a blast riding bikes, scooters etc. on the beach. The husbands had a blast fishing. (Sharks were the bite of the day!) We had Gayes seafood twice (yummo). And, the wives got to go shopping in Beaufort for 1/2 a day. Barely made it to town...lots to stop and do on the way! Anyway, nothing to complain about. Perfect house for the 3 families...possibly back next year! Thanks again, Eileen Murphy

I just wanted to let you know that we had a fantastic weekend at 14 Nautical Watch! The house was perfect for what we needed and I imagine we will try to come back and stay there sometime! We are normally Edisto Island beachgoers, but we might have to throw your home into our mix! You were so easy to work with and that made the trip even better! The wedding was great - the weather was perfect - all in all, a perfect weekend! Thank you for your part in making it happen that way! I will certainly be in touch in the future about renting the house. We're already lined up for Edisto thissummer, but maybe we can make it in 2006!

Great place for families to be together! We were so relaxed and comfortable in this beautiful surrounding - the photos just can't show you enough. Everything we needed was already there. The staff and owners were just wonderful people. Thanks for a wonderful place to stay- Our mom's getaway weekend was so much fun and this house was the perfect location for 10 friends! We enjoyed touring Beaufort and visiting some local restaurants. We would have liked to have spent more than a few windy moments at the beach, it looks lovely- guess we'll have to come again when it's warmer! Thank you again for sharing your home with us!

Together we welcomed him into the world, watched him learn to walk and talk, laughed and cried and swelled with pride through each new step and accomplishment. In this house, we were able to be together as we watched our son/grandson/nephew & big brother change from a teenager and Marine Recuit to a Marine and a Man! It is hard to imagine a house more full of love and laughter. No hotels, no restaurants, no fast food. a family together, sharing meals and time, walks on the beach, memories and plans for the future. A great house, a great weekend. The Davenports, Treichul, Lynch, Scull, Taylor families.

Even though we can't contribut much to the description of the island or surrounding activites, we have appreciated this beautiful house and convenience of staying here. We were here for our son/grandson/nephew's graduation from Parris Island Us Marine Corp boot camp. Even though it is a half hour drive to Parris Islad, staying here has afforded us the oportunity to be together as a family in our proud moment of graduation. We did not have to eat out all the time, go to bed at the times we liked and the fact we did not have to go from room to room, like in a hotel, to visit with one another. We spent most of our time at Parris Island taking in the history there and having the availability to see how Mitch has lived on the Island for the past 13 weeks while we missed him so. We would definately recommend staying here for other families coming for graduation. The house is beautiful and well stocked with all the amenities you need for the stay. We thank you for the opportunity to enjoy our time while here. What a beautiful place! We have loved our visit. Thank you so much for making everything so wonderful. I don't know what we enjoyed the most: lazy walks on the beach, biking, volley ball, swimming or just playing games and sleeping in at the house. Here are a few of our favorite memories: Swimming & pretending we're in the Olympics, jumping and sinking in wet sand...crabs, finding sea stars, playing in the pool, biking, jumping waves at Hunting Island, finding Sand Dollars, watching ship boates and dolphins. This is really a wonderful place for families with a mix of everything. We would love to come back!
