December stay at Robison Ranch
December stay at Robison Ranch
Six adult members of our family spent four nights at the ranch. The backdrop of the Sierras is magnificent: unparalleled beauty, there is no other place like it on earth. The real adventure at the ranch is interacting with and handling the horses, and every one of us had a great time and had nothing but positive things to say about our stay. Our levels of experience with horses ranged from very (my sister and I grew up on a small farm) to very little, and yet everyone had a great time handling and riding the horses. The trainer, Megan, was knowledgeable and very used to working with people, horses, and the two together. Our horse handling, arena training and trail ride were fun for everyone and learning experiences for those unused to being around horses. Leslie, the owner, told us that the lodgings were rustic, but they were more than adequate. She made us feel welcome and made sure that we had everything we needed. She even went on the trail ride with us, which was an added treat. We had a big fire going every night and cooked our meals, played games and watched DVDs. We also explored the area a bit, visiting and hiking in both the Red Rock Canyon State Park and the Alabama Hills near Lone Pine. We'd do it again in a heartbeat and hope to do so.

About the owner: I was raised on this ranch and have been busy on it for the last 48 years! The horses and I have hosted all kinds of organizations and people from all over the world. Renting to other equine lovers would broaden my scope in sharing the ranch with others.
Why the Owner Chose Lake Isabella:
Seventeen horses reside on the ranch presently. I love this ranch for it's remoteness, peace, and phenomenal sunsets. It is old, rustic and a great place for much needed R&R and enjoying the equine residents.
The Unique Benefits at this Farmhouse:
The stars are amazing at night and the clean air is refreshing.
