Renting monthly for the month of June at $55,000 or the month of July (30 days-July 1 to July 30th) for $65,000. NO LARGE GROUP FUNCTIONS, WEDDINGS, ETC. THIS IS A FAMILY HOME IN A QUIET NEIGHBORHOOD. WE WILL ONLY RENT TO RESPECTFUL FAMILIES. This is the first time we are renting it. This beautiful 6B/5.5B log home is located right on the south shore of Lake Geneva on the site of the historic Loramoor Estate. Walk 75' out the back door and you can be swimming in the lake.
Loramoor was the estate of John Hobart Moore, a founding partner of Nabisco, Diamond Match Company, US Steel, American Express, Rock Island Rail Road and many other companies. He was one of America's wealthiest people when he built Loramoor in 1899, like a Warren Buffet of his day. The estate included hundreds of acres and many buildings, of which only a few remain, including the original horse stable, which housed the world finest collection of horses in 1899. This is now a private home right up the road.
The 25,000SF brick mansion was torn down in 1984 and the property was subdivided. My home sits on what was the front lawn of the original mansion. The finest location.
My property is about 1-1/4 acres, 125' of lake frontage and about 600' long, and its all professionally landscaped and professionally maintained.
It features a 395' long driveway made of granite bricks reclaimed from the streets of Chicago. It also has a white wood pier that extends out into the lake 100', which has a staircase for entering the shallow swimming area close to shore, and two boat slips with a 10' x 40' sitting area, with diving board and slide. The water is 10' deep, and crystal clear, at the sitting area where you will spend a lot of your time. (Lake Geneva is one of the only spring fed, deep lakes, in the midwest, and it gets up to about 82 degrees, so its perfect for swimming. It was created by the Lake Michigan glacier, so it is not like the other lakes in the area that are all shallow and have unclear water.)
The home is furnished with fine furniture including Baker, Milling Road, Drexel Heritage. A few rooms have the Westin Dream mattresses. This is not rental home stuff, so we are going to be real careful in who we rent this home to. We want you to have fun and enjoy it like we do, but leave it the way you found it.
The home was completed in 2000 and has all the finest amenities you would expect in a $6M home. When you walk in the front door, you will notice the 10' high log ceiling and the twin log staircases. Then you pass into the great room with its dramatic 35' wall of glass in front of you, looking out at the lake. The view is breathtaking. Its all supported by 18' x 60' logs. To the left is the 22' high x 8' wide river rock, stone fireplace. This room has a leather sofa, and four recliners to watch the fire, the lake or the 63' plasma TV.
From the great room, two 9' stained glass doors lead into the billiards room which features doors and windows looking at the lake on two sides, a Brunswick Teddy Roosevelt 100th Year Anniversary 6' mahogany pool table (they made 25 copies of these pool tables, the original was made for Teddy Roosevelt and sits at Camp David), with its custom made stained glass pool table lamp. Also in this room is a Kohler Environment Bath, which is the coolest thing in the home. Two adults, lay on the padded deck that covers the whirlpool tub below, and you hit the button and the ceiling nozzles rain on you, dim the lights, or close the wood sliding doors for complete privacy, or hit the button and it turns into a sauna or steam bath, while the music plays overhead, as you watch the fire glow through the sliding glass doors.
Also on the main floor is the kitchen. It is a true chef's kitchen baltic brown granite countertops and a 60' Viking gas range with double ovens and a 24' griddle, microwave, a 36' Subzero refrigerator and separate 36' Subzero freezer, as well as another two drawer Subzero refrigerator and two drawer freezer in the island for drinks and snacks. There is a main sink with disposal and a prep sink with disposal in the island.
The Drexel Heritage table in the dining area looks over the lake is expandable to seat 8.
On the second floor there are three master suites. Two of these suites have double French doors opening to their own teak decked patio's looking over the lake. They also have luxury bathroom suites, each with Kohler heated whirlpool tubs and steam showers. The third master suite that overlooks the front lawn is 880 square feet, with its own living room area, and a bathroom suite that has a Kohler Riverbath whirlpool tub. The water flows out over your shoulders and you have the sensation of being in a river while you relax in this incredible tub, while the lights continuously change color underwater. There is also a luxury steam shower in this suite with 5 overhead shower heads, and three wall jets. When you are in this suite, you feel as if you are in your own private home. This room is the favorite of our quests, even though it doesn't have a lake view. All rooms are sound proof, as the entire home has a special sound and fire proofing.
There is also a guest bedroom suite on the main floor with a queen bed and its own bath with steam shower, perfect for anyone who can't climb stairs.
There is one more quest bedroom on the second floor, in between the two master suites, that is set up for kids with one twin bed and a twin trundle bed, so it sleeps three kids.
The basement has a fourth master suite. The basement has a 9' ceiling with no columns or beams, and is 2700 square feet of living area with a see through stone fireplace separating the bedroom area from the living room area. The bedroom area has a king size bed and bath with steam shower. The living room area has two large leather sofas and two chairs with a 70' Sony TV. Next to this area is a professional air hockey table with black light, a ping pong table, and kids play area for toddlers with many toys.
There are two laundry rooms. The one on the main floor has Whirlpool Duets, front loading washer and dryer. The one on the second floor has top loading ones.
The garage is three cars with a baltic brown granite floor, one space will be available for you to use, plus the large parking area in front of the garage holds at least 5 cars.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2000
About the owner: We started construction of this home in 1999 and finished it in 2000. I have used the home as a summer home every year. This year we are going to be renting it out for the month of June and July by the month, to a family who will take care of it like its their own. We already have it rented to one family for the entire month of August, so please note that. No Pets Though and NO SMOKING.
Why the Owner Chose Lake Geneva:
The location is unique. The south shore of Lake Geneva is the finest part of the lake to be on due to the sunsets and the water depth of 10' at the swimming area at the end of the pier, the level lakefront and warm water in this area of the lake. That is why some of the neighbors are billionaires that could live anywhere but they choose to live here.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
You will love the way all 140 windows open with the touch of a button as the whole home is automated. It is especially nice when the weather is cool and you hit the button that just opens all the awning windows on the first floor. The breeze blows throw while the doors can remain closed. The drapes are all automated too.
