- This is a convenient short drive from the triad area of N.C. and the views/outdoor activities are phenomenal. Hiking, biking, relaxing, and enjoying the 'quiet.' Numerous wineries, cherry, apple orchards, peach orchards, and quaint shops; your blood pressure lowers as your driving up the mountain to reach your destination. Mt. Airy, best known as 'Mayberry', is a 15 minute drive down Orchard Gap rd which takes you right into downtown. Visit the museum, have a Snappys Porkchop sandwich and please visit Floyds Barbershop! The hiking is phenomenal near the cabin with views, caves, water falls and cliffs. There is horseback riding on New River Trail at Foster Falls. Take a picnic lunch, ride the trail on horseback or your bike, and then go down the falls in a kayak or canoe. The fishing is great for walleye, musky and small mouth bass, along with the trout stocked streams and creeks in the area as well....moreless

LOVED THIS CABIN!!!
LOVED THIS CABIN!!!
I loved this cabin!!! My fiance and I took this trip for our 5 year anniversary and I don't think we could have picked a better spot. There is a ton of hiking just a short drive from the cabin and a fire pit right outside for those cold nights when you want to sit out and look at the stars. It was great to be able to bring our dog, Daisy. It is very difficult to find a place that allows pets. I will definitely be staying here again!!! My family and I are planning our trip now :)

Owner response: We try to make our cabins pet friendly with doggy gates, no carpeting, the safe location, and a dog blanket by the fire. We strive to keep the cabins very clean for our guests and love repeat guests! Thanks for being our guests and consider this your "Cabin away from Home".

My wife and I have been on the Blue Ridge Parkway once a year for the past 20 years. We have stayed in a lot of cabins but this cabin was the best one ever. The owners have gone beyond making sure you have everything you need. The cabin was spotless when we arrived. I hope we can return one more time this year.

Owner response: Thanks for being our guests and please come back! The Blue Ridge Parkway has so much to offer! Mabry Mills, Chateau Morrisette, Meadows of Dan, Nancy's Candy, The Blue Ridge Music Center, etc. Return soon and the leaves will be changing in a few weeks!
MY FAMILY STAYED IN THE 5:00 HERE CABIN. EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT. THE HOUSE WAS CLEAN AND FURNISHED AND PERFECT FOR COUPLES, FAMILIES AND PETS. THE SMALL AND LARGE POND ARE BEAUTIFUL AND THE FIREPIT IS A NICE BONUS. WE DIDNT WANT TO LEAVE AND WILL DEFINITELY MAKE THIS A YEARLY TRADITION! THANKS JODEE BURTON FOR MAKING OUR ANNIVERSARY VACATION AMAZING!

We stayed at the cabin "it's five-o'clock here" . I cannot say enough how wonderful this lovely cabin is, and owners Jodee and Hugh Burton are great. This is the second year we have came here for our vacation. It is a beautiful area, and friendly town. We loved being able to use the Cross Creek Country Club. The cabin is beautiful well furnished and has a cozy feel, we were even able to bring our dog Buster. Such a pet friendly area. We can't wait to plan another trip.

The cabin was beautiful and well decorated with such amenities. The bottle of wine was a wonderful added touch! We enjoyed fishing in the pond. Unfortunately there was no wifi the whole week we were there unless you stand by the shed or next to the other cabin to get it and still that is at times. I also would suggest to bring dvd movies because there are not many channels to watch even if it is clear or bad weather. Overall I am still rating this a Five star stay..... Loved the cabin.

Beautiful, quiet, peaceful, comfortable, wonderful! What more could you ask for? We loved it! Everything was what it is described as and then some. We definitely would recommend this place to anyone and hope we are fortunate enough to come back again. Thank you, JoDee and Hughes for this lovely cabin and your hospitality. Thanks for having us as guests here. I am thankful that I happened to find it on the internet, by chance, when I was looking for us a place to stay. We wish we were still there.Relaxation was what we were wanting and we got it! We haven't slept that well in a long time. It was great! Many thanks again!

Owner response: Thanks for your wonderful review and please come back! We make an effort for repeat guests to see improvements at each and every stay!
Thank you for such a wonderful cabin for us to spend our time together. It was more than we had imagined. You have everything there. Very peaceful even though it isn't secluded. Only problems we encountered was with the wifi, I could only pick it up outside. The guys enjoyed the golf course and fishing in the pond. Nice fish in the pond! Hope to return again for a longer stay..Thank you again for a beautiful cabin..

Owner response: Thanks for a nice review. We have now installed a booster for the wifi and hopefully it will work thru out the cabin. We get a lot of pleasure when we are successful with our cabins by having others to enjoy them.
This cabin is beautiful, clean and nicely decorated. Upon our arrival we recieved a nice complimentary bottle of wine, which is a nice touch. The owners provide everthing you need like spices( I forgot mine) and all the utensils you need to cook with. The day we arrived was very cold and windy to our surprise, considering it was late may, but you can't control the weather. But the fireplace kept us warm and cozy. The weather sat was much better and we we're able to enjoy fishing in the pond, sitting on the porch and cooking out on the grill. I do have a few negative comments though. The owners say over 100 channels, ipod deck station, and internet is available. There are only 20 channels and some of them are scrambled. There is a little stereo there but its not for an ipod, its for cds and radio. And the internet is poor to average. Also I think blinds should be installed in the living room, if you want the privacy then you have that option. Didn't bother me, but my boyfriend didn't like the openess of it. We enjoyed our stay and would love to come back.

Owner response: Janine, Thanks for your input. We did have an ipod station but it has been misplaced, and we will have another in a few days. The internet is wifi and the router is in the other cabin. I have found the service is great in the dining/great room area but not so good in the bedroom. If a guest is at the cabin in bad weather, the t.v. channels do not do as well as with clear weather. We did make the antennae more stationary so hopefully this is resolved for our future guests.
Our 1st Anniversary
Our 1st Anniversary
We came here to celebrate our first wedding anniversary, and we could not have picked a better place! It was so peaceful and romantic. Everything you could think of was available at the cabin, and it's close to great hikes and wineries. We had an AMAZING time and can't wait to go back!

We spent the weekend at "Time to Unwine" and found the cabin to be perfect. The cabin is beautifully furnished, decorated and clean. The porch has chairs and a lovely swing to sit and relax. My hubby and boys also tried their hand at fishing in the pond. The cabin is close to outstanding hiking and day trips, however, incredibly peaceful and serene. You will not regret booking this cabin for your getaway. Also, JoDee and Hughes were amazing at answering questions and providing suggestions on things to do.
