  Our week at the beach house on Bath Lane was excellent. The house was nice, clean and well stocked. We brought a lot of stuff from home that we ended up not using because most of what we needed was already there. The weather was perfect, we enjoyed great family time just hanging out together, sitting by the fire pit making smore's and walking on the beach. Family and friends all had a chance to come spend time with us. Joe, the Property Manager is a really great guy! Can't wait to come back and do it again! Great experience.

  We stayed at the Bath Ln. location. The view and the beach were amazing. We were there for the 4th of July and the fireworks were awesome!! That's the best I can say about our stay. The house was dirty, sheets and towels were threadbare and burned (as we learned when we ruined clothes in the dryer). There were holes in the walls, bugs in the drawers, no handle on the refrigerator, dishes and silverware were put away dirty. The sandy area between the houses had a fire pit but we were given one log for three households for the entire week. There were dog droppings (some from the managers dog-we saw them go), broken boards, rebar, broken chairs. Very unsafe and unattractive. We would not recommend this house for rental.

We apologize for the issues you described, but we have concerns that they might not be accurate. We apologize the towels were not to your standards, we have taken your comments to heart and new towels have been replaced. Our beach homes are thoroughly cleaned after each guest checks out. The cleaning staff makes sure all dishes and drawers are cleaned upon guest check out for the next arriving guests. We have very hard water here in Ventura which at times leaves hard water deposits. We will look into a water softening system. We came and personally checked the dryer problem and you showed us three white children's shirts that presented marks. That day we compensated the damage by giving you a gift card to replace the items. We hope the money helped you shop for what you needed. We have since replaced the dryer. As for the holes in the walls, the curtain rods were replaced so new screws had to be installed. The refrigerator upstairs is fairly new and the model has no handle. We removed the refrigerator from the property and replaced with a more user friendly one. We apologize for any inconvenience. We offer the fire pit for the guests to use, we're sorry that you did not have enough fire logs, but logs are something we do not provide. Guests can purchase what they need for fires and barbecues from the Vons store nearby. We clean after our pet EVERY time. More so, we encourage all the guests or even beach goers to carry bags and to clean after their pets. We check the grounds throughout everyone's stay and clean up after them if needed. If other guests' pets did in fact leave droppings and they did not get cleaned up in a timely manner, we apologize on their behalf and that we were not quick enough.   I have been dealing with this property for last three Weeks. Spoke with Laura back on 3/14 and she said the location was available and took credit card information and booking for a week. I was told I would receive email with booking information. Have called twice to follow up and was told the paperwork was coming and all was fine. Just got a call back that TODAY property was Double Booked by their management company so now I have no place to take my kids for spring break in a week. These people need to have better communication to figure out what is going on. Your customer service and organization are more than lacking.

  My family & I had a wonderful time. Spectacular views from upstairs and downstairs! We loved being able to walk out the downstairs bedroom right on to the sand. The on sight manager was very attentive and helpful. If you are expecting a 5 star hotel, this is not the place for you but for the price and location it can't be beat. We were very comfortable and we can't wait to come back.

  We recently spent a few days here, and my family and I loved it! It was just what we needed to relax and play at the beach. Thanks for renting to us and thank you to the on-site managers for sharing your firewood to help with our smores and boogie boards. My wife and I (and kids) appreciated it. :) It was a perfect mini get away and we will be back!

  That was a great family experience, The beach is right there, Beautifull views and sounds, Daily Dolphins, Seals and sea birds, The early morning and late afternoon walks with the dog on beach was a blast, all water & beach activities whenever you wish, Sunset BBQ on terrasse, Waking up with sunrises...Already starting to miss it. All shopping needs in walk or short drive range, Easy going community. All minimum confort is provided, A bit more Dining space could be a plus. Can't wait to see the patio completed. Discreet but highly effective Manager is right there for anything needed. In Brief, if the 4 Seasons Hotel standards is a must, this may not be for you, otherwise, this is a must try.

  We recently spent our second visit at Montauk. Here's the thing: for the price you pay for this on the sand duplex, it offers a great value. That being said, it is motel nice, not hotel nice- but what views! The sound of the surf.... Each visit we've made has been great. Yes, there are a few homeless guys in the area, but the area residents are tight knight and a local told me that there has been no problem with burglaries or other crimes. Pluses: there is a great new jacuzzi tub in the giant, steps to the sand downstairs master bedroom; all three bedrooms have ocean views; and the beauty of the beach and the views of Ventura peninsula far surpass beach views at my local Huntington Beach. We will be back.

  This was our second summer staying at the Montauk Ln beachhouse. We had a great time with the wonderful views, right on the ocean, and we enjoy the little beachtown there with a variety of restaurants with good food. We also enjoy going into Ventura, Main Street, the Farmers Market is wonderful ! Being right on the ocean makes the whole trip. The weather was beautiful and the water temperature was okay ! It was fun. Keep up the good work! The onsight management was very helpful and accommodating. A good idea. We heard that all of the construction going on in between the two beachhouses is supposed to be a patio. That would really be a great addition !

  Our family of five stayed for a week. The view from the living room and the location were great, but there are too many issues to make this a relaxing and comfortable home. The smell upon entrance is musty and of cigarretes smoke. The blankets in master bedroom had urine stains and the room stunk. We all ended up with bed bug bites and flee bites. Only some of the beds linens had been washed. I spent the first day washing all linens and matress pads that were grey from dirt. The sofa had crackers and sand behind every cushion. I can't belive they charge for cleaning! Some of the cutting knives were put back on the knife block without being washed. The room with bunkbeds had a gas smell. None of the DVR's were conected and only one remote control worked. On the side of the house there was a large area filled with contstuction material, nails and boards, which was unappealing and unsafe. The fridge smelled of fish, even after adding baking soda to it. Arranging a good cleaning crew would really make a diffrence in this place.

  Owner response: Dear Guests, We would like to first apologize for the problems you had. I wish you had brought these issues up to me upon your check-in when we met one another. The musty smell is likely from the humidity of being located on the beach. I will discuss dehumidifiers with the owner. The rental agreement states no smoking in the houses. This apparently was not respected by the previous renters. Per our phone conversation after you left, you found stains on the upstairs master bedroom linens. I am unsure why there were stains. The cleaning crew removes the bedding from the previous renters, and washes the linens. Had I known you were unhappy, I would have made brought and installed new linen for you promptly. Our appologies in regards to the sofa cushions, crumbs and sand you found under them. I have instructed the cleaning crew to remove all knives from the blocks to make sure they are clean. I had a plumber come out and check the gas lines near the home and there were no leaks. Apparently someone must have needed the cables that attached the DVD playes to the TVs more than we do. This also would have been a quick fix with contacting me next door to you. The construction going on between the houses is a deck that is in the process of being built. You and I have taked on the phone, and I have emailed the pest control report in regards to your bed bug statement. I had a pest control company out to inspect the home for bed bugs. Their inspection and report came back negative. If any future renters would like to view this report, I will happily email them the report. The refrigerators are cleaned after every renter vacates. Apparently this refrigerator was not cleaned well enough. Unfortunately I was unaware of this until after your vacation. We cannot address and rectify any problems that renters may have if we are unaware of them until after their stay. I was fortunate enough to meet you upon your check-in. Had I known you were having problems from the get go, I would have rectified them for you immediately. Our management team and owner are all reachable through various phone numbers. The rental agreement, the paperwork to acccess the internet as well as the welcome card we left upon check-in. Being on-site, we are reachable pretty much at all times if need be.   This review is long over due. We rented this beach house recently, what a great time my family and I had. We read the previous reviews and were a bit "iffy" and hopeful that the property owner had taken care of the negative review problems. Since we have a rental property as well, we are happy that we didn't let them sway us (we have a mountain get away that we rent out so we are picky). We made sure to talk about what WE wanted/expected with the friendly staff and not base our decision on the reviews. Communicating is something that my wife and I do before we rent any vacation home. Since is was Mothers Day, what a surprise we all had. There was a "Happy Mothers Day" ballon and a small bouquet of flowers. Immediatley my wife and mom knew it was "their" vacation. The views were just as told...beautiful. I'm glad I chose to bring the family to the beach. There is nothing but beach and ocean before you. Even though it was Mothers Day, I knew I was in for a treat as well. It was a bit overcast, but still beautiful. The beach is RIGHT before your eyes. We loved that we could actually watch our kids (and mom) playing from the house or deck (yep, we still made mom baby sitter, she loves it anyway). This allowed us to have "our" time which was much needed. This place is romantic and fun for the family all in one. Since this is a "review" not everything was as expected. We only rent our place to friends and family so we have a guest book that people can make suggestions and feed back (yep, we read it and correct items!). We appreciate the feed back (whether positive or negative) and are constantly trying to make it a better stay each time. SO...corrective criticism time: Amenities, I wasn't impressed with the cookware,(I love to cook & never expect them to be like mine). I learned to bring my favs with me and ALWAYS seasonings (serect goodies). I learned that no one has cooking "stuff" like I do. I asked about salt & pepper (test them), it was there, as I expected clumped from moisture. The cleaning could've been better, but sand is sand. Seating was so so, we knew that though. More towels, cleaning supplies would have been great. We had a car cover so no sand pelting, more drawers please, no meth freaks on our stay. To close to public? it's a state beach. It was great having onsite Mgmt as well (very friendly too). We'll be back, to bad July is full as it's the wifes bday month :( Mine is is Sept though! We will be getting in touch, Thanks guys!
