Had a wonderful stay. Owners very friendly and helpful. Nicely designed unit with privacy, located in a quiet neighborhood, but just minutes to Koloa, Poipu and the.Westside. One of the best values we have encountered in nearly 20 visits to Kauai.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Wow! Thank you for such a wonderfully kind review. We try to provide the best accommodation that we possibly can while still keeping the price reasonable for the budget minded visitor. We humbly "Thank You" for your time and are so happy to know that you have enjoyed your stay with us. Please come back and visit again. Mahalo Nui Loa Judy & Pat

My husband and I stayed here for over a week in April and we could not have asked for a better place! Pat and Judy greeted us on arrival with a welcome basket of goodies which was much needed after a day of travel. Such a good idea. Coming from northwest Wyoming and several inches of snow still on the ground it was a treat to fall asleep and wake up with the sliding doors open and the trade winds blowing through. We enjoyed a backpacking trip on the Kalalau Trail on the Na Pali Coast and upon our return the open air shower was most refreshing. We wanted to go on a boat tour of Na Pali and Judy gave us a recommendation for a company--we're so glad we took her advice! We saw dolphins, sea turtles and the last of the migrating humpback whales and we saw the trail we hiked from the ocean which was a neat perspective. We also enjoyed a couple of the botanical gardens, one on the south shore and one in Kilauea. The room was perfect for the two of us. Located in a quiet working neighborhood was so much better than staying at a busy hotel or beach resort but, being on the south shore, it was a great location to start out for anywhere on the island (within an hour and half to the END of the highway in either direction so everything is so close). We felt like we really did have the place all to ourselves. It was comfortable and homey and we loved the artwork by local artists--including our hostess! Pat and Judy were teh best of hosts and were full of information about the island and things to see and do. We would absolutely recommend staying here to anyone and if we ever return to Kauai, we'll be staying here again. Mahalo Judy and Pat!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Greetings Scott and Cayla . It is always so appreciated and the highest compliment when our Guests take the time to add a comment about their visit to the Island and their stay here. We humbly "Thank You" for your time and are so happy to know that you have enjoyed your stay with us. Come back and visit again real soon ! Mahalo Nui Loa Judy & Pat

Hale Mahina Piha was everything we hoped it would be! The owners(Judy and Pat) were kind, thoughtful and enjoyable to talk to. The property was a perfect place to begin our daily adventures: hiking Waimea Canyon, visiting art galleries in Hanapepe, walking around Old Koloa Town, rum tasting at Koloa Rum Co., driving up the Coconut Coast and boating along the Na Pali Coast.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Hello Krista & Nathan, It was wonderful to have you as our guests. Thank you for taking the time to write a review to show your support. It was our pleasure to have you. We hope to see you again. SOON !! Again, Thank you for your kind words we do appreciate them. Aloha Live Aloha Many Blessings Judy & Pat

Hale Mahina Phia is hands down the BEST vrbo location we have ever stayed. Hosts Judy and Patrick shared true aloha spirit with us and we felt as if we were insiders to the best hiking, hideaways, local dining, and off-the-beaten path gems. As mid-winter travelers the location allowed us to be at great snorkeling beaches within 15 minutes and quick access to paddling rivers or Wiamea Valley on the best weather days. Fast wifi is important to me as I stay connected with family and work and I was not disappointed here. We also like to prepare elegant meals with local meat, fish and produce. Everything we needed to do this was provided by our hosts, even if a bit of improvisation was necessary since there is no cooktop or oven. My only hesitation in bragging about this location is that we will have more competition booking it again. This will be the first VRBO property we will return to over and over again. Mahalo, Judy and Pat!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Aloha John and Ruth, We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. We are glad you were comfortable and had a wonderful experience. Everything here is in easy driving distance beaches, restaurants, and activities. Hope your next trip we get to know you two even better. Although we never said there was a cook top or oven..Thus the word kitchenette: as listed on wikipedia.org .... (under counter refrigerator, microwave, and counter top griddle, and small under counter dishwasher) ..and we did say any.. Open flame cooking may be done outside on your grill on your own private covered lanai. Thank you for your kind works we do appreciate them. Stay warm and if you can't come back and see us soon. Again, we are glad you enjoyed your stay. Live Aloha Many Blessings Judy & Pat

My partner and I stayed here for 9 nights and had the most amazing time. Judy and Pat opened their home to us and we couldn't have been more pleased with our stay. This studio apartment has it's own entrance to the side of their home, has a beautiful new kitchen and bath, comfortable lanai, large BBQ, coffee machine for the mornings, dishwasher, nice new towels, beach chairs, cooler, and umbrella for our use, and a very comfortable queen sized bed. The pictures didn't do the studio justice!!! Located in Lawai (hills about Koloa and Poipu), it was a perfect 5-10 minute drive from our two favorite beaches on the island (Poipu & Salt Pond), and right above the cute and quant little town of Koloa. Judy and Pat were so nice, respectful of privacy and VERY helpful with any questions that we had in regards to beaches, restaurants, grocery stores, and anything else that we might have needed. I highly recommend this studio for a single adult or couple. The price was excellent, the location amazing, and ambiance perfect for our stay in Kauai. We will be back for sure.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Hello Jason & Sarah, It was wonderful to have you as our guests. Thank you for taking the time to share your support of our unit. I want you to know that I took your opinions to heart, and will follow through on your suggestion to get better pictures taken. Thank you so much for your recommendations and guidance. It was our pleasure to have you. We hope to see you again. SOON !! So, on behalf of my family, Thank you for your kind words we do appreciate them. Live Aloha Many Blessings Judy & Pat

Comfy room with everything you need and more! Beautiful artwork! Hosts are incredible people with a lot of island knowledge to share! Close to beach, shopping and all kinds of fun exciting activities! My favorite was visiting the Lawai international Center, strolling the path of the 88 Shrine! No words can describe the power and energy of this place! I learned more about Kauai in this short stay than in all the times I've been here. I appreciate learning the history and culture of this beautiful place. Thanks to the folks that made this possible! Can't wait to come back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.
