If you are looking for the full Rocky Mountains experience, this is the place for you! The Sunnyside Mountain Home is located 15 minutes from the Winter Park Ski Resort facing spectacular views of the continental divide and the ski area.
Located in the beautiful Fraser River Valley, Sunnyside is centered among a wide selection of mountain activities. Out your front door is the Fraser to Granby Trail for hiking, biking, and cross country skiing. Within ten minutes, you are skiing at Winter Park Resort, fishing the Fraser River, or recreating at the YMCA of the Rockies. Just 30 minutes away is scenic Rocky Mountain National Park, water sports on Grand Lake, and rafting on the Colorado River. Top off your day by just relaxing in the hot tub and watching the alpenglow on the Continental Divide, or sitting by the fireplace.
Sunnyside is a spacious home designed to accommodate a large "family" of up to 19 people. Large windows off the sunroom open the home to fantastic views and, coupled with its vaulted ceilings, give the home a light and open atmosphere. The 2800 square foot house includes six bedrooms, a family room/bedroom, three baths, a sunroom, large kitchen, dining room, living room, laundry room, entry-way "mudroom" for the skis and coats.
The master bedroom has a queen bed and double futon, plus private bathroom. The bunkroom includes a bunkbed with a double futon on the bottom and single on top, plus an additional single bed. The third bedroom has a trundle bed that can be either two twins or a king bed. The fourth bedroom has a double bed and a single bed. The fifth bedroom has a double futon. The sixth bedroom/TV room has a queen hide-a-bed. Last but not least, the final bedroom has a queen bed and spectacular views of the continental divide and ski area.
The kitchen and dining room were designed for "real cooking and eating." It is wide open with lots of space, and you can seat EVERYONE at the same time in the same room! Both the family room and the living room have TVs with satellite, VCR, and DVD players. Free wireless internet is provided.

Why the Owner Chose Private Homes
The location of my home is ideal for accessing all parts of Grand County. It sits between the Solvista Ski Area and Winter Park Resort. It's also located within a few miles of cross country skiing at the Devils Thumb Resort and Snow Moutain Ranch. So it's a quick drive to just about anywhere.
The Unique Benefits at this House
I just love the spaciousness of the house when I'm there with my family. Everyone can have private space as well as gathering space. We can all sit down to a meal together at the same table. I'm always being drawn to the incredible views of the continental divide through the front windows and decks of the house, and especially as I'm sitting in the hot tub. You can even see the devil's thumb outcropping. I've been told that once you gaze upon the devil's thumb you will always return to Colorado. I think that is true since I've been coming here for over 20 years now!

My family and I love the Rocky Mountains, and especially Winter Park. We went skiing at the Winter Park ski area as often as possible, and decided to move to the area in 1994. We loved the unspoiled environment of Grand County, the miles of biking and hiking trails, and the close proximity of Rocky Mountain National Park. My children grew up as ski bunnies. When we moved to Oregon in 2004 I converted our family home to a rental home so that we could continue to come back to Winter Park as often as possible!

I enjoyed my birthday with good friends in this spacious, mountain home during the annual Winter Park Blues Festival last summer. We cooked our own meals, drank wine in the hot tub while watching the sunset, played card games, and sat on the front deck and watched to sun rise. Great location to just chill!

Our family had a wonderful time staying in this spacious home. We varied in age from 71 to 1 yr and there was pleanty of room for all of us, 19 total. The rooms were large and exactly as pictured on the web site. There was every kitchen aid you would ever need, including of dishes. The hot tub was wonderful and there were plenty of towels. The property was clean and well maintained. We could all eat together at the same time in the large dining area, The Air Hockey game was a big hit with the teenagers and pre-teens, The men enjoyed watching sports on the TV. Winter Park was fun! winter Park is only about 10 minutes away. There was something for all ages. Everyone had a great time and we are already planning a return visit next year. Thanks for the opportunity to visit this beautiful part of Colorado.

We slept 4 families (16 people total) very comfortably with enough private rooms and baths. The house is well situated, only 1/2 block off Hwy 40, within easy distance of skiing, eating, and snow tubing (our family's favorites). The owner and local service were excellent, the house was well insulated and all facilities worked well. The area provides lots to do at reasonable rates - the kids spent a couple days at the Y skating, swimming, etc. and both beginner and advanced ski slopes are close.
