Cottonwood house description
The Barn is a wonderfully contemporary rustic barn-style home in desirable Verde Palisades! It is on a cul-de-sac full of gorgeous custom homes and is a perfect place for golfers, balloonists, birders, bikers, hikers, tourists, and more.
Enjoy a combined rustic and urban experience in Cottonwood, population 10,000. Swimming pool, garden area, firepit, circle driveway, convenience (maybe 5 minutes to local markets and shops).
Minutes from five different wineries as well as Sedona, Jerome, Dead Horse Park, Tuzigoot Ruins, Sycamore Canyon, Oak Creek, Verde River, Montezuma’s Castle, Camp Verde, The Clarkdale-Perkinsville train run, and the Cliff Castle Casino. Three hours from the Grand Canyon as well as Sky Harbor Airport.
The Barn is one mile from the center of historic Cottonwood with its charming Old Town district, but you won't have to leave the property in order to relax and watch the wildlife such as javelina, quail, coyote, roadrunners, and hear and see horses and peacocks. Swim in the pool in the warmer seasons. Sit by the firepit outside (gas grill on front patio) with veranda dining or sit by the cozy wood stove inside. All modern amenities with stainless steel appliances and butcher block counter tops.
See fantastic views of Mingus Mountain, the distant Mogollon, (on a crystal clear day—and there are many) and Sedona’s buttes and mesas. Inside the double storied Barn, you’ll find a Hi Def TV hooked up to cable, free WiFi, a full kitchen and laundry, air and heat, and a wood burning stove, games, maps, brochures--everything but food!
The two bedrooms plus a loft sleeps eight, and blow up mattresses are available for more. The master bedroom can double as family room with portable screen dividers for privacy. The bedrooms have closets and drawer space, and the loft has king bed with storage and wardrobe clothing valet.
On 2.5 view acres. Gigantic private patios both front and back. Back yard is shady and securely fenced, (so is the pool) so that kids and dogs and in-laws are safe and contained.

We loved this charming house, it was close to everything that we need. The photos were exactly how it looks. The kitchen had everything we need. The beds were very comfortable, plenty of towels in the bathrooms. We loved that there was an area in the front yard and back yard to relax in! We will stay here again!

Great for Family Gathering
Great for Family Gathering
This lovely home was all it was described and pictured to be - and more! We had a family gathering with 5 adults and 4 children, and the living space and sleeping accommodations worked out great for us. It was roomy so that even with our "busy" crew, we never felt crowded. It was sparkling clean upon our arrival, and the décor and furniture were very pleasant and comfortable - all the appliances worked beautifully. It was hot when we were there - 95 - 100 degrees - but we didn't really feel it, as the cooling system worked great, including upstairs, and we thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful pool. The outside patios were delightful in the evenings and early mornings, especially for bird watching, and the grounds were spacious with nice landscaping. Mary, the owner of The Barn, was very attentive and pleasant, and stayed in touch regularly to check on any needs or updates. We had been to Cottonwood a number of times previously and had spent a couple of days in Sedona prior to arriving at The Barn, so we didn't feel the need to do much sightseeing, etc., rather just enjoyed sharing some precious family time in this lovely setting. I would definitely recommend it to other visitors to Cottonwood.

I loved this house it had everything you ever need. The only thing you have to bring is food and drinks, this house is fully loaded and what a pleasure to stay at. It was quiet and it sits on a big piece of property. There was 6 of us and we all had enough rooms and room to do what ever we wanted. I would so stay there again and recommend it to any one wanting to get away.

Just what our family needed!!
Just what our family needed!!
My husband and I are from Cottonwood, and we needed a place to stay for a family of 9 adults and 3 grandchildren. The Barn was much more appealing than any hotel we could have found, the great room downstairs accommodated us all. Allowing us to cook, eat, play cards, watch movies and just plain visit. The bedrooms are very comfy, and our grandchildren 6 yrs and 3 yrs. didn't have any problems with the stairs. It is just like the pictures clean, very comfortable, and the table outside on the porch made it that much more enjoyable. Mary the owner is very gracious, from checking in to checking out and in between as well making sure we were fine and answering all questions that we had. The location is awesome allowing us to run to Sedona for a hike, see a movie and eat some good mexican food. We look forward to staying here again and if you do you won't be disappointed!!

This place was just as explained in listing. We have a wonderful time. The Location is prime. We stayed only 2 nights but we were able to take day trips to Sedona and Jerome. The house is in a very quite neighborhood with wonderful views. It was very comfortable. We had 5 people, 3 adults and 2 children and it was very accommodating. Very Clean. We would stay again.

Owner response: And we love this review. It is really exciting when people have great weather and a great stay. There is certainly lots to see in the surrounding 20 miles! Then, longer trips get you to Flagstaff and the Grand Canyon. Can't beat it for a real taste of Arizona. Thanks so much for posting.
Lots of space and great value
Lots of space and great value
We were a group of 4 ladies visiting the Sedona area. This home in Cottonwood was very reasonable and only about a 15 minute drive from Sedona. The owner, Mary, was extremely accommodating and very timely in her correspondence to me. The home affords a lot of space to spread out. The pictures accurately reflect the home's appearance and amenities. The kitchen was beautiful and well equipped for our needs however we did not do any cooking during our stay. I slept in the king bed in the loft and it was heavenly. Our visit was during a cold, damp weekend and we found the baseboard heaters didn't afford quite enough heat so having the wood burning stove was helpful. There are also a couple of portable heaters that we utilized. Be advised you will need to be comfortable reading the instructions and using the stove. We had looked forward to using the outdoor fire pit but the rain and snow din't allow for that. The stairs to the loft are somewhat steep and the tread seemed short so caution is advised for small children and anyone with any unsteadiness. This home would be perfect for a family with older children with a lot of room on the main level, including a bathroom with shower. Two bedrooms, a very large loft bedroom with two beds, and a full bath are upstairs. Overall we got a lot of home for the price and I would return.

Owner response: We really appreciate that response. It is a lot of home for the price, and we remind guests that the oldest living ghost town in America is closer to The Barn than Sedona. Of course, I mean Jerome, Arizona-- a must see when you're in the area, and, certainly , oldtown Cottonwood is equally interesting. The stairway upstairs is a solid Douglas Fir construction and does seem a bit steep at first; however, I'm old and I run up and down it now like it's nothing.;) There are rails on either side and there is a portable child/pet gate already installed. We have had guests with small children and there were no issues at all. Of course, you always watch children around the pool and the stairway, and everywhere, for that matter. So far, our guests have been really caring of the property and very nice to serve. I do appreciate this review.
