Aspen Brook Cabin - Walk to Big Thompson River, Rmnp and Ymca
- Minimum stay:3-4 nights
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
AspenHaus Cabin is situated in the Estes Park community of Aspen Brook with shared access to the Big Thompson River. Our cozy mountain home is just a short walk into the Rocky Mountain National Park, 1/2 of a mile to the YMCA of the Rockies, 2 miles to the Beaver Meadows entrance of RMNP and 3.5 miles to the town center.
And the AspenHaus Cabin is right down the road from AspenHaus Lodge... over the past few months we freshly updated it to provide you with the same ultimate Rocky Mountain experience! Since buying the cabin in January we have painted the entire interior, re-finished the pine floors, had new carpet installed throughout, purchased new furniture for the great room as well as other mountain cabin furnishings, installed gas logs, a new Weber natural gas grill for the deck, updated lighting and stained/painted the exterior deck and trim. Wheww...all ready to go!
The main level vaulted great room is an ideal gathering space with a floor-to-ceiling Colorado moss rock fireplace in a warm and inviting living room setting, an adjoining fully equipped kitchen and dining room area. Picture windows all around...no artwork needed on these walls!
Step out on the deck to enjoy the sounds of the Big Thompson River, just a stone's throw-away; and sneak a peek of Flattop Mountain and Hallett through aspen groves and pine trees... you can take it all in while having your morning coffee, an evening glass of wine or cooking dinner on the grill. And while you are there be sure to say hey to our frequent visitors including elk and wild turkey flocks!
The main floor bedroom has a king sized bed with an adjoining full bath. Also on the main floor is an off-kitchen laundry and access to the one car attached garage.
The second level of AspenHaus Cabin has two vaulted ceiling bedrooms (a king bed in one and 2 twins in the other); connected by a loft hallway and jack-and-jill bathroom with a separate (double) sink area.
As our guest you will enjoy access to shared common fishing, picnic and playground areas along the Big Thompson river... all within sight of AspenHaus Cabin.
Take a short woodsy walk along the Big Thompson River and emerge to expansive views of Moraine Park. Visit the museum, catch the shuttle to other RMNP destinations or continue your hike on to Cub Lake where you will have extraordinary opportunities to view herds of elk along the way.
Need we go on... our family thinks that AspenHaus Cabin is perfect in every way... not just another vacation rental but our perfect mountain cabin!

Estes Park is one of my favorite destinations and I've stayed in multiple cabins over the years. This cabin surpasses all of the them. I feel so lucky to have found it. The neighborhood is lovely and quiet. The views of the mountains are stunning. The sound of the river is incredibly peaceful and just a few steps away. The cabin is decorated beautifully and immaculate. It's stocked with everything you need and more. Sue and Mark, the owners, make it extra special. They are just pure joy, from helping you finalize plans, to ensuring everything is just right before you arrive, and checking in to see if you need anything. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cabin to anyone. If you're looking for a peaceful, lovely retreat that's also close to town and the action of Estes and RMNP... this place is perfect. I didn't want to leave. And I'll definitely be back! :-)Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

My husband and I are from the Denver area and go to Estes regularly - this will be "our" cabin from now on! It is beautifully furnished, well appointed, and I have never seen a place so spotless, everything looks clean, new and well taken care of. This is a property that the owner obviously takes pride in and it shows! Its in a great location, close to the park entrance and to the village. Sue is fantastic, so helpful at making sure you have all the information you need to have a wonderful time in Estes, even the inside scoop on local events and the best place for coffee. We use vrbo often for our vacations, and this is the best we have stayed in out of all of them, not just Estes. Don't hesitate to book this place, we look forward to going back soon!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you, thank you, thank you for your kind words for AspenHaus Cabin! We absolutely love it that you and your family will make the cabin your very own when visiting Estes Park! Looking forward to your next visit!! Mark and Sue Werder, Owners

About the owner: We are diehard fans of the St. Louis Cardinals & Blues, Buffalo Bills & Sabres, world cup soccer, Pittsburgh Penguins (some of us!), VT Hokies and the Rocky Mountains!
Why the Owner Chose Estes Park:
We have spent many of our summer vacations visiting national parks and the RMNP is our hands-down favorite! After 2 years of searching for a home in Estes Park we knew that AspenHaus Lodge was the perfect one for us... and AspenHaus Cabin is an even cozier version, just down the road!
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Walk directly into the RMNP or access the shuttle bus by foot to avoid traffic and delays!
