Beautiful Chalet, Great Location!
Beautiful Chalet, Great Location!
This is a beautiful property! We held our family reunion for a group of 18 at Whistler Alpine Chalet and our four children and their families loved the location and everything the home had to offer- huge hot tub, yoga room and gym, plenty of storage and 11 bathrooms- one is each room and a powder and steam room - no one had to wait to get ready!!!. The best part of the house is the common areas are large a family of 20 can actually eat dinner in one great dining room and kitchen is truly a chef's dream kitchen - well equipped with two oven and a great breakfast bar to put all the food out on. We would truly recommend this property to families. Thank you for letting us have such a great holiday in your home.

We have stayed at the Whistler Alpine Chalet twice this year and will make this an annual holiday chalet. Our first trip was in January of this year and 8 couples did a ski trip, we found the chalet very comfortable, well equipped and extremely well kept. We were able to keep our ski's in the ski lockers and it was very easy to get to the ski lifts and the best part was coming back to this huge chalet, putting on the fireplace and enjoying the company of our friends. We do an annual couples trip every year and never have we been able to find a home that provides each couple with complete privacy - we all had our own ensuite bathrooms and tv's and beds are very comfortable. In addition the way the living room, dining room and living room is set up it is great for entertaining and the best thing was we were all able to sit together in the large 20 person dining room for dinner each night. The owner was very lovely to work with, very professional sent all of the information we required just let us enjoy our holiday. I am a yoga teacher and after our visit with our friends I rented the chalet again in September and ran a yoga retreat. It went off so well, the chalet has a large yoga room and each of the guests on the retreat enjoyed their own space and yet the common areas were perfect for cooking classes, nutrition seminars and the proximity to the lake was brilliant - we did some yoga lake side too! We have already booked for next year, it is a chalet that is very well taken care of the owners, when you speak to them you can tell right away how much they love the property and want you to have an amazing experience. Each detail from artwork to the linen to kitchen supplies and equipment - is high end. Thank you for providing us for such a great experience. Look forward to being back next year.

these guys have one of the few 9 bedroom house's in Whistler and they know it. For the money they are charging the kitchen is ill equipped, hot hub barely warm, no extra towels, patch jobs all over the interior, not updated from when it was a lodge years ago, and management is hard to deal with. Damage deposit was not returned in a timely fashion and very minor things (some of which we were not responsible for) were billed without any discussion or response to questions or dispute. some personal possessions were also left at the house and not returned by management as requested. We will not rent there again. good parking and nice neighbourhood though..

Owner response: In this case as an owner our screening process was not what is should have been- we should have gone with our initial gut feeling and not have rented to this group. This guest was using the chalet for demo of bikes for Crankworks and felt that we should clear out the garage, yoga room and dining room for his presentations. We did not all this without extra labour charges, provided extra linen for the the numerous guests that were coming in and out and even provided a discounted rate for their stay. They however did not respect our home and drilled holes in walls for posters, bikes caused damage to our walls, they moved supplies all over the house, broke shelves to name a few things. In addition they called every day regarding damage deposit knowing full well that damages had happened in several areas and we were waiting for third party trades to provide us quotes on the full repair of these damages. Damage deposit was returned 10 business days after guests left and they were only charged half of what the damages were since all the invoices had not come in yet- all damages are fully documented by pictures, third party invoices and before and after pictures. We caution other homeowners to screen these guests for Crankworks 2014, they will not respect your property and there idea of not a big deal costs hundreds of dollars.
Nice accomidations that suited our large family reunion perfectly. Enjoyed the large rooms and kitchen that allowed for great family meals. Kitchen was well stocked. Rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious. Location is ideal for quick access to the beaches or town. Only fault were the charges applied after we left over and above the stated damage deposit. We were charged for supposive breakage of dishes which I refuted. Only one wineglass was broke and owner stated multiple chips in dishes required replacement of multiples sets of wineglasses and dishes. Cleaners took 20+ hours to clean the place after we left the house spotless. We're were charged for extra time required to take sheets to laundry facility because onsite laundry is not sufficient. Owner indicated there was a stain on pure white bedsheet that had to be replaced. I don't believe it because I checked all the rooms prior to leaving and even took pictures. Also charged for dropping 3 bags of garbage at the dump which is located beside the laundry facility (no extra driving time required). We couldn't drop it off ourself because of road closures (Triathalon weekend). I noticed that someone kept the money from the recylcables we left and didn't try and return that to us. Felt the charges were petty considering that we left the place very clean and the daily rate should cover minor incidentals. Recommend if you rent this place (which is lovely) that you take multiple pictures before and after of all rooms and kitchen wares.

Owner response: Thank you for taking the time for the review. We are very happy you enjoyed your stay at Whistler Alpine Chalet. It is truly a beautiful chalet that is perfect for large groups. We ensure that every guest that rents the chalet arrives to chalet that has been cleaned to hotel standards, we do not hire a home cleaning company but hotel cleaners. To clean a 9 bedroom chalet that is over 5500 square feet is does require a min a 4 people each working 6-8hrs. The damage deposit that was deducted was nominal $127 for garbage removal and linen damages and $75 for broken plates/dishes - total of $200. Please note the in Whistler the only way to remove garbage is dropping it off at Function Junction - the city does not pick up garbage. Garbage bins are not allowed to be placed outside of homes - this attracts animals, namely bears. Therefore to remove garbage we have to contract out a garbage removal company to remove any garbage and their minimum charge is $150 - it does not matter if there is one bag or 7. We make it very clear in the contract that garbage but be dropped off or charges will apply. We had even extended check out time to ensure garbage removal would not be a problem. In addition, when young/children guests are staying at the chalet and there are chocolate stains on white duvet covers we must ensure these are properly removed prior to the next check in. It is hard to notice all the items as you are checking out, but is the role of our cleaners to ensure the chalet is exactly is the same condition is was provided to you in. Our laundry is never done on site. It is also sent to a professional hotel laundry facility that ensures that is is fully cleaned to the highest standards and pressed. We pride ourselves in ensuring every guest receives the 4.5 star standard chalet that we are awarded by Tourism BC , Whistler and Canada Select and this can only be done by ensuring the same standard is kept after every visit. We also provide a full inventory of kitchen supplies and if glasses have cracks in them we must replace them- it would not be fair to the next guest to have cracked a cracked glass or worse yet hurt themselves. We are sorry you do not agree with the nominal $200 charges that were applied to your account, we have provided you all the third party invoices and we hope you can appreciate that we must ensure all guests receive the chalet in prime condition.

Thank you for making making your home a perfect stay for our family reunioin. Our children and grandchildren loved the space they had and really enjoyed the lake. The kids played all day in the water and came home to a lovely BBQ. Every year we plan our family reunion and your place by far provided us the privacy and quality we have not experienced before.

Finest Euro-ChaletGuest comment entered by owner
I wish we had this Chalet in better parts of Europe. So close to the Village of Whistler, the lake for winter skating, and all the warmth and comforts were 'better than home'. A truly exceptional chalet in a world class location !

An amazing ski chalet
This chalet was excellent for our family ski holiday. The chalet has ski lockers for each of the guest rooms it very easy to be organized with our rentals and getting ready for the hill. The location was great, it took us 2 mins to get to the lifts and it was very nice to come back and put on the wood fireplace. We hired a chef for the stay who remarked many times on how amazing the kitchen was and he really enjoyed presenting food in the breakfast nook and serving to food to us in the massive dining hall. Added touches like slippers and how clean the chalet was really made us feel right at home. The hot tub was also a must! A beautiful picturesque chalet.

What a beautiful ChaletGuest comment entered by owner
What a beautiful Chalet
Our family of 16 truly enjoyed Whistler Alpine Chalet. First off, I must say the qualilty of the chalet is stunning. You can tell this chalet was custom built and the care and attention that is put into each room is stunning. The chalet featured 9 bedrooms and each was equipped like a hotel room! We had beautiful ensuite and bathrooms, 42 inch flat screen tv's and and ipod docs. This was great as it allowed each family member time to retreat to their own bedroom for privacy. The kitchen and is stunning! Very well equipped - a chef's dream kitchen. We will be back!

About the owner: I am an outdoors person, the reason we purchases Whistler Alpine Chalet was two key factors 1. Location was ideal and 2. It was a purpose built chalet for large groups not a home that had been converted into a rental. We love our chalet because we can do all the things we love in Whistler -Ski in the Winter and in the Summer we love walking to lake and enjoying many water sports, golfing and biking on the many trails that Whistler has to offer.
Why the Owner Chose Private Homes:
We chose this property because so many times we have traveled with family and friends and could never be under one roof. We had to rent 1 or 2 houses or hotel rooms. It is not the same feeling as hosting your entire family under one roof. What makes this possible is Whistler Alpine Chalet was purpose built to operate as European Chalet. What that means is each of the 8 bedrooms are equipped like a hotel room so you do not have to share your TV, Bathroom, I pod Doc...you can relax on your balcony and enjoy the fresh mountain air. At the same time you can cook up a great meal and enjoy it in our 16 person dining room and sit by the fireplace and share many stories or enjoy workout in our fitness studio and perhaps follow it up with a steam shower and a hot tub. So many memories for the entire family under one roof - that is true luxury.
The Unique Benefits at this Chalet:
Located off the shoreline of Alta Lake in Alta Vista, Whistler Alpine Chalet offers direct access to ice skating on the lake in winter and biking trails, beach and water activities in the summer. For your added convenience we are located in Whistler Central so getting to the ski lifts has never been easier - 3 mins to the ski lifts. VALUE ADDED INCENTIVES 10% off Ski/Snowboard Rentals Free Parking Full use of wellness facilities: hot tu/steam shower/yoga/exercise studio High Speed Internet/WiFi Ski Storage Air Conditioning/In Floor Radiant Heating
