If you’re looking for a place to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, this is the place for you. Swim with the manatees in the winter, scallop all summer, and fish till your hearts content. This quaint home is in a quiet, well-maintained neighborhood. The neighbors are great and the stress level is low. Our property is privately owned home with a large attached porch and double carport. This spacious 2-bedroom/2 bath sleeps 6-8 people. The master bedroom is equipped with private bath and California King bed. There is a full sized bed in the other room as well as a day bed in the family room. There are cable TV’s in each bedroom and the family room. There is wireless WiFi and home phone with unlimited nationwide calling. The family room and porch overlook the dock and canal. You can dock your boat at your own dock or you can just sit and watch the sunsets and fish jumping in the canal. The atmosphere lends itself to relaxation and enjoyment of the real “old” Florida. This home has all the amenities you need to have a nice stay; pots, pans, spices, coffee maker, blender, crock pot, toaster, dishes, linens and gas grill. All that you need to bring are groceries. There is a washer and dryer in the utility room for your convenience. ?We have 2 air mattresses if the need arises. The town of Homosassa has events going on all year, such as the Seafood Festival and Raft Race. The Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park is nearby and boasts some impressive wildlife that is indigenous to Florida (black bear, deer, alligators, manatees, birds, hippos, otters, etc.). There are many places that you can drive your boat and buy bait & tackle or grab a cold beer. There are Publix and Sweetbay grocery stores within a 10-minute drive as well as a large fresh produce stand. CVS, Walgreens, and Super Wal-Mart are also nearby for all of your fishing and boating needs. There are several franchised fast food restaurants (Wendy’s, McDonalds, Hardees, Subway, Burger King) and tons of wonderful “mom and pop” dinners. There is also a very large flea market 15 minutes away. It is only 10 minutes by car to Homosassa Springs (30 minutes by boat) where you can swim with the manatees and 45 minutes to Rainbow Springs where you can enjoy great tubing in crystal clear water. Our canal leads into the Homosassa River and the Gulf of Mexico. The ENTRANCE TO CANAL IS AT MILE MARKER 76. We are only 15-20 minutes by boat to open water and only 5 minutes to no wake zone. For more family fun activities take a short 10-minute drive to Crystal River, an hour to Tampa and beautiful beaches, or 90 minutes to Orlando/Disney.

Great waterfront home in a quaint little neighborhood. I brought my family of 4, my dog, and a few friends over for a 5 day stay and had an enjoyable time. I also brought my 20ft bay boat and was pleased with the location on the river. It's only a 15 min run to the mouth and a 30 minute idle to the springs. It was nice not having to use the public ramp to put the boat in and the dock made for easy access in and out of the boat. The house was as described and the location made for short drives to the wildlife park and the local bars and restaurants. Perfect place to stay during scallop season and only minutes away from good fishing. We experienced super low tides during our stay and were still able to get the boat in and out of the canal (carefully). For the price, it can't be beat!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers.
