Welcome to paradise in southwest Florida! Pelican Sound Golf and River Club is a 547 acre gated resort-style community offering 27 holes of beautifully maintained championship golf, six lighted Har-Tru tennis courts, an aqua driving range, a fully-equipped fitness center, six heated pools and spas, two restaurants, a beach shuttle, and much more. Surrounded by nature preserves, Pelican Sound borders the Estero River, and connects to the Gulf of Mexico through Estero Bay. The community is located between Ft. Myers and Naples and is just 12 miles from the Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW). There are a multitude beautiful, white sand beaches nearby, and both Sanibel/Captiva and Marco Island are just a short drive.
This spacious, two bedroom, two bath condominium is located on the second floor of a two-story building and overlooks the 2nd hole of the Sound golf course. The beach cottage decor enhances the open and airy feeling. The living room features a flat-screen television, DVD player, and a surround sound stereo system. The dining area seats six, and the fully-equipped kitchen has everything necessary to prepare meals and entertain. The master suite contains a king size bed, flat-screen television, master bath, and a walk-in closet. The guest bedroom offers a queen size bed. The screened lanai is perfect for enjoying the private, golf course view and the beautiful Florida sunsets. Wi-fi internet access is available both in the unit and at the Turnberry swimming pool just across the street.
Those who lease at Pelican Sound transfer the many Pelican Sound amenities during their stay. The transfer provides full access to the community’s Golf Club, River Club and tennis courts. In addition to golf, tennis, and dining, the transfer includes access to the fully-equipped fitness center, the complimentary pontoon boat shuttle to Lovers Key, and canoes and kayaks available at the River Club to tour the Estero River.
The beautiful mediterranean style clubhouse hosts many activities as well as formal and casual dining. There is a pro shop, a bar, and a variety of both daytime and evening activities. The River Club offers a large heated pool, indoor and outdoor casual dining as well as the previously mentioned fitness center, canoes, and kayaks.
Pelican Sound is just minutes away from some of southwest Florida finest shopping. Choose from Coconut Point, a picturesque outdoor mall with over 140 stores, restaurants, and a movie theater; Gulf Coast Town Center, a sprawling village-like setting with nearly 100 stores, restaurants, and a movie theater; and Miromar Outlets with 140 plus designer and brand name outlets.

Sunsational!! During the month of April, my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our month-long stay at the beautiful Pelican Sound Golf and River Club, a wonderful gated community in Estero. Our condo was located in Turnberry. Listing photos accurately reflect the condo's apperance. It was spotlessly clean, private and quiet with covered parking for one car. The spacious second floor condo is very comfortable, well stocked with quality kitchenware, new patio table/chairs, lush towels, lovely furniture and just about any item imaginable to make your vacation seamlessly perfect, including: two bicycles, washer/dryer, flat-screen TV’s, WiFi, beach chairs/umbrella, coolers, and a king size Tempur-Pedic mattress in master, just to name a few. I noticed two Pack-and-Play’s should you need them, as well a children’s pool/beach toys. To enjoy a pool, just walk across the street; perfection! Morning coffee and afternoon cocktails on the shaded screened lanai, overlooking the golf course, was delightful. Pelican Sound has meticulously maintained grounds. It boasts three, 9-hole manicured golf courses. Even though my husband isn’t a serious golfer, he took advantage of the aqua driving range. He did play two rounds of golf (Lakes and Sound) and is now “inspired” to work on his game…thanks Z’s! One of the most enjoyable features offered at Pelican Sound is the leisurely 20-minute pontoon ride down the Estero River to Lover’s Key beach, just loved doing this. Very nice on property restaurants with varied menus and delicious well prepared meals too. Pelican Sound is conveniently located on Highway 41 between Ft Myers and Naples, close to excellent shopping (Coconut Point Mall, Gulf Coast Town Center/Costco, and Miromar Outlets), Publix, many restaurants, and SWF Airport. Equally important to all that I have mentioned and absolutely not to be overlooked, is the friendliness of the Pelican Sound community in general. From the staff to the residents themselves, we found it warm and inviting. Even before our vacation started, our contact with the owners was pleasant, prompt and courteous. They were wonderful to work with and ultimately made the decision to rent their condo and easy choice. Pride in ownership is evident. As a potential renter, you have many options from which to choose, let me help by HIGHLY recommending this condo unit for your SWF vacation. We would definitely rent this condo again. In summary, I am jealous they own it and I don’t. 5 Stars.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children.

My family and I recently stayed at this “Turnberry” Pelican Sound condo and couldn’t have been more pleased. The listing describes everything one hundred percent accurately. The space is exactly what a vacation condo should be with its beachy décor, open-air sliding doors and private second floor lanai to enjoy the sunsets over the golf course. Not only that but it has all the amenities you could possibly need (cable/internet, DVD, bicycles, washer/dryer, beach cart/chairs/umbrellas). There is a pack-and-play crib (no need to lug one with!). Our two children (ages 4 and baby) enjoyed the condo as much as we did. If you’ve never been to Pelican Sound before, let me give you a few reasons why you should visit. The location is superb. It’s minutes from Coconut Point, the “lifestyle center” that has everything you need. Captiva and Marco Islands are each only one hour away. Estero is a terrific base to explore the best that Southwest Florida has to offer. It’s also only 20 minutes from the airport. Pelican Sound has great amenities including the river club, golf course and nature trail. The boat ride to Lover’s Key is a must. The development is beautifully maintained. Walking around Pelican Sound is relaxing, safe and friendly. What a great way to start the day after perhaps over-indulging at one of the terrific restaurants that can be found in Estero, Naples, Sanibel, Fort Myers or Bonita Springs. And the beaches are the best in the nation (Barefoot, Bonita and Vanderbilt Beach are a short drive away). If you have been to Pelican Sound before, let me give you a few reasons why you should visit this particular condo. Since you’ve been to Southwest Florida, you know how important and beautiful the sunsets are. This condo is perched on the second floor with tremendous privacy and a great sunset view. This also means that the lanai is shaded in the morning, which makes it perfect for eating breakfast and watching the golfers. The open-concept kitchen and living area is very comfortable for a family of four, five or six. The furnishings are high-end. The clay-tile car park is very grandiose and very functional in the case of a brief Florida shower. The parking space is also located at the end of the row, which is safe for children. A terrific heated pool that overlooks the aqua driving range is a one minute walk away. Best of all, the owners are wonderful people who will make sure you have a great stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
