The style of the furnishings indoors, combined with the characteristic shape of the building, give Villa LisiDor a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
On entering LisiDor you find yourself in a large spacious living room with a fireplace, a sofa corner and a dining area.
From this room you get to the fully equipped kitchen, the studio with a single sofa bed, a large bedroom with 3 single beds, a double bedroom, a twin bedded room, 3 bathrooms and a cozy tower room with TV Sat from which you can enjoy stunning sunsets!
A furnished loggia terrace has an original, 300 years old working bread oven and a BBQ providing a perfect spot for eating al fresco.
For the active guests a tennis court and a swimming-pool are at private disposal, situated within the large garden granting much privacy!
On rainy days you can enjoy the fireplace, the TV Sat, the Wi-Fi, read a book of our english library or play with your friends some games at your disposal and entertain your children with DvD's at your disposal.
Immersed in the hills between vineyards and olive-groves, the villa is situated in the heart of the Chianti Classico triangle of Radda-Castellina-Gaiole midway between Siena and Firenze.
Reachable in a day-trip are many tuscan villages like San Gimignano, Monteriggioni, Greve in Chianti and points of interest like Vertine, the castle of Brolio, the wine-tours in the Gallo Nero (Black Rooster label) region, wine-and oil tastig opportunities.
Beautiful plus is that there is a Chef available for Tuscan dinners cooked at home or for cooking lessons and a tennis teacher for lessons in your private tennis court!
In Radda in Chianti (6kms from home), with its election of restaurants and beautiful little shops, you can find all necessary services for your stay like supermarkets, banks, a pharmacy and medical support. Lecchi in Chianti with a bar, a restaurant and a little supermarket is only 3kms from home.
The villa is located in a very strategic position for mountain bike tours! The most beautiful tours in this surroundings pass just next to our house. You can choose a different tour each day, between easy and demanding. We have detailed maps of all our favorite tours and can help you in the organization.
From the villa you can start beautiful relaxing walks in the silence of the area, go jogging on the unpaved road along the woods, and cycle passing vineyards and olive trees.
Or take the car and quickly reach many wine-and oil tasting farms, special restaurants, an ‘Enoteca’ for happy hours with 'bruschetta' and visit the beauties of this country.

Dear Petra This was are 5th stay at Villa Lisador, which is an indication of how much we enjoy the house and where it is situated. We really like the swimming pool and tennis court. The accommodation is quite basic although very comfortable. I suppose someone way want slightly more modern kitchen and bathrooms, but this does not effect our enjoyment of the house. One small area of improvement could be ensuring all of the "essentials" are there on arrival, like milk, bin liners, loo roll, olive oil, charcoal for bbq, dish washer tablets - salt and rinse agent. My wifie Heidi is a architect and thought the property had scope to convert the downstairs which is currently storage and perhaps get more light in the property and improve the views from the living space. I hope you don't mind me mentioning this, but we thought it was an interesting idea. There would obviously be financial implications to do this and then the rental would be higher etc. I will look at you other villas again and we will consider coming again next year. Best wishes AndrewOwner response: Actually returning guests are the best indication of satisfaction and we are really very happy when it happens! Yes, the furnishing are very basic and simple: this because our aim is to keep the villa rustic with most Tuscan features, as we think that a very modern structure would lose the charm of typical local environments. So we try to maintain a compromise between modern and traditional. I appreciate a lot your wifes suggestions on how to improve the villa: in fact the windows are small and we could for sure try to exploit the ground floor: we often dream of this .. ! But besides the financial implications there are also the township restrictions which don’t allow to make any changes to the house, being this a 300 years old farm. We are trying to add more and more essentials for our guests for their arrival: such suggestions are always very helpful, thank you very much for giving us the opportunity to improve our service! So we hope to have you and your beautiful family back for the 6th stay at LisiDor!

We stayed at Villa LisiDor May 5-12, 2012, there was 5 of us including our 4 year old son. The Villa was in a wonderul location and gave us the Tuscan experience that we were looking for. We spent most of our time doing day trips to surrounding villages and as far as Montalcino. The Villa was also very close to Lecchi in Chianti where we did all our grocery shopping and ate at Ristorante Malborghetto many times, probably our favorite restaurant! Our son loved the lizards and the tennis courts, we spent at least an hour a day playing. The Villa and surrounding property are beautiful, clean and well maintained. We would highly recommend Villa LisiDor and hope to return one day!Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

We rented the villa in the first week of May and had an excellent stay. We were a group of 7 people and there was more than enough space for all of us. The grounds are so spacious and remote though easy to find thanks to the directions from Petra. The villa itself is very cosy and contained all the necessary ingredients for a great family holiday. We made full use of the tennis courts and the pizza oven which was amazing once we got the hang of it. The advice of the friendly housekeeper came in handy here though the language barrier probably prevented us from getting his full message. The bedrooms were spacious and the kitchen facilities practical. Unfortunatley the weather didnt make for great swimming conditions but in summer I could see it being used every afternoon. We loved the nearby towns and found day trips to Siena and Florence quite convenient. We sampled a number of the local restuarants and visited a few wineries which were great and easy to find. Overall, I would highly recommend hiring this villa if you're looking for a carefree, relaxing holiday in idyllic surroundings with world-class wineries and fantastic authentic Italian restaurants virtually on your doorstep. We would definitely return.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

Our family of 5 stayed a week exploring Tuscany and the location of the villa made traveling to Siena, Florence, etc quite easy. We loved all the beauty of the views from the cottage as well as the beauty of the cottage. The cottage is excellent for a family of 5 or 6. My daughter couldn't wait to side out in the sun and try the pool. Lots of areas to explore as many walking trails intersect within 100 meters of the cottage. Petra arranged bike rentals for us (they were waiting when we arrived) as well as having some local ladies come to the cottage and cook a fabulous 4 course dinner. She is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. She even called during our stay to make sure everything was OK. I would HIGHLY recommend this cottage to families or 2 couples who want an excellent location at a good value.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you so much for sharing your feelings about your stay at our villa! My sister and I spent many years of our youth in this area and we love to share our experience so to help our guest feel at home as we did. In fact, beside being midway between Siena and Florence, the villa is placed next to many beautiful walking which cross vineyards, woods, the typical Chianti landscape!

“We spent 2 beautiful weeks at this lovely villa at the end of May and could not have been happier with the property and it's lovely surroundings. It was secluded but within easy distance to many wonderful hill towns and vineyards. Our three young children enjoyed the pool, tennis court and running through the vineyards. I highly recommend this property to anyone who wants a relaxing vacation in this breathtakingly beautiful part of Italy.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

"The villa was just as we imagined and we easily slipped into the Tuscan lifestyle and made it our home for the week, enjoying early morning swimming and tennis before the heat of the midday. Sunsets by the pool and afternoon siestas. Day trips to Siena and Florence were great for architecture and shopping. The sunsets were best viewed from the top tower windows. We all have wonderful memories of this trip to take with us!"Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had an amazing time at your villa. The weather was perfect and the surrounding small villages were a treat. We loved the pool and the tennis courts and the beautiful view and hikes right out the front door.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thank you for the review. In fact what is a relevant plus to our villa is the tennis court which is difficult to find in the sorroundings and the many walking possibilities in the villa area!

My partner, our children, my parents, an aunt and myself had the most wonderful time at this property. We swam, we played tennis, we visited all the beautiful local villages as well as day trips to Firenze and Sienna. One highlight was a walk to Casanova Di Ama for wine and olive oil tasting, basking in the sunshine & enjoying the family's hospitality. Radda is a gorgeous friendly village and local restaurants in Lecchi and the pizza pie in Radda is the best! The assistance of Petra in answering all our queries and prompt replies was much appreciated. We would not hesitate to recommend the Villa, its location or the professionalism of the owners. The villa provided everything we needed for our authentic Italian experience. We can't wait to come back!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Such words are the most gratifying result of doing our job; thank you for highlighting some aspects which are absolutely relevant to the villa and its position.

Our family of 5, with 3 young children, just got back from a fantastic 2 weeks in Italy. This villa was perfect for us, more than enough room for everyone. I did a lot of cooking and loved that the kitchen was equipped with everything I needed. We went at the perfect time (late May) when the weather was beautiful and no bugs!! The pool was a bit chilly, but that didn't stop my children from enjoying it everyday. The villa is very quiet and secluded, yet close and centrally located for vineyards and day trips to the many lovely hill towns. The garden was perfect, and my children spent hours playing outside, running through the vineyards, playing on the tennis court and catching lizards!! A minor electrical issue was handled promptly the same day and we found the owner and caretaker to be extremely responsive and helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend this villa to anyone who wants a relaxing vacation in this breathtakingly beautiful area of Italy.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you Mrs. Kim for writing the review; I'm really happy to know you enjoyed your stay! In fact the villa is mostly appreciated for its central position to many lovely places to visit, for its large pool and for its wide fenced garden ideal for children to play and granting much privacy. Piero, our housekeeper, is our guardian angel: he knows the house better then we do! We are lucky to have him and the fact that he lives a few minutes from home makes it possible for us to give our guests a quick assistance.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1995
About the owner: My name is Petra, I'm 39 years old, live in Genova and teach tennis. As a second job I'm managing, together with my sister Alexa, my parents properties: I love to know when people from foreign countries come and appreciate our beautiful land and feel at home when they stay in my villa: that's my greatest satisfaction!
Why the Owner Chose Radda:
My father Enrico managed for years a wine farm in Radda in Chianti. He loved the way of life of this land, the contact with nature and the unstressed people living here, the delicious food... so he decided to buy Villa LisiDor to have a place to escape from the chaotic town life.
Not a long time ago we decided to share it with people who, as we do, love nature, the tradition of simple things and appreciate the care for every little detail, typical for a domestic management.
For those reasons we warmly welcome you!
