We were lucky enough to stay a month in Santa Fe and chose Gorgeous on Garcia as our home away from home. What a great choice! This home really feels like a home.....with beautiful and comfortable furnishings, luxurious linens, lots of supplies and other amenities. And the owner is attentive, and immediately available for any questions. Definitely a 5-star stay!

We found this home to be the best we have visited in Santa Fe. The furnishings, décor, quality of finishings, etc. exceeded our expectations. We loved the wood floors, Sub Zero refrigerator, granite counter tops, Tempurpedic beds, wood burning fireplace, etc. The home is close to the city center, although walking is a little further than we wanted. The home is tasteful and well appointed. We will stay here again!

Looking for a quiet place to rest, relax and refresh yet close enough to do some strolling, sightseeing and dining. We found THE place - Gorgeous on Garcia Off the beaten path (in a nice neighborhood), hard to find (all the better), cozy (with all the comforts of home) and beautifully appointed (Southwest style very nice), this was an absolutely wonderful stay for the three of us. Mom and Dad (retired senior citizens) and daughter (corporate exec) found it hard to leave at the end of our stay. The three of us take an annual trip and found this to be one of our most enjoyable mostly due to our accommodations at Gorgeous on Garcia. We'll be back again without a doubt.

I spent a wonderful week here with my husband. Our adult daughter joined us for three days. We have been vacationing in Santa Fe for over 40 years and have rented many homes. This house is on the top of my list. It is comfortably furnished, the kitchen well equipped and the fireplace was welcomed on the cold evenings. The location is ideal. We enjoyed walking to Canyon Rd & the close proximity to the square made it convenient. It was too cold to use the back patio table for meals but hope to return in warmer weather.

This Casita is the perfect, quiet retreat right in the heart of the historic center of Santa Fe. We loved the interior ambience -- all natural materials and colors -- and the attention to detail and elegance, including great lighting, comfortable furnishings without clutter, absolutely fantastic mattresses and linens, and the overall chic newness of the place. Fran, the owner, was a pleasure to deal with and responsive immediately. The Apple TV, provided coffee, and roaring fireplace were an added bonuses.

We recently traveled to Santa Fe to spend Thanksgiving break with our daughter and fellow UWC-USA students. Fran's Garcia Street residence provided a welcome respite from our busy lives. Walking distance to downtown and Museum Hill, the location is super -- and quiet. The home has a lovely southwestern feel with all the comforts. Super cozy beds, great kitchen, kiva fireplace, and movies on the big screen tv made our stay memorable.

We really enjoyed our stay in Gorgeous on Garcia! It was a beautifully decorated, soothing atmosphere. The location was awesome too! A short walk to a popular coffee shop, Downtown Subscription, and just minutes to Canyon Road. We will definitely stay here again!

This is a great property, very quiet and peaceful, in an authentic old Santa Fe setting yet equipped with all the modern conveniences. The property address is on Garcia Rd but is actually set well back from the road towards the end of a long gravel road with several other residential properties closer to the street. The house itself is really well laid out for privacy as well as entertaining/dining. It is also very well equipped throughout (kitchen/bath/bbq/patios front and back) and in excellent shape. My only suggestion would be to add ceiling fans in the guest bedroom and the living room: the one in the master bedroom worked really well to keep things comfortable without having to rely so much on the cooling system on a hot August day/evening. Fran was very attentive to our needs. When we arrived the cooling system was not working and the guest beds were not made up as a king per our request -- we contacted her and she had the housekeeper come out that afternoon to redo the beds and the cooling system was repaired early the next day. This location is fantastic in terms of access to Canyon Road and the Plaza area without being in the middle of all the congestion associated with those areas. The beds and bedding are very comfortable/luxurious and the house is decorated with care and good taste in keeping with the southwestern theme. I'm sure we will be back next year!

What's in a name?...everything. From the moment was passed through the welcoming portal, we were thrilled to discover that "Gorgeous on Garcia" sells the house short. Layout, decor, amenities, bed linens, mattress, location, location, location – this place has it all. You can also instantly feel the care and love that goes into making this house a “home”. But the experience doesn’t stop with the structure. Fran is hands-on in ensuring your visit to Santa Fe and the surrounding area is maximized: she’s carefully compiled a list of must do/see/taste locations (every description spot on); she checked in via email and phone to make sure all of our needs were met. There is no doubt that “Gorgeous on Garcia” is our new Santa Fe address.

                  Owner info

                  Year Purchased: 2013

About the owner: I grew up in Santa Fe and attended the nearby 'Garcia St. Club' as a young girl. I've always loved this part of Santa Fe and so pleased to own this authentic, yet modern, adobe. I left New Mexico to attend Stanford University in California and have lived in the Bay Area since, now residing in the Potrero Hill neighborhood of San Francisco. In the Bay Area I'm a veteran of several Internet start-ups most notably Match.com and TRUSTe (privacy solutions). In San Francisco, I often rent my home and my guests invariably remark on its comfort, style and art. I hope you will will feel the same at my house on Garcia St.

Why the Owner Chose Private Homes, Eastside:
To me, Garcia St. is quintessentially Santa Fe. Beautiful homes and 'compounds' adorn both sides of the long boulevard as it climbs toward the Santa Fe foothills. My property is nestled in a historic compound with an exceptional setting and location. When you enter the quiet lane and you will immediately feel the serenity of the natural peace and quiet and take in the fresh mountain air. On foot (and through the secret shortcut) you can easily explore the old adobe filled neighborhoods, jaunt over to Museum Hill, take an art amble on Canyon Road, and go to the historic Plaza - less than a mile - for the many restaurants and entertainment options. During the winter, easy access up to the Santa Fe ski area (16 miles). Inside: The home is quiet, warm and comfortable with all the authentic Santa Fe features you'd want: Viga ceilings, Kiva fireplace, hardwood floors and thick adobe walls. Excellent New Mexican art!

The Unique Benefits at this House:
In addition to the incredible location and setting, this home offers air conditioning, updated kitchen and bathrooms, large outside portal in back and private portal off master bedroom. The home is expertly decorated and includes all the conveniences you want including a gourmet 's kitchen with everything you might need. Check out the incredible New Mexico art (and a bit of San Francisco too).
