Our family had a wonderful stay in this cabin. We have been renting a cabin in NC's High Country every year for the last 5 years, and this was one of the nicest. The owners are very detail-oriented, informative, and pleasant. This shows in their lovely, well-stocked and clean cabin. The location is great - just off the Blue Ridge Parkway between Boone/Blowing Rock and West Jefferson. We could not have asked for a better experience. Thank you so much!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for your kind remarks! Come again!

This is a log cabin in the woods with all the necessary modern conveniences: large electric stove, full size oven, large refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, clothes washer and drier, dish TV service, computer hook up, a land line phone (no cell service), AC and a heating system. Both beds are very comfortable and there are plenty of pillows. The cabin seemed clean and clean sheets were on the beds for us to make. Plenty of clean towels, both bath and dish, were provided. We received wonderful directions and had no trouble finding the cabin. We never tried to find it in the dark. The gravel roads are narrow and steep in places. We were very glad that we bought our groceries in Boone before finding the cabin. We had four days of sun and two of rain with fog so thick we could not see the house across the street. Every day was special. On the sunny days we explored Mt. Jefferson, Grandfather Mountain, Moses Cone Memorial Park, took driving tours through Valle Crucis and Sugar Grove (found a Farm Festival), and spent time enjoying the Blue Ridge. Parkway. The best part was returning to the cabin and just relaxing on the wonderful deck while absorbing the view. On the rainy days we enjoyed being lazy, reading and doing jigsaw puzzles. One rainy day we did go to Glendale Springs to see the Ben Long fresco. He has more frescoes in West Jefferson and they are impressive. The cabin is comfortable for as many who are comfortable in the two beds. Access to the bathroom is through the downstairs bedroom. The loft area is very cozy but not particularly private. It would be fine for elementary age children but there could be a safety issue with younger ones. I would recommend this cabin to anyone who enjoys being in the woods while having the comforts of home.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: It is true that not all cell phones have excellent reception in the mountains. Yes our roads are narrow and, to some people, may seem a little steep and you need to know that the roads are owned and maintained by the owners and we discourage unnecessary traffic. However, the roads are well maintained and four-wheel drive is not necessary to reach any of the properties in our development. Many of our renters prefer the loft over the downstairs bedroom, and you are correct in pointing out that lofts may present problems for small children. I appreciate your very accurate description of the many offerings of our cabin. My wife and I take great pride in making everyone's visit an enjoyable and memorable experience.

This well stocked cabin, located about 1.5 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, was a perfect location for our vacation. We hiked to several waterfalls near the parkway, spent a day in Mt. Airy (Andy Griffith Museum), shopped at the Mast General Store in Valle Crucis, and enjoyed the outdoor drama "Horn in the West" in Boone. Evenings we sat out on the deck and enjoyed the cool breezes.Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Glad you enjoyed your visit to NC!

We had an excellent time at this cabin. The porch swing was the best. There were four adults who stayed here and we all said we would be back. The owners were easy to deal with and had it all ready for us when we got there. Very clean and stocked well.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
Owner response: We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Come again!

We had a great time. The cabin was very rustic, which we liked, and was well stocked with appropriate utensils, linens, dishes, etc., basically everything you needed. Of course, there was satellite tv and internet service, which was convenient. We really enjoyed the scenic view from the swing on the front porch. The cabin was convenient to the blue ridge parkway, where we took several drives and visited Cascade Falls, Grandfather Mountain, and Blowing Rock. We also took some side trips to Mt. Airy (Mayberry) and the Biltmore Estates in Ashville. Both of these places were only a couple of hours away and made for a good day trip. We arrived at the cabin during daylight, which I highly recommend doing. Arriving there at night for the first time could present a challenge. The road leading to the cabin is limestone aggregate and at one point narrows to a one lane, so I would recommend arriving during the daylight. Overall, we had a great experience, and would recommend it to anyone who likes to get away from crowded venues.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for your comments. We learned that our road sign Wild Turkey Trail had been stolen but has since been replaced.

We enjoyed our recent log cabin experience. It was a very well maintained property; all the conveniences we needed. If you are looking for peace & quiet this is the place for you. The only thing we were disappointed in was not a great view from the front porch but we did a bit of sightseeing and enjoyed the mountain atmosphere. Very close to the Blue Ridge- we took advantage of that.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thanks! We hope you will visit us again soon, as so many of our renters do return. You will be welcome.
