The cabin is very cute. We enjoyed our time and the peace and quite. The snow was a extra bonus. Driving was good ( I expected worse) We went to Boone and to Blowing Rock. Althought nothing was open,we still had fun. The views were great. We will be back!!!!

Our family had a wonderful stay in this cabin. We have been renting a cabin in NC's High Country every year for the last 5 years, and this was one of the nicest. The owners are very detail-oriented, informative, and pleasant. This shows in their lovely, well-stocked and clean cabin. The location is great - just off the Blue Ridge Parkway between Boone/Blowing Rock and West Jefferson. We could not have asked for a better experience. Thank you so much!

This is a log cabin in the woods with all the necessary modern conveniences: large electric stove, full size oven, large refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, clothes washer and drier, dish TV service, computer hook up, a land line phone (no cell service), AC and a heating system. Both beds are very comfortable and there are plenty of pillows. The cabin seemed clean and clean sheets were on the beds for us to make. Plenty of clean towels, both bath and dish, were provided. We received wonderful directions and had no trouble finding the cabin. We never tried to find it in the dark. The gravel roads are narrow and steep in places. We were very glad that we bought our groceries in Boone before finding the cabin. We had four days of sun and two of rain with fog so thick we could not see the house across the street. Every day was special. On the sunny days we explored Mt. Jefferson, Grandfather Mountain, Moses Cone Memorial Park, took driving tours through Valle Crucis and Sugar Grove (found a Farm Festival), and spent time enjoying the Blue Ridge. Parkway. The best part was returning to the cabin and just relaxing on the wonderful deck while absorbing the view. On the rainy days we enjoyed being lazy, reading and doing jigsaw puzzles. One rainy day we did go to Glendale Springs to see the Ben Long fresco. He has more frescoes in West Jefferson and they are impressive. The cabin is comfortable for as many who are comfortable in the two beds. Access to the bathroom is through the downstairs bedroom. The loft area is very cozy but not particularly private. It would be fine for elementary age children but there could be a safety issue with younger ones. I would recommend this cabin to anyone who enjoys being in the woods while having the comforts of home.

Owner response: It is true that not all cell phones have excellent reception in the mountains. Yes our roads are narrow and, to some people, may seem a little steep and you need to know that the roads are owned and maintained by the owners and we discourage unnecessary traffic. However, the roads are well maintained and four-wheel drive is not necessary to reach any of the properties in our development. Many of our renters prefer the loft over the downstairs bedroom, and you are correct in pointing out that lofts may present problems for small children. I appreciate your very accurate description of the many offerings of our cabin. My wife and I take great pride in making everyone's visit an enjoyable and memorable experience.

This well stocked cabin, located about 1.5 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, was a perfect location for our vacation. We hiked to several waterfalls near the parkway, spent a day in Mt. Airy (Andy Griffith Museum), shopped at the Mast General Store in Valle Crucis, and enjoyed the outdoor drama "Horn in the West" in Boone. Evenings we sat out on the deck and enjoyed the cool breezes.

We had an excellent time at this cabin. The porch swing was the best. There were four adults who stayed here and we all said we would be back. The owners were easy to deal with and had it all ready for us when we got there. Very clean and stocked well.

We had a great time. The cabin was very rustic, which we liked, and was well stocked with appropriate utensils, linens, dishes, etc., basically everything you needed. Of course, there was satellite tv and internet service, which was convenient. We really enjoyed the scenic view from the swing on the front porch. The cabin was convenient to the blue ridge parkway, where we took several drives and visited Cascade Falls, Grandfather Mountain, and Blowing Rock. We also took some side trips to Mt. Airy (Mayberry) and the Biltmore Estates in Ashville. Both of these places were only a couple of hours away and made for a good day trip. We arrived at the cabin during daylight, which I highly recommend doing. Arriving there at night for the first time could present a challenge. The road leading to the cabin is limestone aggregate and at one point narrows to a one lane, so I would recommend arriving during the daylight. Overall, we had a great experience, and would recommend it to anyone who likes to get away from crowded venues.

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Owner response: Thank you for your comments. We learned that our road sign Wild Turkey Trail had been stolen but has since been replaced.

We enjoyed our recent log cabin experience. It was a very well maintained property; all the conveniences we needed. If you are looking for peace & quiet this is the place for you. The only thing we were disappointed in was not a great view from the front porch but we did a bit of sightseeing and enjoyed the mountain atmosphere. Very close to the Blue Ridge- we took advantage of that.

Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

Owner response: Thanks! We hope you will visit us again soon, as so many of our renters do return. You will be welcome.

This was a 45th wedding anniversary trip for us! We loved everything...the cabin was great, we saw lots of fall colors/leaves, visited all the local sights - Chimney Rock, Blowing Rock, and Grandfather Mountain-Rock. Plus Boone, W. Jefferson (cheese & farmers market). Did a genology trip to Salisbury, Lexington, Welcome, and Virginia-Tenn! The Blue Ridge Parkway and the wonderfull sights and exhibits. The Daniel Boone Restaurant was good food & service. Thanks for a great memory. We hope to be back. P.S. We even did 10 miles on the A.T.!!

My family and I had a wonderful time in your cabin! The cabin is just as it looks in the pictures, very welcoming and peaceful (just what you need when you have a five year old and 2 seven month olds)! We enjoyed the area around the cabin (close to Boone and Tweetsie and The Blowing Rock). We all enjoyed it so much that no one wanted to go home! Thank you for sharing your cabin with us!

We loved our week in the cabin and wished we'd had longer. The accommodation lived up to expectations- it was comfortable, cosy and well appointed; (everything was there, with the exception of a hairdryer and kettle). However, it's worth noting that the bathroom is accessed through the downstairs bedroom. The spacious deck was just great to sit out on and the views were lovely. The situation was convenient, near to the Blue Ridge Parkway and not far from Boone. A holiday to remember, for all the best reasons.

My husband and I stayed last December (2010), for a brief getaway after our daughter's wedding! We have rented several different cabins in the area, and this one was one of the best. The owner was very hospitable, as we didn't reserve the cabin ahead of time! He was so gracious in letting us do everything over the cell phone! The cabin is so cozy and the decor is just right! I'm planning on taking my Dad for his birthday in October, and hope we can rent this one!

This is not just a cabin. It's a little piece of heaven! We couldn't have chosen a better location for our time in the area. We had several things planned during our stay, but once we got settled into the cabin, I think I would have been more than content just staying right here the whole time. You can really tell this place has been a labor of love, I think I spent an hour just admiring all the details that combined to make this cottage quaint and cozy. Truly you all have thought of everything anyone could need here, right down to a walking stick and a gravy boat! I certainly hope we have an opportunity to come this way again. If we do, our first choice accommodations will be your cabin on Wild Turkey Trail. Thanks for making this leg of our vacation so memorable!

Had a nice time in the cabin. Thanks. You were a gracious host. Liked the nostalgia of the screened door. I have pleasant memories of my grandparents place with the door4's creak slam shot noise. The expansive front porch and swing welcomed us too. We saw 3 deer and saw two shooting stars. It is nice to really see the stars without the city lights obscuring their intensity. We selected a Christmas tree and enjoyed hot cocoa and spiced cider. We had a pleasant stay and thank you for a memorable stay. Merry Christmas

Just wanted to thank you for letting us share in your "piece of heaven". The cabin was wonderful, peaceful and extremely clean. We loved sitting on the deck enjoying the view and the sounds of the baby birds that were in the small tin pail beside the swing! The cabin was also nice because we weren't in the hustle and bustle of any towns but not too far from any desired vacation sights. Thank you again for sharing your beautiful place. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this wonderfull log home, far from the hustle & bustle of the city. We couldn't have asked for a more relaxing setting as we explored all that the Blue Ridge mountains had to offer. And, as residents of a Big Ten football town (W. Lafayette is home to Purdue University), we extend our hearty congrats to the Mountaineers of ASU (in Boone, NC) for kicking some Michigan butt in the Big House (34-32)!! Back on subject ... we would recommend this vacation rental to anyone who enjoys the peace and quite of of a serene mountain setting. You won't want to go back home after a vacation stay in this well appointed log cabin.

Your cabin was absolutely wonderful. The inside was warm and cozy and we loved the outside deck. There's nothing like relaxing and "rocking" on a front porch! It was in a beautiful location, yet close to West Jefferson and Boone. We were so excited to discover how close the cabin was to the Blue Ridge Parkway...right up over the mountain ridge. Our entire week was simply perfect. Can't wait to come back.
