A wonderful time was had by all – big and small! We were so pleased the owners had thought of every little thing for everyone - 2 legged & 4 legged. The sandbox, paddleboat, lake and large yard were well used on the sunny days. And it was even nice to have a rainy day to enjoy a cozy fire in the fireplace and a ping pong tournament. We brought some lunch to the island in the lake and explored with the kids and dogs. All week we fed the fish but on the last day we caught some! It was so nice to have a place to vacation that welcomed the furry members of our family. We respected the boundaries set by the owners and hope all future guests do the same so we can all come back together again!

Gorgeous, clear lakes. Being able to see the fish makes it super exciting for young children! (And fish are easy to catch – at least the small ones.) The lot and lake access are very child-friendly. Extremely quiet and private. We had a wonderful time at the Kimball Lake home.

Family time

We spent a week in this beautiful home during August. Beautiful weather! My husband was in heaven catching gigantic bluegill, which we made a meal out of. We took advantage of some surrounding area activities. We took a harbor tour up in Duluth. Well worth the drive. It was very informative. Within walking distance from the tour is a restaurant called "Grandmas"! We all loved the food and atmosphere. Don't let the name fool you, it's huge and sounds like it could be lots of fun at night. We also took the Spooner train brunch ride, and the family favorite, Lumberjack Show in Hayward. This home is beautiful and roomy. The patio and yard have great views of the lake. The master bedroom and bath were spectacular. The lake was very quiet and peaceful. We had our own boat, and boated to the adjoining lake for some tubing! A fantastic time was had by all. The owners are super easy to work with. I even had to contact Jason after he had sent me my deposit back, due to the fact that I lost it. He contacted me the same day, with a good sense of humor!

Such a time! All went well! No snags, except PaPa’s lure in the shore tree!! Good meal of fish & way too much food! Weather perfect – not too hot days, cool nights, no rain. Thanks for the fun toys – boat, canoe, pontoon, paddle boat, hammock, etc. Neat fireplace! 10 adults, 3 grandkids & a tiny dog –type animal! Sooo much fun! Thanks!

We had a great week – all 13 of us! The heat (4 - 95 degree days) kept us in the water a lot. We caught a lot of fish. The power went out during a thunderstorm for a couple of hours, but just before dark it came back and we had air conditional for sleeping. We went to Hayward for lunch and shopping on Friday. It was another great family vacation! We loved the house, the lake and the pontoon!

Relaxing at the lake

This property was everything promised and more. Our group of 7 adults and 8 kids loved all the amenities, including the canoe, paddleboat and pontoon. These amenities paled in comparison to the beautiful setting and lake where the home is located. 8 kids, ages 9 to 14 never turned the TV on once over the course of our 1week stay. The day before we arrived a major storm moved through the area, leaving thousands without power. Before we arrived the owner had secured and installed a generator so we would have power. He also refunded 1 day of our rental fee. He went above and beyond to make our vacation perfect. Great views, swimming, fishing and a beautiful house . . . We will be back!!!

We arrived in the dark of night, under a blanket of stars shining bright. A house of 13, no beds to spare...a meal with leftovers was certainly rare! We went pinecone exploring, a little "water-pong" is never boring. There was Hayward shopping and upstairs plopping. Playing Nerf gun wars and making lots of s'mores. Oscar the grouch vs. pontoon man, passing cards between our toes just because we can! The crystal clear water with slime balls of green... Sheldon the snapping turtle wasn't even mean. There was paddle boating and attempts at fishing, the fish got lucky - they must have been wishing. Beware of the bear emerging from the woods, they walk on two legs and wear sweatshirts with hoods!! It was an awesome weekend with family and new friends, we leave this cabin knowing that the good times never end.

This week was a blast. The kids loved the lake, swimming, fishing was so fun. The house was perfect . We came in a little later in the year than planned, but everything was great. Visited Hayward many times and made great memories here. The weather was perfect everyday. We hope everyone else that stays after us enjoys it as much as we did. Happy vacationing to you all!

We had a fun week of family bonding with time reading on the deck, taking long canoe rides, playing bags and watching the tour de France on the cloudy days. We went to downtown Hayward one day and to the candy store and did a little shopping and the Friday night Lumberjack days in Hayward was fun. We loved the walks and saw a few deer on the way. This cabin fit us all and we had great family dinners and smores in the fire pit. Thanks for the vacation.

A great family vacation and Fourth of July. Lots of canoeing, horseshoes, swimming, and exploring the woods. Check out the great island in the third lake if your arms can handle it! The loons were fun to listen to at night, the deer made appearances and some of us even saw a badger! Thanks for the memories.

We had a great time this week in Minong! We were blessed with mostly great weather days so we spent most of our time boating, fishing, and swimming from the pier. We even caught a northern off the dock! Definitely check out Grandma Links for some great hot sandwiches! In the words of 4 year old Evan, his favorite part was, "tubing and boating...oh and fishing!" Middle lake is great for skiing and riding, Upper lake is great for loon spotting. We had a great time and make sure you have a fire before dusk! Sunsets are awesome here! Have fun and enjoy- we did!

What a great week we had! We were here with our grown sons and their families. Partly to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary and partly our youngest granddaughter's 2nd birthday. Beautiful piece of property with lots of "stuff" to make everyone comfortable. Our grandchildren loved the curved stairway, gameroom, loft and paddleboat. Kids enjoyed fishing, wonderful conversations around the table and firepit. After our children left to get home for the start of school, my husband and I enjoyed some relaxing time and beautiful full moons and reflections over the lake. Thank you for sharing your home.

Great relaxing time! Fished, swam, sunned ourselves, ate, drank, bean bags, go-karting, shopping, paddle boated, canoed, ate and drank some more. Hate to go home to the real world. We saw the albino buck deer on I. Want to come back next year definitely. Not many bass. But lots of bluegills and sunfish. I loved everything! Save us a week next August. I loved sleeping in the loft! The 5 disk cd player was a Godsend! We mixed family tunes and partied on the patio. Very relaxing and fun for the tween/teens. Nice quiet lake and oh-so-clear! Hayward was a cute town and a good overcast day and money was spent there. Thanks again...lots of fun. Jeremy became a master fisherman!

Thank you for the use of this wonderful lake home. We spent time fishing for LOTS of bluegill, amazed by the eagles and a wonderful time with our family. One night we all ran outside to see the most spectacular stars. We have never seen so many stars and the Milky Way too! We also had many "firsts" with our son, first boat ride, first fishing, first real family trip. Thanks again!

Thank you for the great vacation! This home is very beautiful and comfortable. We had a great time hunting and fishing! The best part of our stay was seeing an albino buck deer! He was a full albino, grazing at the pond. Being 25 away was an experience we will never relive or forget! Thanks also for the recommendation for Pogos! Pizza and fish are great! We are hoping to make this an annual visit!

Thank you for providing such a wonderful place! It is difficult to find 1 home that accommodates 11 people so well. We saw bear, hummingbirds, deer and fish. We had movie nights and game champions in the day. Hope to return next year.

We had a wonderful, relaxing time of joy with the entire family. We were blessed by the beauty of the lake and lulled by the comforts of the cabin. We shopped in Hayward (several times) and fished often and swam and ate and played cards and enjoyed the fellowship. Thanks for making this available to our family!
