The long trip from Madrid (Spain) is worth it. Discovering the garden island with its beaches, waterfalls, canyons and lovely people has been a life experience. The apartment is gorgeous, everything you can expect and even more with such amazing views. If we visited Kauai again we will try to be hosted here for sure, no doubt. Thanks for everything.

Arrived to a cute studio. View was good. Discovered leaking toilet which was beginning to fall through floor. Had to move out so they could replace floor beneath toilet. Allowed us to stay in main house. Then four days later had to move back to studio. Made arrangements to move things from house to studio before 10 am. Went to move things backinto studio and discovered someone else staying in it. Had to wait a couple hours for that person to leave and cleaning to take place. Delayed days activities. Asked for discount on rate for moving twice while there and was told " not a cooperation". Would not consider. Had to alao deal with roof leak above sllider door. Breakers kept popping and had to go below studio to garage area to reset. They lleft instructions on reseting the breakers but really? Not what I expected.
Owner response:We are sorry that you did not enjoy your stay. However, your comments are misleading and unfair. First, you failed to mention that the power was going out all across the island and you were here during the most violent rains, winds, lightning and thunderstorms seen on the island in a decade. We are sorry you were so upset that circuit breakers popped while you dried your hair. When we got your next complaint about the toilet, we had a builder here within the hour to check it out. He said it was all fine, (your accusation that it was about to fall through is just plain dishonest), but that there had been a leak that did softened a piece of plywood in the subfloor. Because of your concern, we had it immediately replaced. We were surprised at how bitterly you complained when we offered you an entire house, on the same property steps away - equipped with the best of everything and luxury and views, and which normally rents for double what the studio costs - for the same price. When the floor was fixed a couple of days later, you then complained bitterly again, this time about moving back up just few steps into the studio you were so upset about leaving two days before. We accommodated your request to stay another night in the luxury house. During that night, our housekeeper had an emergency so we let her sleep in the studio and have it ready by 10 am for your move. This also upset you greatly because you wanted to move in "before 10." And, of course, the whole time you were angling for a discount. It is very rare that we get disgruntled types who are never, ever happy. Yet, when we offered to refund you all of your money to stay somewhere else, you declined.

Mahalo for providing such a great place to stay while visiting beautiful Kauai. Already planning a return visit! The trail along the Na Pali coast was magnificent despite the drizzle and mud, (don't wear any of your favorite clothes!) and what a surprise to come back and find the palms hindering our view had been trimmed! Thank you for going to such great lengths to make this such a special experience. Enjoyed contributing to the compost bin and thankful for the 'green-mindedness." Aloha from Wyoming!

All the comforts we needed. Kapaa is such a great little town and we really enjoyed ourselves. Great food at Sushi Bushido, definitely check out Small Town Coffee for coffee is you are and early riser! Suggestions: Rent Kayaks and paddle the wailua river (or go with a tour if you need one), pedal the coastal path and check out HoloHolo charters out of Port Allen if you love the ocean (can get rough) and snorkeling! Aloha and Mahalo

We loved to be in this wonderful and cosy studio. The owners created a warm and loving atmosphere with beautiful details of decoration anywhere you look. We got married during our stay at Kauai and we enjoyed very much to have this peaceful refuge. This is a very good place to relax and to go on trips around the island. The owners helped us with every concern we had - as well before and during our stay. Sitting on the lanai but also just through the windows of the studio you have an incredible view on the mountain (sleeping giant) and the ocean. If you like seafood or vegetarian food we recommend "Hukilau lanai" near Coconut Market and we love the ahi wrap from the Kilauea fish market - near the lighthouse. mahalo again to P& D - we hope to be there again when we return to Kauai.

We loved the Green Coconut Studio, what a find! We did so many fun things on Kauai, our first time here. Loved he hike on the Na Pali Coast to Hanakapiai Falls, 8 miles round trip and very muddy. Bring a walking stick. The 11 mile hike on the Nualolo Cliff , Nualolo and Awa'awapuhi trail at Waimea Canyon has the best views. the hike to waipoo falls at Waymea Canyon is a scenic short and only 3 miles round trip. Kayaking down the wailua river was great with a trip to secret falls and fern grotto. Also did Hanalei River, pretty but our second choice of the two. Moloaa Beach makes for a romantic stroll. Anini Beach has amazing easy snorkeling with sea turtles and cool fish. What Else? Embrace the weather. You can usually find the sun somewhere we found , until the all-island torrential downpour today. Thanks for everything, this place is great. Sorry to take up so much space, but I forgot to mention thanks to the host for having such a great DVD selection. We enjoyed watching good films after eating yummy dinners cooked in your well-stocked and convenient kitchenette. Mahalo!

I am missing the Green Coconut Studio as I write this! What a lovely view from the windows and lanai. What a clean spacious place in a great centralized location. We loved our stay here. We were out and about every day until almost dark because there is so much beauty to explore on the island, but we loved showering, cooking dinner, watching DVD's, and sleeping in this studio. Great DVD selection, by the way. I would highly recommend this place and I would love to return!

Mahalo! What a wonderful place to spend our anniversary. Perfect accommodations, what a wonderful island. We felt like locals the minute we arrived at the "Green Coconut Studio." we thoroughly enjoyed the gecko in the corner of the kitchen, chirping and watching over us. The view is spectacular from the lanai in the morning during our Kauai coffee and looking at the Sleeping Giant. The weather could not have been more perfect. We highly recommend the power hang gliding with Birds of Paradise and riding Harleys up Waimea Canyon. The waves were perfect for body surfing and the cooler, flippers, boogie board and beach chairs you provided were much appreciated. Mahalo again!

My wife and I celebrated our 8th Anniversary while in Kauai and enjoyed our stay immensly. The fins and boogyboard, beach chairs,et al that were provided were greatly appreciated. No rentals, expenses, etc. We loved the view and the clean, airy atmosphere. Last week my wife asked if I could do 30 days at the same place and it didn't take long to answer. We wholeheartedly recommend this property. The restaurants in Kapaa are only a short drive or walk and heve a great selection. Thanks, and we'll see you again. Northeast Oregon

We had a wonderful time here in Kapaa celebrating J's 60th. Imagine our surprise at hearing the roosters greet J on our fist morning with HAP-PY BIRTH-DAY! Amazing ! How did you manage to make that happen? Recommendations: Mermaids's, Shivalik Indian, Shave Ice at the Juice Bar at the bottom of the hill. Also great volunteer opportunities at the Koke'e Reserve. Accommodations were great, geckos in the apartment in the evenings a real bonus. Mahalo!

What was to have been our second consecutive Christmastime stay at this property is best described as a disaster. First we were blamed because the owners failed to provided the advertised inernet connectivity, which is important for my husband's job. Then, after false and unfounded accusations, one of the owners (or someone acting on their behalf) made unannounced entry into the apartment in our absence, removing certain items on one visit and returning them on another. Insult aside, their bizarre behavior and treatment of us (including refusal to talk with us by cell phone and hiding behind e-mail or ignoring our attempts to communicate), we felt so UNSAFE that we moved out after three nights of a prepaid ten-night stay. Because we were forced to move on December 23, there was little to in the way of accommodations from which to choose on the island. We did secure other accommodations, but at tremendous unbudgeted expense. Our reasonable request for reimbursement of the unused postion of our stay has, thus far, been ignored. Forget about "the aloha spirit" or any common decency where this property is concerned. After six straight annual visits to Kauai, this experience has diminshed the magic for us. Be VERY careful before paying your hard-earned money in advance...you may well be buying trouble.
Owner response:Being that this is our only bad review, we were not going to reply because these visitors did not deserve any more of our generous time. But VRBO security demanded a response so here it is: The male guest was determined to find something wrong in order to have an excuse to express his tantrum and find another place. I bent myself backwards to try to accommodate this gentleman (with a huge chip on his shoulder) with a computer that had some firewall that did not allow him to connect his laptop to the network. I even invited him into our private home to check if the devices could access; His wife's device accessed the wireless network fine. Inaccurate to say the advertised internet service was not offered. I have copies of emails and a message on my voice mail of neighbors that called saying the alarm in the rental was loud and ringing and ringing. We asked these guests to please make sure to turn off the alarm when they left. I contacted Mr. ----- and he replied that there was no alarm ringing and was always rude, with attitude as if somehow we weren't doing enough. Again the neighbors complained about the alarm going off, so we had to enter and remove the alarm from the unit (the alarm also has an ipod charger...). Here is a transcript of the email from neighbors: " From: --- ----- <-----@aol.com> Subject: High Pitched Beeping Date: December 21, 2010 2:30:00 PM HST To: ----- ------ <-----@me.com> Cc: ----------@aol.com Hi Pat, Just left you na phone message too. There seems to be an high pitched beeping coming from your upstairs ohana suite; maybe like an alarm clock going off but more like some electronic equipment is sounding. Is there some way we can get in to check or perhaps you could call Abby? Let us know OK?" The complainers just left and by email explained they did not feel safe (what a joke if you knew the cul-de-sac and neighborhood and neighbors!!) and asked for a refund. We have a very clear cancelation policy: if the place can be rebooked, your $ is refunded. They left because we the owners after notifying the guests of the alarm sounds, removed the clock that was going off at times when they were not at the apartment, at the request of the neighbors (3 of them) and they were not feeling safe? Please let me know if you need more evidence of malicious intent in this case.
