Two guest houses are available for weekly rental at Valley View Farm.
Both guest houses are located at Valley View Farm, at the top of Warfield Mountain. You will wake up to find yourself on top of the world. We are just minutes from Berkshire East Ski Area, Zoar Outdoor rafting and zip-lining, and Crab Apple rafting. Your stay comes with a voucher for $10 off each lift ticket purchased at Berkshire East. We offer on-site mountain biking trails, guided horseback riding, llama picnic treks, and miles of wooded trails for hiking, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing.
In the Main House, you will find seven private bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. The Bungalow has five bedrooms and three bathrooms. Nothing beats sitting in front of a glowing fireplace after a long day of skiing or hiking, and guests can do just that with our working fireplace. Our guest houses are available by the week. Check-in is 3:00 pm on Monday, and check-out is the following Sunday by 11:00 am. A full farm fresh breakfast is provided each morning by our inn-keepers. Choose from pancakes, bacon, sausage, French toast, eggs, fruit, omelets, muffins, fresh baked cinnamon buns, and much more.
Our housekeeping service consists of keeping the house neat and tidy, making up the beds, and cooking and cleaning up breakfast. Our hostesses live on site so they are available to help our guests with anything they may need.
Valley View Farm has so much to offer in addition to the guest houses and farm animals. You will find an on-site restaurant that features our own grass-fed beef, and daily specials using garden fresh vegetables grown on the farm. Our menu offers everything from burgers and hand tossed pizza, to Filet Mignon cooked just how you like it. We have a full bar, and your choice of a fine dining room or the relaxed atmosphere of our pub.
Our wedding facilities offer a spectacular setting for you and your guests. Our three reception sites offer everything from intimate to grand. We have an outdoor pavilion for receptions capable of holding up to 200 people. The gazebo is simply perfect for the ceremony with its surrounding gardens and sweeping views of the valley. Our Basset room is ideal for indoor wedding receptions and functions. For more intimate events, try the Warfield Room with its cozy stone fireplace and expansive mountain views. The Warfield House Inn at Valley View Farm is the perfect backdrop for your wedding.
These facilities make us an ideal location for family groups, yoga seminars, hobby groups, and business meetings as well.

You can also enjoy music and dance at Jacob?s Pillow Dance Festival and the famous Tanglewood concerts- a one hour drive.
Unique Benefits:
Valley View Farm has been in the Warfield Family since 1868, and is still a working farm complete with Hereford beef cattle, trail horses, chickens, sheep, pigs and llamas. Most of the farm?s 530 acres are woods, with a lacework of trails leading to beautiful brook side gardens and scenic picnic areas. Farm fresh eggs are served with breakfast, along with our very own pure maple syrup that is made here on the farm.
Guests are welcome to join in with the farm chores, such as collecting eggs from the chicken coop for breakfast. It's a great way to learn the day to day operation of a farm.
With our barn-yard tour, you get a chance to meet each of our animals, as well as take a tour of our sugar house and antique sawmill. A unique way to explore Valley View Farm?s expansive property is by horseback. We offer guided trail rides that include lunch at a picnic site with an absolutely stunning view of the mountains and river valley. Another great way to enjoy the outdoors is with a llama picnic trek.
NEMBA (New England Mountain Bike Association) trails connect our trail system with the neighboring properties of Zoar Outdoor and Berkshire East, providing miles of mountain bike trails of all skill levels.

Year Purchased: 1868
About: John Warfield Glaze's mother, Marjorie Warfield was born and grew up on Valley View Farm. My great grandfather, Edward Warfield, bought the property in 1868. He built a large barn, a house and sheds including an ice house. His son Herbert, my grandfather, built the bungalow so my mother could spend her summers on the farm. We came here every summer from 1930 to 1943 when I went into the service. Those summers were so much fun that I learned to love the farm and farm life and appreciate the shear beauty of this place and its surroundings. After the war I started a manufacturing business in Westfield, MA. My mother's brother Horace and his wife Agnes lived and worked on the farm. They had no children. My uncle died in 1962 then my aunt died in 1977 leaving me the farm. I re-stocked the farm and turned it back into a working farm but found it impossible to run a business in Westfield and a farm here in Charlemont. I decided to change course and turn the farm into an agri-tourist venture. I built a restaurant and in 2000 turned the two houses into B&B facilities. This year 2013, we are changing over to renting the two houses by the week while continuing to honor weddings and will re-open the restaurant by May 2. John Warfield Glaze.
