St. Augustine house description
For your convenience and peace-of-mind, we now accept VISA and Mastercard!
You won't want to leave this BRAND NEW, fully-renovated beach cottage! Immaculate, fresh, clean, and uncluttered; fully renovated in 2010! Just 2/10 of a mile to the beach in Vilano Beach, St. Augustine.
Located on a quiet, low-traffic street, this beach house comfortably accommodates eight, with four bedrooms and two full baths. You will wake up refreshed and invigorated after sleeping on any one of the super-comfy memory foam mattresses.
O'Cottage by the Sea is the ideal place to marry a beach vacation with sight-seeing, relaxing, fine dining, and world-class golf!
Our home is just one block to the sand (with no busy road to cross), a 5-minute-drive to historic St. Augustine, the oldest city in America, and a 25-minute-drive along traffic-free, scenic A1A to Ponte Vedra Beach, home of the Players' Club Championship (TPC) and AAA five diamond rated Ponte Vedra Inn and Club (think spa, ladies, and golf, gentlemen).
You can also walk to the Vilano Fishing Pier, where you can rent a boat at Bay Ray Boat Rentals or pick up a pizza at Benito's (we love their white pizza).
There is a convenience store within walking distance, too! A brand-new, full-service Publix grocery store is two blocks from the house--even closer than the convenience store!
Our two-story beach house has four bedrooms, two full baths, and two living areas (the family room is downstairs; the living room is upstairs). Enjoy morning coffee (or evening margaritas - yum!) listening to ocean waves and feeling ocean breezes on the big front deck.
Each floor has a living area (equipped with a flat-screen TV and blu-ray player), a queen-sized bedroom, a bedroom with two single beds, and a full bath; this set-up is perfect for two families sharing a vacation to have their own floor and have a little privacy at the end of a great day of sight-seeing, swimming, sunning, and relaxing! The kitchen is on the second floor and is open to the living room.
You'll want to be a kid again and sleep in the cozy bunk beds on the first floor (the bottom bunk is highly recommended for napping and reading) and lounge on the over-size memory foam beanbag chairs in front of the 60-inch TV.
There are hardwood floors throughout, except for the tiled baths and entryway. The fully-equipped kitchen features granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. The upstairs bath features a jetted tub and dual sinks. The home is equipped with a washer and dryer. There are ceiling fans in each of the bedrooms (except for the bunk room) and the common living areas.
Everything is new and clean in this non-smoking home.
Cable TV, WiFi, and unlimited local and long distance phone calls, too!

- Vilano Beach is located at the intersection of the Atlantic Ocean and the St. Augustine Inlet. Drive your car on the beach or walk on for free and watch shrimpers, pleasure craft, and dolphins on the water! Vilano Beach is a skim-boarder's paradise! Fish off the Vilano Beach pier or at the ocean's edge. Tired of the beach? Drive (or walk!) over the Ursina Bridge into St. Augustine to enjoy favorite tourist attractions including, Ripley's Believe it or Not! Museum, the Fountain of Youth, and the Castillo de San Marcos; shopping and dining along St. George Street; tours on the Old Town Trolley. Walk through Flagler College's campus, where parts of 'Animal House' were filmed. Rent a scooter and zip down the cobblestone streets and admire the architecture. Drive a little further to visit the St. Augustine Alligator Farm and the St. Augustine Lighthouse (two of my favorites!). Have lunch or dinner at the nearby Conch House and sit in a 'nest' overlooking the water (be sure to try the calamari with banana peppers) or, if you are patient, wait for a table at O'Steen's for a seafood dinner. Hop in the car and enjoy a quick and easy drive on A1A along the coast to Ponte Vedra Beach, where you can shop and dine, or enjoy the spa and golf at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club or Sawgrass. If you need more golf, check out World Golf Village ('where golf is king'), about 15 miles away; you can also catch a 3-D IMAX movie and visit the World Golf Village Hall of Fame. Not one, but TWO, outlet malls are a 20-minute drive from our beach house. You'll find the JCrew, GAP, Aeropostale, Tommy Bahama, Nike, Bose, and Coach stores (among others) at the Premium Outlets and Kate Spade, Dooney & Bourke, Lucky, Off 5th, Gucci, Cold Water Creek, BCBG at the Prime Outlets. ...moreless

We had a wonderful stay at your home. Thank you! Your vacation home is absolutely immaculate. I felt like I was staying at a dear relative’s house because there was so much care and love here! We've stayed at a lot of places and this time I felt so much generosity and care surrounding us, not to mention a sparkling clean home! Thank you for helping us feel at home during our vacation. Everything was lovely!

What a beautiful home! Everything was clean and fresh. The decor set the tone for a relaxing weekend. Check-in and the reservation process could not have been easier. Great weather for beach walking. Enjoyed dinner one night in the historic area and the other on the water at Beaches, which was within walking distance of the house (and a good thing, as we arrived at Happy Hour, lol!). There is so much to do in St. Augustine and this is the perfect house for home base while you are in town for a visit!

Where to Start?
Where to Start?
I don't know where to start...everytime we turned around there was another reason to be happy with this house. The kitchen is gorgeous...the mattresses, memory foam I think, were so so comfortable. The kids watched a movie upstairs, and adults downstairs..that's when it rained. One morning we went right over the bridge to St Augustine...Otherwise we were at the beach, or out on the patio...we had every meal outdoors on the second story balcony....we will definitely stay at this house again if it's available!!

Where to start? Such a great house and location. This vacation property was perfect! My family goes to St. Augustine twice a year, and this was by far the best place we have ever stayed. We will definitely rent this property again. The rooms are newand very clean. I thought the best part about the property is its location. It is close to everything St. Augustine has to offer. You can reach downtown St. Augustine and the outlet mall in a couple of minutes, the beach is just up the street, and a brand new grocery store is ONE BLOCK away. I highly recommend this property if you are visiting St. Augustine.

House and Beach are Beautiful!
My wife and I absolutely enjoyed our stay in your beautiful home. We loved how close it was to both beach and Publix, its proximity to St. Augustine, and the quaintness of Vilano Beach. We were in town for our daughter's graduation from law school. We had an amazing week and didn't want to leave! We enjoyed how you decorated the home--it felt so cozy and be achy. The home was also very clean. Thanks, again, The Brannons

We had a blast at this cottage! Kids enjoyed digging in the sand in the backyard and we were happy to rinse them in the outdoor shower. Woke up early and walked to the beach -- it was beautiful to see the sunrise! I enjoyed cooking in the clean, open kitchen and was glad that the supermakert was so close. We had a great time and that came all too soon to a close. Thank you for haring your beach house! We hope to come back next year!

A beautiful house and fabulous stay! I wish we could have stayed longer! Easy walk to the beach and grocery store. The kids had fun just playing in the sand in the backyard and running though the outdoor shower. Thank you!
