Can't get closer to the ocean. Direct oceanfront home with 3 private floors, all with private entrances. Each floor has a kitchen and full size bathroom. House has an extra large outside Deck on beach with built in seating. Private dock & private beach entrance. House is located in St. Augustine on the small island of Summer Haven. Located one mile north of Marineland. We are on a rare (for St. Augustine) no driving part of the beach so no worries about passing cars. Our beach is almost not accessible for public access, without climbing down some steep rocks .25 mile from this property. We are directly on Atlantic Ocean but you can also see the Matanzas River and the Inner Coastal waterway. From the top floor you can see the historical Fort Matanzas. Since we sit on this access the wildlife is amazing. Sea Turtles, Dolphins and Manatees go back and forth daily in front of this property in and out of salt and fresh water. Our area of the Inner Coastal sits on 25 miles of undeveloped state owned natural habitat. So the water is one of the most unpolluted water areas in the state of Florida which brings fisherman and birders from all over to this sanctuary areas. Our area is very private with no crime and the feeling of safety for those that want to let their kids go free on the beach without worry. No worries about a long walk from your bedroom to the beach you pretty much are on the beach all the time without touching the sand. Property next to ours is not developed so the property and house has no obstructed views of ocean from any rooms. If you cycle we are a few miles from some of the best mountain biking and miles and miles of paved trails, most totally shaded. This property is called an artist Haven, and The Center of the Universe. A very very rare Florida Beach spot. A Oprah book has been written here and countless pieces of art and song writing has happened on this treasured tree house property. Come relax and enjoy our private beach paradise.

This is is without question - my favorite place to vacation on Earth! I have stayed on all 3 floors of this house at different times - and each one has it's own charm. It's great for families, multiple families, couples, or just friends. It's also inspiring and IDEAL for writers, artists, or even small retreats, My kids actually think that this place is "magical" - and we refer to it as "The center of the universe". I grew up in Florida and have traveled the world (I sing for the band Sister Hazel) and there is not a more beautiful place anywhere on the planet... Best view in Florida. PERIOD. It's situated in a very unique spot on both the Atlantic Ocean and Matanzas inlet. We spend our days swimming, shelling, surfing, exploring, sunning, paddle boarding, walking on the beach, playing ball, or just sitting on the porches or hammock marveling at the waves, tide changes, playful dolphins, and the beautiful birds. We can easily watch the kids (mine are ages 7, 10,& 12) playing safely on the nearly private beach right from the porch. The beach is literally just a few feet from the house. It's the best quality time our family has all year long and we all love it! There is so much beauty in EVERY direction that it's truly hard to comprehend. The house itself is absolutely one of a kind - and it oozes character and creativity. Very unique - nothing cookie cutter about this place. I've had the most fun, satisfying, and joyful times of my life while staying at this VERY special house... Historical and beautiful St. Augustine is only about 20 mins north - straight up A1A.. And Flagler Beach is only about 20 mins to the South. Lynne and Sander Kaplan (owners of the house) are truly wonderful and kind people who love sharing the magic of this house with others. If you are a beach person like me - trust me, this will quickly be your new favorite place too!! We stayed here for 4th of July with another family and had the most wonderful time! Kids all really enjoyed the changing tides and having a private yard and deck to play on. Adults were able to relax and enjoy the amazing view and wonderful Atlantic breeze. We stayed on the ground floor, which was perfect for my family of 3. The shower is awesome! It is a definate retreat from the hectic pace and fosters a family vacation of relaxation and back to nature. I would highly recommend it.. Lynne and Sander make sure that you have everything you need.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

What a vacation gem this beach house is! The house itself is so unique and charming--like a tree house overlooking the beach. The beach view is amazing! It is located on an inlet so when the tide goes out, there is an incredible tide pool to explore. There is a great seafood restaurant within walking distance as well as a convenience store (which is great for someone like me who always forgets to bring something!) The beautiful and historical city of St. Augustine is only a few miles away. It has many wonderful restaurants and shopping. We will definitely rent here again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This is the most special and unique beach home I have ever seen. It's cozy, charming, private, clean and fairly priced. It's conveniently located near old St. Augustine and still an easy drive to the attractions in Orlando. We will be back very soon. PS...having the little restaurant directly across the street and a convenience store for last minute items was a huge bonus.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This is my first review - but not my first time visiting this enchanting vacation home. Over the past 2 years, it has been my fortune to have stayed on all 3 floors! This home sits on Matanzas Inlet - the most interesting/ever changing waterway I have seen. During a day, one can see fishing boats, pleasure boats, paddle surfers and any other kind of water vessel traveling in and out of the Inlet. Then, when tide moves out - and it does, amazingly, out to horizon - one sees the floor of the ocean uncovered (for miles!) revealing what the sea has left behind - most amazing pockets of sea life and shells. Every time I have gone down to this beach when the tide is out, I feel like I am the first one to be there. Like exploring the moon! The house is like no other. Every floor has qualities to make you feel like you are on a wooden, rustic and cozy sailing ship. Well appointed - comfy beds and plenty of towels - and it is quiet. Oh, except for the excellent wind and crashing of waves. And, I must admit, in this very low key, out-of-world environment - I appreciated Internet & cable at my fingertips. That said - I never got bored sitting on porch watching the ocean at this most unique spot sipping coffee..or wine viewing this most majestic, lovely, virtually untouched area of the Atlantic. I promise you will love and never forget this place.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Best money I've ever spent on vacation! Everything works, the pictures are great, but just can't do the place justice. The beach is fantastic, the house has more character than most people I know! And to top it all off, the owners are gems. I just can't say enough about how great this place is. We have visited in the spring and fall, now we're ready to come back for the summer!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

I took my grandchildren and friends for a vaction. It was perfect we were all together but could go to my own floor when they wore me out. I have also been here with my husband and very romantic. It has a beautiful beach with very few poeople on it. My first visit we didn't see anyone else for the first 3 days. I also loved being able to go to town and shop or drive down to Dayton for the day. The owners are wonderful poeple and will go out of their way to make your stay what you want. Bring a family come alone its a beautiful, natural setting with everything you could want. I can't wait to go back. I go at least once a year and more if I have the time.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
