Balboa Island house description
Our beautiful 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths spacious cottage is “vintage island” in the front and modern luxury in the back. Walking through the front door you will feel the traditional charm of island life in the ‘30’s in this original shutter clad cottage. The cook in the family will be delighted to see the beautiful professionally equipped kitchen. A Viking Range, Sub-Zero refrigerator, and 50 bottle wine locker invite the chef to prepare gourmet fare.
The comfortable living room equipped with a gas fireplace, flat screen HD TV DVR, and game table, is a perfect spot to relax while the aroma of the chef’s creations waft through the home. Perhaps, the guests prefer happy hour and a grilled steak while soaking up the sun on the picket fenced brick patio. The queen sofa bed in the living area accommodates extra guests who want to stay.
The downstairs Cottage Bedroom is classic “old island” with a double bed, wainscoted walls and a ceiling fan. The Art Studio Bedroom is a bright and flexible room. It features two twin beds with two twin under-bed trundles. There can be four separate twin beds or two of the twin beds can be pushed together to form a “King” bed and the additional two twin beds are still available. A King mattress pad and sheets are provided to convert the two twins into a “King” bed. Coffee or cocktails can be enjoyed on the outdoor deck off the Art Studio Bedroom. The Art Studio includes a flat screen TV and DVD player.
The Master Suite is oversized and includes two walk-in closets. The suite is equipped with a King bed and two twin beds (a daybed and a roll away) plus a flat screen TV and DVD player. The Master Bathroom is a breathtaking combination of Travertine stone and glass. An extra large walk-in shower and twin vanities invite guests to pamper themselves.
This cottage home is perfectly located just steps from the bayfront, the charming shops of Balboa Village, and the ferry to the famous Newport oceanfront. Fashion Island shopping, Pelican Hill golf, and Laguna Beach art and dining are a short car ride away. Balboa Island is a central location from which to enjoy all of Southern California’s famous attractions; Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, Universal Studios, Legoland, Sea World, Six Flags, and Catalina Island.
Balboa Island is a perfect location for all ages and for both active and relaxing vacationers. For the active, recreations include biking, walking, skating, sailing, boating, kayaking, para-sailing, stand up paddle boarding, fishing, hiking, and golfing. It is equally appealing for those who want to relax and enjoy the sun with a good book, cards or a board game.
