This 4 bedroom 2 bath home is situated on a quiet cul-de-sac in Wyndham Ocean Ridge Resort. Just a short bike ride to the beach. The Plantation Golf Course winds through the neighborhood. You will be amazed at the wildlife you will see relaxing on the rockers across the front porch and 'settling down' on the back screened porch. Catch sun on one of 2 sun decks. Enjoy cooking with friends and family in the well stocked kitchen. Have a low country boil or grill on gas or charcoal under the house while you relax on inviting Adirondack chairs under the fans.

When we arrived to our Edisto Beach destination, we were pleasantly surprised by our accommodations. This house was just what anyone would like taking a vacation. It was in excellent condition, well decorated, made you feel at home right away. The four bedrooms permitted each of us to have our own bedroom and the combined kitchen and living room made it a great gathering to share our golf shots of the day. The Plantation Golf Course was great. We all enjoyed our stay on the island because if was not commercialized and all the restaurant were privately owned which provided us a great variety of food. If you want a layed back vacation, this is the place to go and we would stay at the same beach house.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Settle Down in Edisto. The layout of the house is perfect for large families or group vacations. We ate most of our meals on the screened in back deck, soaking up the sunshine. The front porch is beautiful and we spent several mornings enjoying cups of coffee in the rockers. There is a nice playground walking distance from the house that my (15 mo old) daughter loved. It is also not far from the beautiful beach! I would highly recommend this VRBO to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation in the south.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway.

What a beautiful home! I was able to stay in this house with several friends for a college reunion week. The house was perfect. There was plenty of room for all of us (five adults and two babies). There was lots to do at the property. We went to the playground, the indoor pool, the putt-putt course, and bike riding. The house was clean and had stocked kitchen (We were able to do all the cooking we needed with the cookware there). I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a safe, fun, comfortable place to stay in Edisto.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

Have you ever opened Southern Living magazine and wondered if those homes really exist? After my week at Settle Down, I can tell you that they do! This is an absolutely beautiful vacation home, and I would not hesitate to come here again. I have stayed at other VRBO homes that were nice, but this tops them all. The house is impeccably clean, the furniture is comfortable, the layout is perfect, and the four bedrooms and two baths accommodate a lot of people while still giving everyone a little bit of their own space. The four rooms are off either side of the main living area, and we had no trouble with privacy or noise even though there were five other people in the house. We brought our 21 month old with us, and this was the perfect home for her - very baby friendly and no indoor stairs. If you are thinking of a place to stay on Edisto Island, make your reservation at Settle Down immediately!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway.

"Settle Down" is the perfect beach getaway! The house is gorgeous, beautifully decorated & exactly as pictured. The kitchen has everything that you could need. The beds were very comfortable. Settle Down has cable, free Wi-Fi, movies & board games. We really enjoyed the indoor pool, walking on the beach, grilling out & playing putt-putt. We visited Botany Bay Plantation (where part of the Patriot was filmed). Some of our favorite restaurants were Billow Street Pizza, Seacow (great place for breakfast or try the shrimp for lunch/dinner), McConkey's Jungle Shack (great burgers & quesadillas). If you are heading to Edisto, Settle Down is the place to stay & relax! We will definitely be returning & we highly recommend it!!!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

A beautifully furnished 4 bedroom house that was great for our three family mother/daughter trip. So much room to enjoy together or find a hideaway for sunning, reading, surfing the web or watching tv. We loved the bike ride to the beach. The kitchen seated all of us perfectly. It was an easy drive to Charleston for outlet shopping and sightseeing. Edisto is a great island to relax on! We will definitely go back to Settle Down in the future.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway.

The house is beautiful! Very up to date with every amenity a family could want. It was located on a quiet cul-de-sac in a neighborhood with lots of amenities. The beach is a short drive/ walk away. About the owner: We have visited, rented and borrowed homes on Edisto for 10 years. Even when we would travel to other beaches, our kids would ask to go back to 'Crab Island'. They loved to visit the sound side of the island to search for hermit crabs in the tidal pools, dig a hole, try to catch the dolphins that swim close. Even though the wonder years are drawing to a close they still find plenty to entertain. Net casting, crab fishing, surf fishing, biking and the resort amenities keep them and friends pleased to no end. We love Edisto because it is such a lovely tranquil place. Where we have found the ability to unwind, unplug,(Don't worry, we have wifi and cable;)), and enjoy our family.
Why the Owner Chose Edisto Beach:
We chose this home for it proximity to all things wonderful on the beach. It is close to the Atlantic and not far from the sound side of the island. The marsh and marina are just across the golf course. Being in the resort is the only way to have access to the amenities pass that offers tennis, mini golf, 2 outdoor pools, one indoor (heated), access to the beach cabana on the Atlantic side, tram service,a top notch fitness room, and so much more. Amenities cards are available upon arrival at the Wyndham Activities Center for $125 per week per family. Day rates are available. Call Activites Center for more details.843-869-4531.
Edisto has public beach accesses at nearly every block. Our favorites are# 19-22on the Atlantic, and #35 on the Sound side.

Plenty of fun beach resort options settled between Charleston and Savannah for lovely day trips. Fabulous History on the island.Even more in Charleston. Also, great local shops. Short drive to Charleston's upscale shops and Outlet Mall in North Charleston.

King's Market(Grab a tomato pie, casserole, desserts or out of this world pimento Cheese!!!). The Sweet Grass Basket Stand for some local Gulla hand woven art. Finally, stop at Flowers Seafood for some fresh shrimp to take back to the house to boil, or let them fry/boil it for you!
The Serpentarium, Go Crabbing on the dock at Steamboat Landing, Botnay Bay, Pink Bus Tours.
Shop at Monkey Sea Gift shop, Edisto Surf Shop, Island Outfitters.Edistonian Gift Shop & Gallery/Surf & Turf Beachwear,Sage Studio Gallery, and more.
Favorite places to eat are Sea Cow Eatery for big Breakfasts, great sandwiches.. ok dinner too.. Great Chicken Salad, PoBoy's,and Shrimp n Grits!Awesome pies. Great Seafood at the Water Front.. Owned by the Flowers Familymentioned above, Get a great burger at Mckonkeys' Jungle Shack, and enjoy the fun and funky atmosphere there. Have a guys' night out at Whaley'sor the Thirsty Fish. Shoot pool an listen to music at the bar at the Pavillion. Enjoy a more upscale meal at Grover's in Wyndham or the Old Post Office out on HWY 174. You can drive to Charleston, but there is really no need;)
Or dine at the finest table of all... The one under Settlle Down! No need to dress up.. you don't even have to wear shirt or shoes!
