This newly refurbished and constructed honeymoon cottage is located on the edge of Lake Lure with dramatic mountain and water views. This rental is loaded with amenities- most importantly your very own boat to cruise the 27 miles of shoreline at sunset! A favorite destination by Boat will take you to a local fine-dining restaurant where you can park your boat and enjoy a delicious meal while viewing the panoramic scenery. Take a minute to feed the ducks or trout and then park your very own Boat in the center of the Lake to watch the sun set!
This Mountain Cottage is located just minutes from the town of Lure and the Beach Marina. A stone's throw away is the town of Chimney Rock Village with Chimney Rock Park and quaint antique and handmade craft shops, River Trail, and Restaurants. For
the avid golfer, several mountain courses are located close by.
The waterfront has two wonderful boat houses - one with a deck on top overlooking Hickory Nut Gorge with porch swing and table seating for eight and a beautiful Bennington pontoon boat (seats nine) with CD player, depth finder, and sun deck. PONTOON BOAT IS WINTERIZED THANKSGIVING TO MID-MARCH. Rates reflected include boat and hot tub included when they are not winterized. A second Boat House garages a Hobie one or two-seater kayak with rudder control and optional pedals (incl.
with rental fee all year ).
A spiral staircase leads to the lower wraparound decking on the lake front for swimming and fishing. Just a jump off the dock will put you in arms reach of a floating platform perfect for sunbathing and viewing Hickory Nut Gorge.
After a full day of hiking act like the locals and grab your noodle for everyones favorite past-time-"FLOATING" on Lake Lure is sure to relax you as you watch ducks, Canadian Geese, and the occasional Eagle go by.
The cottage includes a beautifully appointed Great Room with rich Brazilian Cherry floors, Fireplace with remote control and beamed log ceiling. A king-sized bed with fine linens and fluffy pillows compliment the expanse of windows that overlook a view of the lake and mountains. The sitting area includes a chair bed (twin size) to accommodate a child, comfortable sofa and coffee table. The fully-stocked gourmet kitchen has command center views of the lake with new appliances, custom maple cabinets, and a granite bar with seating for four.
The newly constructed Bathroom has a large L-shaped shower with dual shower heads, double sinks, and private toilet room. Spa towels are included with all bed linens.
Several outdoor areas include a large stone Patio overlooking the lake with a stone outdoor fire pit, rocking chairs, and breathtaking views any time of the year.
There is a Hot Tub above the cottage with higher views of the expansive mountains and lake below. This Hot Tub features five seats with four six-jetted massagers, night time interior lighting, and a relaxing built-in recliner. A quieter, shady spot would include the "bird's eye" view nestled below the trees in a soft, double-wide hammock for two.
Hot tub is winterized Thanksgiving to mid-March.

Our professional housekeeping will provide you with first-class, clean and comfortable accommodations. Special services (gift baskets, wine, champagne) can be ordered and placed in your cottage prior to your arrival.

Escaping the possible threat of Hurricane Frances was made extraordinarily pleasureable by the charm of "Chez Potter" and Lake Lure! The stunning vistas and offering of water experiences were exceeded only by the tastefully appointed lake bungalow.! Many Thanks
