"Green Door Cottage" sits directly on the water in Lake Lure. Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains it's perfect for honeymooners and small family vacation gatherings. The home is a charming, newly refurbished white two-story cottage with a green metal roof and green doors. It features comfortable furnishings, a large boathouse, screened-in porch, and expansive dock with paddleboat and canoe.
The cottage sits in one of Lake Lure’s largest and most desired private coves. The home retains all the charm (and more) one would expect of a lovely lakefront cottage.
Walk, jog, or swim around the private cove in this perfect location to enjoy the pristine lake and surrounding mountains. Tour the 27 miles of shoreline by taking a local tour boat available at the Town Marina. For the avid golfer, several mountain courses are located close by. There are also many activities in the area from horseback riding at a local stable, to shopping and antiqueing in quaint villages like "Bat Cave", "Hendersonville" and "Black Mountain". Hike at beautiful Chimney Rock Park, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Visit the historic Biltmore house in Asheville (just twenty-two miles away). The historic Carl Sandburg home is located in Hendersonville, NC just 17 miles away. Flat Rock Playhouse (also in Hendersonville) is a delightful, well attended event for theater lovers.
"Green Door Cottage" has central heat and air conditioning, and beautiful wood floors and pine ceilings with collar beams. It is offered for short-term rental all year. There are two cozy bedrooms and a sleeping loft. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed.
The second bedroom has a full-size bed, and there is a darling sleeping loft with two twin-beds. Both sofas make comfortable queen-size beds as well. There is one bathroom on the first floor, and a laundry room with washer/dryer, in the boathouse, which also contains a convenient bathroom.
The kitchen, with charming new pine cabinetry, is equipped with cooking utensils, pots and pans and dishes. There is a stove, dishwasher, disposal, microwave and refrigerator with icemaker. The home has two color TVs with cable, and a beautiful tiger oak antique mantle over the wood-burning fireplace.
Swimming is easy from the huge dock, with a staircase that goes down into the water for easy swimming entry and exit. The boathouse contains a paddleboat and canoe for your boating enjoyment! Above the boathouse, there is a deck, with screened-in porch, kitchenette, and jumping platform over twenty-six foot deep water for the enjoyment of thrill seeking kids and adults alike!
One of Lake Lure’s nicest restaurants (serving lunch and dinner) is within walking distance from this lovely cove. Cook-in or go out to eat as you wish! Come to Lake Lure. It is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Rest, play, and reconnect with your loved ones. We would be delighted for you to stay at "Green Door Cottage"!
