The house is on two floors consisting on the upper floor a large bedroom living room suite to include bath overlooking the ocean, separate shower, toilet and basin. Ample space for baby traveling cot, or a single bed can be relocated here if necessary.
On the ground (first in America) floor the remainder of the space is located. There is another bed living room suite consisting of queen bed, couch, coffee table and separate shower room. This too is located on the ocean side.
The third room consists of a queen bed and is located adjacent the main bathroom .This bathroom has a bath with shower attachment.
The fourth bed room consists of a single bed and can be used as a study. Sliding patio doors lead you from this room onto the large deck and garden.
The kitchen is modern and consists of American style fridge, wine cooler, dish washer and all modern cooking appliances. The kitchen opens out to the Dining room and living room. All these rooms open out to the deck and garden to the ocean and have spectacular views. During the summer months we place a six seater wood dining table on the deck, for day time and evening dining. The sun sets over Galway Bay and extends to eleven pm mid summer.
The gardens are preserved as natural as possible and we have opened a windy path from the deck and small garden through this area to the Ocean.
The front is maintained to provide privacy from the small street, has a gravel driveway, and ample parking for two or three cars.
The internal decor is finished in neutral colors, with cream walls, white drapes, modern prints, and contrasting Irish antique pieces. The bathrooms were recently modernized by the recent owner, and are well located. There is a fabulous ocean view from the upstairs Victorian style bath. The showers are pressurized and there is ample hot water. During the colder months heating is available.
The cooking consists of gas hob and electric oven.
You may not wish to cook too much as within walking distance we can recommend four good restaurants and bars. Traditional fare and music can be got at Donnelly's Pub, which also serves great Guinness. its traditional in design and decor. Further down the street on the Pier is O'Grady's, excellent fish restaurant, great for that special occasion.
The Twelve Hotel has great food, beer, wine and music. There is a great Italian by the Grocery store. Look out for the early menu in the restaurants they are good value.
Shopping consisting of a well stocked supermarket can be had in the village located between the home and Donnelly's Pub. There too there is a Liquor Store, coffee shop, Pharmacy/Chemist, doctor and dentist clinic and Vet. The post office is fifty yards further.
An ATM is available in the grocery store. There is no reason you have to travel to the city other than to view the ancient city and college. Check the Galway web site for all to see in the city. Quay Street is the restaurant and bar scene, especially loved by the younger of us. if you need additional on this we will be glad to help.
Spend time in the village, they speak Gaelic, you might hear the local people to speak to one another in Gaelic. The village is located in a special cultural area where the Irish Language is promoted.
