I stayed there with a friend in November of 2012 for a week and loved every aspect of this apartment on the tippy top of the mountain! I don't know if I have ever slept so wonderfully and enjoyed "staying in" quite so much while on vacation. It's remote and quiet, but it is ever-so-beautiful! You can just sit by the windows with the sun streaming in and marvel at the amazing view. We ventured out to surrounding areas every other day or so. It was wonderful to see some of the other towns and villages nearby. We went to Perugia, San Sepulcro, Monterqui, and others. We found quaint little places to eat in those towns, but we mostly ate breakfast in and enjoyed our mornings and the view. There is a little market/cafe at the top of the hill in the old castle, but their hours are sporadic (I assume they hold more regular hours in the spring, summer and early fall). We had cappuccinos there several mornings, and also picked up some produce and snacks for breakfast in. The photos don't do it complete justice. The fact that you're in the middle of a 900 year-old castle, while still enjoying beautiful decor and scenery just can't be captured in photographs. If I'm able, I will try to post some of my photos later. It was wonderful to have a washer and dryer in the unit. I had been traveling a bit prior to this stop, and being able to wash clothes was great. The bathrooms were both spacious and immaculate, with phenomenal water pressure. We never felt the need to watch TV, but we did flip through to see what channels were offered. Of course it was mostly Italian TV, but there were some international channels, as well. If you want to watch DVDs, you should check with the owner about regional format, and I believe they may supply the apartment with some movies in the future. There was also a chess and checker board there, and I believe some playing cards (we brought our own). You would want to stop in a nearby town for things like wine (of course!), snacks, produce, water, and any items to prepare meals. The kitchen is modern and fully stocked with cooking utensils and vessels, as well as glasses and dishes, so it would be quite easy and enjoyable to try your hand at a home-cooked Italian meal. This is an incredible home, and I plan on going back! It was exactly what I needed between busy "touristy" stops on my itinerary! I've recommended it to friends and family, and the management company was so helpful providing recommendations and answering questions.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.
