About Kihei Akahi resort:
Kihei Akahi is a condo-resort set in south Kihei on the sunny, dry side of Maui. The complex is directly across the street from Kamaole II beach, a wide stretch of white sand beach with calm, clear waters. This beach is family-friendly with lifeguards, restrooms, and BBQs. Water is generally calm with easy snorkeling, swimming, and boogie-boarding. You are within walking distance to tour centers, snorkel/dive rentals, surfboard/surf lessons, kayak rentals, restaurants and bars, general stores, souvenir shops.
The resort features 2 swimming pools, picnic and BBQ areas, tennis court, and beautifully manicured grounds with local Hawaiian flowers.

This Condo is located at the very back of the 4 building complex and proved to be much quieter at night than the last place we stayed at which was right next to S. Kihei Rd, so no road noise to deal with. The listing is accurate and the unit is clean. The pool and BBQ are close by as it the car wash area if needed. The unit is comfortable, great bed, and I can't recall anything missing in the kitchen. A few more plastic cups would be helpfull as there is no glass allowed in the pool area - common sense applies. The complex is right accross the street from the beach and close to lot's of good places to eat - try Ole Seafood Restaurant - went there twice, great food! Overall this place is great value for the price - will stay there again next time in Maui.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

Wonderful condo and great location. They keep the pool and grounds in wonderful condition, and Kihei is a perfect location for a Maui vacation! This is a great price and great location!Recommended for: Families with young children.
Owner response: I try to give the unit a cozy atmosphere so my guests can feel right at home on their vacation :). It is certainly in a prime location, and Kihei Akahi's management does an excellent job at keeping the grounds and pool in perfect location!

About the owner: Aloha- I'm a southern California native who moved to Maui for work in 2011. Although it was initially a temporary move, I fell in love with the island, and purchased this condo so I can always return. I'm now what us locals call a 'permanent part-timer.' I reside in Maui part of the year, and in California the rest of the year. Being self-employed has allowed me to travel worldwide extensively; I never thought I would want to return to the same place over and over again, but Maui holds a special place in my heart. On Maui there is endless opportunities to surf, paddleboard, hike, scuba, explore- you can spend a lifetime here and never find all the waterfalls and secret beaches on the island. For me it's my little spot to connect with Mother Nature, breathe the same air as the turtles and whales and remember where I come from. I hope you find Maui as beautiful as I do.
Why the Owner Chose Kihei Akahi:
I chose Kihei for its climate and location. Of the many micro-climates on Maui, I prefer Kihei's dry, sunny location, which is more conducive to my water activities. It's centrally located to access all of Maui's attractions around the island, so that I never have to drive far to get anywhere.
