We thought we'd found the best Hawaii has to offer over on Kauai, in an isolated beach house that we've stayed at many times; but Makena Surf is an equal! The property, and this condo itself, are truly awesome, and we had a wonderful 8 days on Maui. I would say that the information in the listing is very accurate. The unit is well-appointed and clean. Hey Sally, Just wanted to let you know what an awesome time we had at your condo again! It was our second time to Maui and our second time staying at your place. Even though our first trip in 2011 we checked out many other places while we were there. Nothing compares to it!! Walking in for the first time and raising the power shades..... All four of our jaws just dropped in awe!! We spent hours each day on the Lanai just gazing over the beautiful view. We probably caught 80% of the sunsets from the Lanai during our stay and I have pics of each and every one as they were slightly different each night depending on the cloud situation. The condo had us felling comfortable just like we were at our own house. We did not run across anything that we wished was there for our needs. It was definitely the best vacation we have ever had. On Friday none of us wanted to leave. I even checked the bookings the night before and saw that no one was coming in right after us. Got pretty close to giving you a call to add on a few more days...... But as life has it too many things already scheduled for the next week we returned :( My schedule would have allowed, but the rest of the family was not going to let me drop them off at the airport and stay a few more days in paradise!! I was out voted 3-1.... What was also nice was the second time. We were already familiar with what the condo had to offer, which was everything we needed, so it was like coming home. An even quicker transition to relaxing. Actually you even upgraded a few things. It was the first time I can remember (the second time was this past August) that I was not ready to come home from a vacation in my adult life! My wife and I were talking and as we all know there are many things in life that take time off our lives. I honestly believe that the 9 days we stayed at your condo (both times) we got some time back... Cheesy but true! Now there is a marketing point for your place to put on VRBO! :) "Add time to your life! Stay here" I know when we plan our 3rd trip. You will always be my first choice! About the owner: Sally and Bart Hackley have owned Makena Surf B303 along with their cousin (also named Bart Hackley) since it was originally built in 1984. They have also brought their two children in as owners in recent years. Most of the partners call Southern California their home and Makena Surf their second home. The family has yearly upgraded Makena Surf B303 just like they do with their primary residences! All of the partners are active in sports including golf and water sports which makes Makena Surf's location perfect. The third generation of grand-kids are enjoying now.......
