Villa Nuba was the absolutely perfect home base for touring Perugia and the wonderful towns of Umbria. This gated villa with a beautiful swimming pool and totally charming apartments was terrific. Our Host, Guiseppe, did a terrific job. First, he picked us up from the train. Then he spent another 40 minutes orienting us to Perugia. Finally, he did a great job orienting us to the features and appliances in the villa. In the above and beyond category, Guiseppe's father assisted my wife by arranging a dentist to attend to an emergency situation that developed during our stay. Overall, it was a magnificent visit!!

We really feel that we lucked out by choosing Villa Nuba. Giuseppe and Elga are amazing hosts.... The welcome basket of food upon arrival is such a simple thing to offer, and very much appreciated after a few hours of travel. Giuseppe spent time taking us around the key parts of Perugia and then helped us with our itinerary for the entire week. It was the perfect plan for us. We loved his passion for his community of Umbria. The apartment- we stayed in a small one as it was only for 2 of us. The apt was beautiful. Spotlessly clean and the kitchen had everything you needed. Having laundry facilities was helpful too. The gardens, pool, barbeque... all overlooking the landscapes of Umbria. They really did a great job renovating the apartments and both take such great pride in their property. After some sightseeing it was fun to come "home" to relax by the pool, have a glass of Umbrian wine and just enjoy the landscapes. We have been to Italy 6 years in a row, this is our first visit to Umbria. We will be back for sure, and I will be staying at Villa Nuba for sure. There is no point looking any further, it will be nice to visit our "home" in Perugia. Thank you for such a wonderful, memorable holiday!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Villa Nuba. The apartments were modern and well equipped, and the location, within walking distance of the old city center, was very convenient. Being just outside of the city it was in the country: peaceful and quiet. Plus, we appreciated having a private parking space within the villa grounds. Most of all, the genuine warmth and graciousness of our hosts, the owners of Villa Nuba, made us feel special and very welcome.

We had a most enjoyable week at Villa Nuba. The Nuzzacis were welcoming and helpful (just make sure they show you the switches for the electricity and hot water, or you could inadvertently turn them off) The apts are nicely furnished, very clean and well maintained; each has a washing machine, & the wifi worked very well. Supermarket and an excellent bakery are within easy walking distance. The medieval center of Perugia is uphill: walkable if you're fit. Villa Nuba is a very good base for driving around Umbria and southern Tuscany. Evenings we called a taxi (which always came promptly) to go into Perugia for dinner.

My husband and I spent our honeymoon in Italy, and since Villa Nuba was so highly recommended online, we stretched our budget a little to stay there, although really, the place is very good value for money. Affordable luxury apartments just sounded a lot better than our original plan of budget hotels. We never once regretted changing our budget. Villa Nuba really is, as the title implies, charming. Perugia itself is a quaint university town with lots of amenities and service people who are used to foreign students and tourists. Villa Nuba was conveniently located near the historical centre of the town (walking distance, but even easier by bus or cab/car). The apartments are recently renovated and the place itself is so quiet that we had the most restful holiday sleep there in recent memory. A little dust in the bedroom set off our allergies, but the rest of the place was clean and modern yet quaint, with a well-stocked kitchen and a nice little jacuzzi in the bathroom as well. The best thing, though, is that Villa Nuba is a family affair. Our guide and apartment manager Guiseppe owns the place, converting what was once his family's place into a few tastefully rennovated apartments for tourists. He and his parents live on site, so they're always there to answer questions and help with mundane things like ordering a pizza from the local pizza joint (Pizza Magic is the best). His wife also teaches pilates classes at Villa Nuba. Guiseppe was the friendliest guy, always available on his cell phone to help with a query, to suggest day trips, or to fetch us to and from the train station (he also does guided day trips for an extra charge). We ended up exploring the nearby towns on our own (the tour prices are a little steep although I'm sure the tours are excellent), and he was really helpful with logistics. We even woke him up one Sunday morning to help us book a rental car, the poor guy. The personal touch made a big difference, with yummy restaurant recommendations as well as a 10% discount that Guiseppe negotiates for his guests ahead of time. The service was the best part of Villa Nuba, and the whole family was very welcoming and genuine, including their two cats. We would make breakfast for ourselves to have at a table outside the apartment, and the cats were so friendly and adorable, we ended up buying a box of Friskies just to be able to feed them snacks. Between Guissepe, his family and the cats, it was hard not to be charmed. :)

Our family spent six days at Villa Nuba over the Christmas Holiday of 2008. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend Villa Nuba to anyone. In the winter, of course, the swimming pool is covered up, but there were many things for us to do, including making snow men on the patio! The accomodations were delightful, ( We stayed in the back apartment.) the fireplace was an added treat, as was the whirlpool bath. We used the bus to get into Perugia and back, and the bus stop is just a two minute walk from the apartment. I took several walks and discovered that the Stranierri building (Etruscan Arch) is perhaps a twelve-fifteen minute walk from Villa Nuba. The Fontana Maggiore would then be, I suspect, just slightly more than that. There are a well stocked supermarket just a five minute walk distant, and another 3 would get you to a very pleasant patisserie. It is important to remember that everything in Perugia is uphill! Giuseppe could not have been a more accomodating host. He was helpful when we asked him but otherwise scarce, the perfect combination. We feel as though we have a friend in Perugia! I just arrived home after a 6 week stay at Villa Nuba in the Del Bonfigli apartment. It was fabulous. The space is a delight to the senses; lace curtains, ceramic pulls on the kitchen drawers, a firm comfortable bed, a beautiful custom built fireplace, a well equipped kitchen complete with spices, a garden view with the Umbrian countryside peaking through the trees, a lovely terrace with soft voices of morning songbirds. The owners are wonderful and Giuseppe was unbelievably helpful. Any questions I had about the apartment were quickly answered and a short tour between the bus station and the apartment was full of recommendations for grocery shopping, a local pizzeria, the bus system, and nearby ATM. Giuseppe was generous with his time, providing pick up of my visitors at the train and bus stations and giving me general wisdom and language support in my first few weeks alone in Perugia. I would recommend the Villa Nuba to anyone wanting a short or extended stay in a luxury apartment in the beautiful historic city of Perugia

In November 2005 my wife and I had the great pleasure of visiting Perugia and staying at the lovely Villa Nuba for the entire month. It was a fantastic experience. The accomodations were everything we could have hoped for. The beautiful apartment was comfortable and well furnished with everything we needed for an extended visit. We choose not to rent a car for our visit and soon found walking to the Centro (city center) or taking the convenient buses greatly enhanced our experience. We can not say enough good things about the hospitality of our hosts. In particular Guiseppi who was always available to answer questions, provide helpful insight, and assist us when local customs and language overwhelmed us. We especially appreciated his services as driver and tranlator for a successful excursion to find distant relatives in a remote village in the hills. Our wonderful experience of Perugia and the surrounding area was due in large part to our most enjoyable stay at Villa Nuba. We thank Guiseppi, his family and staff for making our vacation so special. Without hesitation we would recommend Villa Nuba to anyone visiting this lovely Umbrian city.
Owner response:Dear David, many thanks for your kind words about Villa Nuba and about me! I and my family remember you and Carol as a wonderful couple. And i'm sure we will meet soon! ....in Umbria or why not...in U.S.A. ! Ciao ! With many Kind Regards Giuseppe Villa Nuba

Gentile signor Nuzzaci, here are two pictures with you, your mother and my wife (the one with me on it did not work out). Please feel free to use them for whatever purpose you want, and extend our best regards to your mother and father. We enjoyed our stay a lot and will certainly come back sometime in the future. Until then, all the best from Walter and Doris Krämer, Germany.

We stayed at Villa Nuba for 5 weeks in September – October 2004. It is very conveniently situated and, whilst it has beautiful views of the countryside, it is also very close to public transport, cafés and shopping. The centro storico is also within reasonable walking distance. We were delighted with our stay there and had a marvellous time. The Nuzzaci family were very welcoming and friendly. Our apartment was spacious, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Giuseppe and his family reside on another part of the property and during our stay they were always very pleasant but never intrusive. Giuseppe himself was always most helpful and assisted us in many ways from collecting us at the station to assisting with booking football tickets. We can unhesitatingly recommend Villa Nuba to anyone wishing to visit Perugia. We hope that all is well with you and your family. We are hoping to return to Perugia early next year.Tanti auguri,Shane & Helen McNamaraBrisbane, Australia

Ciao Giuseppe! As the ice and snow of winter make us long to hibernate, we long for Villanuba (and our "own" del Pinturicchio)! We had such a lovely time with you last October - everything you described on your web site was true, plus! - and then there were your hospitality and kind helpfulness as bonuses. Perugia and Villanuba were the perfect base for our in-depth exploration of nearby Umbrian hill towns (Assisi, Gubbio, Spello, Todi, Perugia itself (accessibly entirely on foot)), for Lago Trasimeno (Panicale was a treasure), for the Majolica you helped us to find in Deruta, and for forays to Tuscany (Cortona, Orvieto and Arezzo). We did this by car (with easy access to and from the nearby motorway), but our downstairs neighbors showed us that we could have managed completely with public transportation. We're already planning our next trip to charming Italy. Please give our thanks and best regards to your parents. And please do include any or all of these comments on your web site, if you wish. The whole time, the memory of the fun time we had in Umbria, and your beautiful apartment, and how very nice and friendly you and your family were, kept us happy the whole way. It's going to take a while before I get used to being back home. In the few hours we've been here, we've told so many people about your wonderful apartment and your generous hospitality that they all want to go. I've told everybody who has called (family and friends) to welcome me back that Perugia is the most beautiful town in Umbria, and that Umbria is the most beautiful region in Italy and its people are generous of spirit, patient and kind. Please write and let us know how you and your family and your girlfriend are doing. We hope everything goes well. Best regards and a big hug and kisses for you and yours, Aileen and Sara

Diana and I arewriting to tell you and your family how much we enjoyed our 2-week stay at yourVILLA NUBA. It was the most attractive and comfortable of all of theaccomodations we stayed in during our ten week trip to Italy and Provence. We were thoroughly impressed by the beauty of the villa and itshillside setting as well as the view from the windows. We were equallyimpressed by the inside of the apartment del Bonfigli. We don't recallever staying in an apartment, lodge or hotel room that had nicer furniture,décor and appointments. Every room was inviting and comfortable, and thejacuzzi bath was a special treat. What we appreciate the most, however, were your extra efforts tomake our Perugia experience easy and low-stress. We are particularlygrateful that you picked us up at the train station, but more thananything else that you helped us by negotiating such a good rental car price forus. We would have paid nearly twice as much if you hadn't helped us with thecar. Also, your suggestions as to day-trips to nearby villages made thewhole experience absolutely wonderful! Each of those villages was a gem.Again, mille grazie for all your efforts and favors. We lookforward to staying at VILLA NUBA the next time we visit Italy.Jim and Diana Kallmer
