Just got home an hour ago and couldn't wait to write this reveiw. Paul and Tris have thought of everything in this house. It is so clean and well equipt. I cannot wait to spend another week here. Good job at making sure our weather was awsome. Jet sking on the lake was so much fun. This was the highlight of our summer. Thank you again and keep up the good work. Glen and Michele

My family of 5 stayed at the cottage on the weekend of September 9-11, 2011. We were concerned because the weather forecast did not look good for our visit, but were pleasantly surprised once we got there. Though we did have a little rain, most of the weekend turned out to be absolutely beautiful and we got to spend a great deal of time at the beach, which was wonderful -- my kids were even crazy enough to swim in that chilly water! We got more time at the beach than we ever imagined we would, and it was perfect down there! I especially loved the renovated beach area -- being able to sit in a comfy chair with a beer in my hand and my toes buried in the sand while listening to the surf was just the relaxation I needed! The house itself is cozy and feels like home. It really does have everything you need -- just bring food. We loved the gas fireplace -- we used it a lot! The comfort level of the house made the few periods of rain that we had to deal with much more tolerable! Another thing we did while it was raining was go down to Mentor to the Great Lakes Mall and had lunch -- the mall has a great mix of stores, some that you won't find just anywhere (my husband and son loved the comic book store, and I was a huge fan of the Peace/Love store). As to other things in the area, I have to recommend Lake Effectz bar. Huge Steeler fans vacationing in Ohio for the season opener, we were pleasantly surprised to find a Steeler bar right down the street from the cottage!! The people were great, the drinks were cheap and the food was delicious -- try the corned beef Big Ben sandwich, trust me! One thing that I absolutely cannot go without mentioning is that I LOVED that the owners gave us our privacy while we were staying at the cottage. We have rented vacation homes in the past where the owners showed up to the property at least once per day to check on things, and it drove us crazy -- we felt like we were being watched. Paul and Tris were just the opposite -- very unintrusive, really making us feel like the house was ours for the weekend and not just their house that we were borrowing. I can't say how much we appreciated this. We really loved our stay at the cottage and can't wait to come back!

My wife and I stayed at this cottage during the week of June 11 thru 18. We found the cottage to be beautifully furnished and clean. We found everything we needed - you only need to bring food and clothes. Our duaghter and her 5 children joined us on Moday for the balance of the week. The kids had a ball. The private beach is conveniently located right across the street. The terraced area is filled with beuatiful Huron sand, and was a great spot for the kids to play as well as for us to enjoy the sun. It was a great week - we are looking forward to another week there in the future.

Stayed here the week after labor day. House is clean and it was nice to have the extra space. The private beach was excellent and a nice place to sit and watch the water and the boats. Lots of fun things to do around the area.

Our family once again enjoyed a great week at the Mihalik's wonderful lakehouse! The revamped beach areathe new flat screen tv, and the new storage building are nice additions. The storage building makes a great place to store suitcases and water toys when not in use. It's a wonderful place for our family to meet and spend a week together - we look forward to it all year!

My sisters and I had a great week at this cottage. Everything was clean and the house looks just like the pictures. We especially enyoyed having our own private beach. Found lots of sea glass and had some beautiful sunsets. We also found a few great antique shops and some bargains! Would defintely stay here again.

This is a lovely Lake House! The location is ideal, the newly renovated beach area is beautiful, the living space is generous. The extra shower in the master bedroom (which at first I thought a little odd) was a great convenience. We had a week of over 90 degrees, and the air conditioning was more than welcome. The music system, TV, computer setup, washer, dryer dishwasher all make the house comfortable. Paul and Tris are fine hosts, helpful and not intrusive. We enjoyed our relaxing week here! Thank you, so much.

The time we had at the lake house was great because of Pauls insight in what we needed. All we needed to bring was our clothes and food. The washer and dryer, grill, dishwasher and fluffy towels. My family lives in Madison a great location to viste family. My grandson loves the park and icecream store.Hope to see next year Paul

Our family had a wonderful week in this cottage in July. The Mihalik's seem to have thought of everything. We truly didn't need to bring anything besides clothes and food. It's a beautiful spot - great view of the lake across the road - a short walk to the park and the ice cream stand - lots of sea glass to find. We can hardly wait until next year!

I am a working gramma and once a year I rent a house for a week in the summer to have fun with my grand kids. This year I picked Madison on the lake. Our host Paul provided everything we could possible need to have a great time. It was clean and the natical theme of the house was very cute. The kitchen was well equiped right down to the dishwasher which was a god sent. Informatiion on places to go as well as take out menues. I was very impressed with amount of thought and time that was given to the comfort of his guests. The location was great. The kids loved the beach and the water. Sea glass was a big thing. We had waves and flat water which was clean and refreshing. Tubing was great. All and all I would give Madison on the Lake a big thumbs up and we plan to go back next year! My family and my sisters family stayed here for vacation. On the Friday before we came home our other family members came from Pittsburgh and my fiance and I were married on the waters edge on the lot across the street. It could not have turned out more beautiful!! It was exactly how I had pictured my wedding day. I am forever getting told how beautiful my wedding pictures are.Everyone ask where we went to get married. They cant believe it was on Lake Erie. Thank you so much Paul for having such a perfect get away. We hope to be back for our Anniversary. ~Mel&Mike P.S. My kids cried when it was time to head home.
