This classic house has been updated for the summer 2013 season and we are looking forward to our return guests as well as the new ones! The house has an open, happy feel with plenty of room to spread out and relax. You can watch the best surfing in South Carolina from the front sundeck or enjoy preparing an after beach feast on the large kitchen island. We have new beds and a large sectional sofa in the living room adjacent to the kitchen. ****Elevator**** Elevator goes from ground level to living area **** The master suite is private and off the back of the house and the two guest bedrooms are in the front. Your across the street from 'The Washout', Folly's premier surf spot and out the back porch you have tranquil views of the Folly River. Everyone comments that it's such a special spot. Come and enjoy!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the 'Blue Pelican' and hope to return again. The house was in well order and very clean. The kitchen was a treat with everything to make a meal. The beach is just across the street and the views of the water were good from the deck. Just wish we could have stayed longer. Lost Dog is the best breakfast and Ritas for Margaritas!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We stayed here for four days for my husband's work trip for the Charleston Food and Wine Festival, as downtown Charleston is about 20 minutes away, and my parents live in North Charleston . The house was immaculate upon our arrival, very roomy, and in the perfect location (near Washout, the quieter part of Folly Beach)! We could see the beach and waves from the living room. It's not beachfront officially, but it might as well been! Although the weather was not warm enough during our visit to enjoy the front deck and the beach itself, it still felt like vacation since we could see the waves. The house has a great open floor plan, and my twin boys had alot of room to crawl around. Another couple with their baby girl, as well as my sister, stayed as well, and my parents came over to visit during the day, and we had more than enough room. The kitchen area was large and a great gathering place for our meals. There was also plenty room for parking. The rental had just changed management companies aout a couple of weeks before our arrival, so I was a little nervous, but our contact Ed was thorough and readily available for questions before and during our arrival. The screened in porch off the dining area was nice and had pretty view of the marsh. The house was pet friendly before changing management companies and although we didn't initally plan to bring our well behaved dogs for this trip, for future potential visits, it would have been nice, as there is a fenced back yard and grassy areas, and beach access right across the street (one of our dogs loves the beach and Folly is very dog friendly). Nevertheless, we absolutely loved this house and definitely plan to stay again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Great location but the property is in need of some reno improvements. Excellent place for dogs. Generally very comfortable and quiet (February rented). Would rent it again next year.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, pet owners, families with young children.
Owner response: We have totally addressed and upgraded everything in the house and put it all in top working order. Floors are refinished, fresh paint, new mattresses, linens and towels throughout plus a new sectional sofa in the living room. We have a new cleaning service and we guarantee the place will be uber clean upon your arrival! Also we have a 'no pet' policy as part of our trying to be as allergen free as possible. We appreciate all feedback and strive to make your stay a great one! See the next review...
