Beautifully Renovated Old Colonial in Secluded Berkshires
- Minimum stay:6 nights

Beautiful, rambling 1790's farmhouse with plenty of rooms to get away from it all but close enough for all that the Cultural Berkshires has to offer! There are three bedrooms with queen and king sized beds and three bedrooms with single beds. Study on ground floor includes a fold-out couch for unexpected guests. One bedroom includes en-suite full bath. Second bathroom includes walk-in double shower and old fashioned bathtub for the rest of the upstairs guests. Ground floor also has a half bath.
The Snow House amenities include a washer, dryer, dishwasher, refrigerator, lawn mowing/snow plowing service, abundant parking, fans (for the occasional very warm night) are available for every bedroom. The kitchen is fully equipped. There is a screened-in porch with wicker furniture for the cocktail hour. There is also a patio (with furniture) for morning breakfast, or the evening barbecue.
This house is full of light. The road is quiet even in mid summer (we do get the occasional rattle of a car or truck going by) but you will have guaranteed tranquility!

We had a lovely stay at the Snow House while in town for my brother's wedding in September. The house is beautifully maintained and just instantly feels like home. Enough room for couples to retreat to their own space, while still managing to feel cozy. The grounds are just as lovely with gracious old trees and stone walls. My husband is a cyclist and still talking about the riding - especially the great climbs in the area. Minutes away from Lenox, Tanglewood, Great Barrington, Lee, etc. in a perfect centralized location. Can't wait to go back!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

We had a lovely stay in this huge home in February. It was large enough to fit multiple families and couples. We enjoyed a weekend of wine, board games and sitting by the fire. Pittsfield was 25 minutes away, where we enjoyed the children's museum. Some skied at jimeny peak, tubed at butternut and snowshoed at the Canterbury farms just around the bend. Well appointed , nice furniture and a gorgeous kitchen. Much bigger than in photos.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, pet owners, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2000
About the owner: This is our family home which we purchased to be near our extended family who have been in the area for nearly forty years. We are a trans-Atlantic family, having lived in Europe for many years as well. If it's of interest, we speak Dutch too.
Why the Owner Chose Becket:
This house was on and off the market for years before we bought it and renovated it. It has a long and interesting history too. The house was built, we are fairly certain, in 1790 and has had just one major addition to it since then. Unfortunately the barn collapsed probably in the mid-1990's. This was a cattle farm with a large apple orchard (the oldest trees still visible by the neighbors across the road) and originally had hundreds of acres, like its sister farm, 'Canterbury Farms' at the end of the road. The original owners were the Snow Family, of whom the road is named. We call it the Snow House for that reason.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
In our renovation work ten years ago we sought to retain the flavor of an old farmhouse but with modern conveniences. We are on top of Wadsworth Hill. As you drive up the road you will notice that just as the hill begins to level off you have reached our house. In summer the trees have begun to block the view, but still there is a magnificent feeling of being on top of the hill and here you will always catch the best breezes. For this reason, it is rarely ever 'hot'.
The house is quite secluded but wonderfully close to everything that the Berkshires has to offer for both winter and summer visitors.
You can be busy with everything that the Berkshires has to offer, or just spend the day with a good book, lying out on the lawn, or on our screened in porch and its view of our two hundred year old maple trees.
If cooking and family mealtimes are your favorite things to do, our kitchen is a dream. Gather around for a big family meal, by the living room fireplace or in the kitchen.
You will want to come back next year!
