This classic beachfront house is located on the private side of Goose Rocks and has direct access to three miles of pristine, white sand beach. Used by family members and a stable group of long-time renters, there are only a few weeks available each year. The first floor has a kitchen and bathroom, both recently renovated, one bedroom, and an open, integrated living and dining room. This main area has three seating arrangements, an 8-10 person dining table, a picture window looking onto the beach, and a flat screen TV. The main living area opens to the outdoor deck, which has a gas grill and an umbrella-covered outdoor dining table. This is a terrific location to relax in the late afternoon. The upstairs contains a full bathroom and three bedrooms: one ‘bunk room’ with six single beds, one bedroom with two twin beds, and a master bedroom with a queen bed. The front lawn contains Adirondack chairs and a low table, perfect for morning coffee. The lawn, which is dotted with pine trees, encircles the house and completes the setting.

Year Purchased: 1986
About the owner: Our family has owned this house since the mid 1980's, when our parents went searching for a vacation home in Maine. We're a big family -- seven children -- and the house has been a formative part of our lives. We played here as children, lived and worked here together as teenagers and college students, and now bring our own families here to play in the sand and swim in the ocean.
Why the Owner Chose Kennebunkport:
Our ongoing family tradition captures what's special about this property: upon first arriving, we almost always walk up the side lawn to get a look at the beach. Twenty-five years later, it's a favorite part of the ritual of coming back.
