About the owner: When we purchased the house, it was in rough shape cosmetically, but the bones were good. Originally a small fishing cottage built in the 1930s, the house acquired a large addition around 2006. While the architectural execution melding the old and new might have benefitted from a little more vision, the interior renovations we did make the most of cottage charm, while injecting personality into the new larger living areas.
Why the Owner Chose Jamestown: After having vacationed in Jamestown for over 10 years we found a great property that was close to all the action. Perfect for families with kids of all ages: for little kids, we are right next door to playground and close mackerel cove, for teenagers, the can bring bikes to ride around the island or get ice cream down at east ferry, and for big kids, the restaurant scene and music at the Ganny can't be beat. If you've never been to Jamestown, it's a quiet, beautiful island to get away from it all. But within a short drive or ferry ride, you can be in the hustle and bustle of Newport, Narragansett, or Wickford.
