The accommodations are ideal for families with children, grandparents or friends desiring separate sleeping quarters.
Unlike many other French accommodations, you won't have to share this idyllic property with anyone else. Whether you’re a party of two or ten, the entire estate is yours during your stay. Although you’ll undoubtedly spend many of your days visiting the world-famous nearby chateaux, wineries and charming outdoor markets, we hope you will also have time to fully explore and enjoy this exquisite and unique property. Take the arched footbridge to our island and picnic under the willows. Or grab a fishing pole and row through the lily pads to the center of the lake, trailing bread crumbs for the geese who will quickly fall in line behind you. Kids will enjoy playing basketball and foosball in our beautiful, 18th century stone barn. And everywhere you stroll you’ll discover waterfalls and flower-filled meadows. Even the woods hold special surprises – hidden World War II bunkers and rock quarries towering over lush carpets of fern. Centuries-old wine caves on our property are beautiful and intriguing. And, depending on the season, our orchard supplies fresh apples, pears, quince and hazelnuts.
Swimming under the stars and surrounded by nature is a special treat at Moulin de Malicorne. You can barbeque on the back terrace, just steps from the kitchen and pool for easy entertaining. There are four bikes on the premises for your use and others can be rented in our quaint village. Dusk is a beautiful time for bicycling down our tree-lined valley roads past fields of sunflowers and centuries-old troglodyte dwellings where Joan of Arc rested. Our gated, private property traverses Ste. Maure de Touraine, world famous for its goat cheese and 4th century tombs, and St. Epain, a quiet village with a 12th century church and 15th century homes. Both villages are close enough to bike to from the Moulin and minutes away by car. Famous chateaux and wineries can be found by going a short distance in literally every direction.
