Our family of 8 came down to spend grad weekend..........and everything was perfect. This home is just awesome, plenty of room and has that NOLA charm. Charles the landlord, is attentive to detail and made the process easy. Little things like bedding sheets, towels, many TVs and even adding the touch of having Community Coffee (a great NOLA tradition) are high quality and add to the overall home stay. Location is excellent, close to the trolley and an easy 15 min ride from the airport. One eve, we had a number of local friends over and they too were amazed at the beautiful home, the renovations and just the way it was kept. We would come again and highly recommend this property for a vacation in NOLARecommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thanks, Mitch It is so nice for guest and their families like yours to come and stay at my home and say such wonderful things about all of my efforts of detail, that I put into this Beautiful home. This makes me smile from ear to ear when I hear that you all have enjoyed this great city and my nice home as much as you did. Yes the location of my home made this a perfect spot to stay in New Orleans. It is so convenient to EVERYTHING this great City has to offer, including transportation on the Street Car (Trolly) that is only steps from the front door. Please don't hesitate to contact me when you have the desire to come back into our great city for another stay. We will be honored to have you stay with us again. Thanks, Charles

We stayed at this house during Jazz Fest. It was very convenient being close to the Street Car Line, and in-between the Fairgrounds, and the French Quarter. The house is newly renovated... so everything is like new inside the house. It has all the comfort you would expect, and it is very spacious. The backyard could be better but it did not bother us too much, because the neighborhood is quite pleasant, and we chose to hang out in the nice cafes that are within a couple of block from the house. The landlord was very nice. he cares about his house, and the comfort of his guests. We had a great stay!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, girls getaway.

We had a group of eight people stay at this wonderful home. The location is perfect and the trolley ride is convenient to the French Quarter. The pictures on this website DO NOT reflect the appeal of the actual house. The host's intention is to make you very comfortable and he does just that. He provides cleaning suppllies for the kitchen (our group loves to cook), laundry detergent, candies and TV in all bedrooms and both bathrooms as well as the kitchen. There is also a bistro next door for breakfast however, it was not open while we were there. You can not go wrong with this property. It was very comfortable. The only suggestions our group had was to 1) add a bike for those that do not have a car for trips to the grocery store and 2) add some bigger skillets. You will not go wrong renting this home.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, girls getaway.
Owner response: Hi Melissa, Thanks for such an extremely nice review that you have posted about my New Orleans home. I am so glad you and your friends approved of my efforts in making this home away from home for you, so comfortable and enjoyable. This home is truly a fantastic old piece of New Orleans History in one of the best locations in the area, convenient to everything the City has to offer. Please let all of your friends know about this beautiful home and we look forward to seeing you again in the near future. I appreciate the two suggestions at the end of your review and I will look into those items. Thanks and have a Blessed Day.

Having done group trips with friends before where we all stayed in hotels, this was definitely preferable. There was plenty of room for us and we got to spend a lot more time together. The house was in a great location, right next to the street car, and was beautifully remodeled. It had the charm of an older home with the benefits of more modern amenities. There were also several good places to eat within walking distance, as well as a drug store and grocery store nearby. I'd highly recommend staying here.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, girls getaway.
Owner response: Hi Michael, Thanks so much for the great things that you had to say about my New Orleans home. I am so glad that you approved of my efforts in making this home away from home so comfortable for you and your friends. I like to stay in this home from time to time and I tried to make it as close to first class as possible for our mutual comfort, when I renovated it. Thanks so much for coming into town to enjoy this beautiful home and this great city of New Orleans, please come back sometime in the near future. Have a Blessed Day.

This house was a fantastic visit for us. (4 adults) We hopped on the street car each day to the French Quarter and had the time of our lives. Each day we came back to this lovely house and enjoyed a comfortable night's sleep. It is close to great restaurants if you want to eat close to home or had a fantastic kitchen if you want to eat in. The owner was very considerate, having coffe, soap, candy, laundry det, etc. in the house. There is even a grocery store a few bocks away. We could either walk or take the street car to everything we needed, tho there was a fenced in yard for a car. The pictures dont do this house justice. It even has a separate ice maker! It is better and bigger than it looks! Just loved this house. The owner was very helpful and easy to work with. I will stay there every time I am in NOLA.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway.

Our group was lucky enough to find this gem for the Superbowl. The home is beautiful and the four bedrooms are perfect. The kitchen and living area are well appointed and newly remodeled. We had four adults and the living area worked well and the bedrooms were great for privacy, tvs in each one. The owner, Charles, made it even more special. He came to the house to explain how everything worked and gave us recommendations for restaurants and places of interest nearby. Walk out the front door and jump on the street car to get into the quarter. It could not have been better. We would highly recommend this home for any kind of get away.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, girls getaway.
Owner response: I'm sure glad you approved of my efforts of the comfortable appointments throughout the home. I have tried to make this home as comfortable for you as well as for me when I'm away from home and visiting the city. I live about an hour away and like to come to the city just to get away form it all, and relax in COMFORT, and LUXURY, and that is what I have tried to accomplish with this home. Thanks again for visiting and the kind words you wrote earlier, please come back and visit this Beautiful Old Home in New Orleans, on your next vacation to Louisiana.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1923
About the owner: Local self employed married couple. Owner is in the HVAC service business, builder and rental of residential and commercial property.
Why the Owner Chose Mid-City:
This property was purchased in 1923 by the owner's great grandfather because he loved the close proximity to down town and all of the conveniences of the area and right on the Street Car line, and for those same reasons is why I love the old 100+ year old home. That's why I had to completely renovate it and make it more cozy for me and you to stay in the beautiful city of New Orleans. This is my second home when I'm in town.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Easy acess to the French Quarter, Casino, grocery stores and restaurants and did I mention the Street Car line.
