Gorgeous Italianate farmhouse built in 1832 offers stunning country views and tons of historic character with modern amenities. At 4,400 square feet and 10' ceilings, there's also plenty of room. 5 bedrooms, 3 baths, including a beautiful Master Bedroom and attached Master Bath on second floor. We are adding an additional bed in an extra upstairs room in December of 2014 (the house can therefore sleep 12). The huge kitchen/family room combo is THE place to entertain. Cozy den for reading and office with computer for work. Large (16'x32') pool for summer swims, screened-in sun porch for summer sunsets, and 20 scenic acres to roam about. If you love farms, there are six enormous 30'x144' vegetable greenhouses and five acres of vegetables, flowers and herbs. This charming home would make a great place for weekend stays, family and business retreats, or weddings.
The cost for weddings Spring/Summer of 2015: 3 nights in house plus property rental for 100: $3000. 100-150: $3400.
A special weekday rate is available: $800 for Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday nights or $600 for two nights (Sunday and Monday or Monday and Tuesday).
The cleaning deposit is $400. This is 100% refundable if house is respected and maintained.
We now have a 3 night minimum stay requirement for weekends during June, July, and August.
Weekly rate is $1400. You can book an entire week, but please know that customers do come to the farm on Wednesday and Sunday afternoons to the Farm Market. Contact us if you are interested and we will provide more details.
We live in an apartment completely segregated from the house and will be at the farm daily to tend to the needs of the vegetables, but we will not bother guests of the house. We will be available for assistance, however, if you have any questions or issues with your stay.

If house is left in very good condition when you leave, you will receive a check for $400 to thank you for your cleanliness. You can expect a $400 check as long as we can see good effort was taken to leave the house as clean as we left it for you.

Located between Battle Creek and Marshall, the farm is in an ideal spot to just relax and enjoy the beautiful country scenery or go out exploring.
There are several great golf courses in the Battle Creek area, including one just 2 miles west. Binder Park Zoo, just 10 miles away, ranks as one of the top zoos in the country and is a must-see for kids of all ages (and those at heart).
If you'd like to roll the dice, Las Vegas-style gambling is available 3 miles away at Firekeepers Casino.
Historic Downtown Marshall is 5 miles away to the southeast, boasting a great craft brewery and many great restaurants, as well as multiple antique shops. One of the country's best historic home tours takes place the second weekend of September.
The farm itself is located in beautiful farm country on 20-acres of mostly open pasture, surrounded by corn and soybean farms. We have six large high tunnel (unheated greenhouse) structures for growing vegetables year-round.

About the owner: We are vegetable farmers. We sell our produce and at Farmers Markets in Battle Creek and Kalamazoo, through a 150- member CSA Program, online sales, and multiple wholesale buyers. There is 6 acres of vegetables and a two-acre fruit tree orchard.
