My sister and I along with our families rented the house for the weekend and found it to be perfect! We couldn't have asked for a better location and the accommodations were great. We had a great time skiing while others enjoyed visiting nearby attractions as well as Breweries. The owner was so easy to deal with in answering any questions I had. I would definitely like to return next year.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

After driving up in white-out conditions, there was no better feeling in the world than arriving to a freshly plowed driveway, throwing our ski gear in the storage room, claiming one of the many clean, comfortable rooms, and throwing our feet up around the insanely picturesque fireplace in the enormously accomodating living room. Did I use too many modifiers? Not possible. This is a perfect getaway for multiple families or a large group of friends. It's a 3 minute drive to Killington base lodges and I would highly advise stopping at Phat Italian to order some subs for your lunch break. If you are looking for a great apres ski spot, take a long walk or incredibly short drive to Charity's and grab a schooner of Long Trail. Truthfully, the only downside of the house is that when you wake up in the morning and take in the sunlight through the walls of two story windows in the living room, your motivation to hit the 8am lift lines melts away with the crackling of the fire.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks you guys...you were the perfect guests as well and described my feelings exactly. The living room is my favorite room at KnopfSki and I also could spend entire days just watching the snow fall out of the huge windows. See you guys next year! Have a great spring. And congrats on the new baby...you will both make great Uncles!

My group stayed in this house for 2 nights at the end of February ‘13. What an amazing experience!! The house is in a PRIME LOCATION; Only 2 miles from Killington mountain and walking distance to the food market, ski shops, and bars. We had 16 adults in my group and fit everyone very comfortably. The house came equipped with everything you could possibly need! We cooked all of our meals and didn’t run into any issues with not being able to find pots/pans/dishes. The grills on the porch made cooking so much easier and enjoyable! Everything in the house was clean, updated, and fully functional. Ilene, the owner, made the renting process very easy and enjoyable. She was extremely informative and helpful. This house was the perfect fit for our group. I wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else. The only regret I have is not booking a longer trip.. I will be reserving my spots for next season. Cheers!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Matt, your group are welcome to come and stay anytime. We love Killington and we loved having you enjoy our home. The photographs you shared with us are now part of this website and in our familiy journal as well. my personal favorite is the dining room photo...it clearly shows how group friendly our home is. Thank you again. Ilene

Great rental. Came with 2 kids and it was just a lot or house. Plenty of rooms. I like to cook meals when skiing, and the kitchen was stocked with all the pots, pans, knives, utensils you could need. BBQ right off dining room a huge plus. This is a great ski house. Boot and glove drier right in closet. Nintendo game in LR on separate TV so you don't have to stop watching a movie. Plenty of board games. I will be booking my return soon. Just need more people to fill the houseOwner response: Hi Eric, I'm so glad you and your girls had fun. You are right that the house is made to be filled with people. Next time come with family and friends. We would love to have you again. You were certainly the perfect guests. Have a great rest of winter! Ilene

We stayed here for a long weekend skiing trip, and really liked our stay. In fact, this was a perfect "homebase" for 8 adults. The house itself is a charming, welcoming, clean and spacious home. The pictures on VRBO are accurate, but cannot do the house justice. In person it is even more impressive. The bedrooms were very good sizes and gave everyone their own privacy. The 3 full baths were very large, bright and clean. The main floor of the house is open and inviting. The house has every amenity needed to truly make yourself at home. I would absolutely recommend this house to anyone looking for a conveniently located home near Killington ski area, with plenty of room for a large group to relax. Close enough to the center of town and the mountain to enjoy activities, shopping, dining and skiing - but far enough away to relax and appreciate the quiet beauty of VT. Above all, the property owner Illene was very helpful and a pleasure to work with. We were treated like welcome guests from our very first inquiries. We would definitely love to stay at this house again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you so much for that wonderful review! You were my perfect first guests and all of your suggestions, even before arrival are being implemented. We have taken the code off the Internet so that won't be a problem next time. Have a wonderful rest of year and thanks again. Ilene

Manager info
Year Purchased: 1990
About: Born and raised on Long Island but Vermont has been my second home my entire life. I'm a single mom with three amazing kids. We all are lucky enough to live with my parents now, so one big happy family.
Why Killington:
My parents bought this house almost 25 years ago because they were sick of my siblings and I renting or staying in hotels at killington every weekend. We have spent almost every family vacation ever since, at Knopfski, no matter the season.
I learned to ski at Killington and so have my three children. My little one was on skis before she could walk! It's a wonderful and special place for us. I couldn't imagine skiing anywhere else.
The Unique Benefits at this Chalet:
When we found this house the only thing I could say was wow. The cathedral ceiling in the living room with the French doors leading out to the deck was spectacular! The huge stone fireplace made me want to break out the marshmallows and make s'mores. Everything about this house said, come in, take off your boots and relax!
