My family and I stayed for a week. Wonderful experience, away from the hustle and bustle of the "big city". The beach was minutes away by foot, and within a 20 minute drive you could get to another 10+ really nice local beaches. The rooms (and amazing wood-work!) were lovely. My room upstairs had a huge closet complete with shelves and places to put my clothing, shoes, hang swim suits, towels, etc. The huge fan over the bed in combination with cracking the large windows, kept the room pleasantly cool. We stocked the kitchen up with food for the week, and used the stove / toaster oven every morning for breakfast. We didn't see the owners (unless we requested their presence), and the couple times we needed their assistance with something they were quick to assist. The main "entry" room is very large, with a ton of seating capacity. We spent most our evenings here visiting with friends and family, or just relaxing after a day at the beach. Thanks for the wonderful experience, great service and amazing location.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

My stay at Hale Lokahi was wonderful! The beach was only 1 block away and took about 5 min walking. The accomodations were absolutely breathtaking. The house itself is excellently constructed, and there was a wonderful feel of Polynesia. The mountain views were beautiful and all the windows make the house feel very open. The beds were comfortable and I slept like a baby. The owner was very helpful when needed but not at all intrusive. I loved being on this side of the island where it was much more peaceful but still lots to do. I would strongly recommend the Polyynesian Cultural Center!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, girls getaway.
