The first floor has a spacious living room, dining area and modern galley kitchen with refrigerator, stove w/oven, microwave, dishwasher, garbage disposal and pantry. Enjoy the gas grill on the spacious rear deck if you prefer outdoor cooking and dining. There are two roomy bedrooms, cozy reading nook and a modern renovated bathroom with full-size bathtub and shower on the second floor. Both bedrooms have queen sized beds, a comfortable sitting area, dresser drawers and plenty of closet space. There is also a queen-size air bed that fits comfortably in the living room. This property is furnished not only with all the essentials needed for a comfortable stay but also with a diverse collection of folk art, period pieces, rare books and Americana for your enjoyment during your visit. Sit back and watch the comings and goings of Mystic River traffic in comfort from the elevated front veranda or walk across the street to enjoy the riverside Coastal Public Access Area amenities. So close to Mystic’s notable eateries there's little doubt your mouth will water as the kitchens ramp up for lunch and dinner – so be warned. This property has generous off-street parking for two cars or a vehicle and modest trailer for boat enthusiasts wanting to take advantage of the public boat launch across the street. Dockage is also available at several of the nearby marinas.
Mystic is a unique New England village straddling the Mystic River. The portion of the village on the right (west) bank was originally known as Mystic River and is part of the town of Groton CT, the left (east) bank originally known as Mystic Bridge, being part of the town of Stonington CT. Downtown Mystic (River) is comprised of Water Street, West Main Street, Pearl Street and Gravel Street on the Groton side and East Main Street, Holmes Street and Cottrell Street on the Stonington (Mystic Bridge) side. Walking is the best way to get around downtown and all of downtown is within easy walking distance from this property. Browse the shops, pick a restaurant of your liking then find a bench and relax for awhile in Mystic River Park. If you prefer to work off a bit of your gastronomic indulgense, you can easily find rentals for kyaks, canoes and bicycles. Day and dinner cruises up and down the river and Fishers Island Sound are sure to make your Mystic visit a most memorable experience.
Whether you prefer walking, biking, water taxi or shuttle, you are only minutes away from restaurants, shopping, multi-denominational houses of worship, Mystic Seaport Museum and Mystic Aquarium, homebase to Robert Ballard, the famous discoverer of the Titanic. It is a short drive to the historic fishing village of Stonington Borough, Foxwoods/MGM Grand and Mohegan Sun Casinos, Fort Griswold on the Groton Bank, Bluff Point State Park, Haley Farm State park, Barn Island Wild Life Preserve, Watch Hill RI and some of the best ocean beaches on the Atlantic coast.
This propert has easy access from I-95 (Exit 89 or Exit 90). Bradley International Airport (Hartford/Springfield) is approximately a 1hr 20m drive; T.F. Green International (Providence RI) is about a 45-minute drive; Boston is only a 2hr drive. If you're coming by train to New London is but a 15-minute drive; Westerly RI is but a 25-minute drive; If you take the train to Mystic Depot you'll have about a 10-minute walk, but it will undoubtedly take a bit longer as you take in the sites of this historic village.
