Casa Tankah... for Your Perfect Vacation!
Year Purchased: 1999
Why the Owner Chose Tulum
We chose to buy our home in Mexico after my husband & I went there for our honeymoon. Neither of us had been there before and instantly fell in love with the ocean, the sunshine and the people!! We were lucky enough to be at the right place, at the right time!
The Unique Benefits at this House
We are certified scuba divers and my husband is now a SSI & PADI certified Instructor! We love diving, seeing the ruins, (especially in Coba), but we mostly enjoy hanging out on our patio, reading a good book and enjoying our view of the ocean. (Of course a cold Cerveza tastes good too!!!) The great thing is when we bring family or friends down, we are centrally located and close to do anything they might feel like doing!
Owner's Map of Tulum
My husband & I live in Estes Park, Co. My husband owns an engineering firm and a construction company. I clean everything he builds and handle booking our Mexico house. We have 3 children and 3 grandchildren. We have lived in Estes Park for 27 years. We feel we have the best of both worlds, the mountains in Colorado and the ocean in Mexico!!

The house was just as the pictures described--the beach was wonderful and peaceful. We almost never saw anyone walking by, so it felt very private. One can walk along the beach for hours! Tulum is amazing and I really think we found the best location on the coast! The house was quite adequate for us, a bit rustic, but it had everything we needed, and we did not need "fancy" in Mexico, so we were happy and felt we could relax. It was windy, which was very nice--the temperature was perfect in late March! One week just is not enough. It was perfect for our family of 5! We would gladly come back but we would hope to stay for longer!

Mary & Kerry, We just wanted to thank you for sharing your home with us-it was perfect! We loved it and had a fabulous vacation! We snorkeled every day and the snorkeling in front of the casa was fantastic! We also loved snorkeling at Akamul (swimming with giant sea turtles!) and Yal-Ku lagoon was beautiful! We also went to many cenotes and loved them. There was too much cool stuff to mention it all! The house was in a great location and it was so peaceful sitting in front of the casa watching the waves lapping at the shore. The place is perfect and well stocked! Thanks again. We hope to be back again and will most definitely let our friends know about your fabulous casa. Nicole & Ryan

Hi Mary, Thank you for your note. Yes, it was wonderful! Your home and the location was the best. You have decorated your home very lovely. Most of the time we were outside under your patio because it was very pleasant and we could watch the kids snorkel. I really loved your home and how private the location was. Arlene was super nice, as well as, Neri, her family and Pedro.

Hi Mary We just made it back to Colorado, everything was fine it wasn't really busy, kind of nice not to have to fight crowds. Playa de Carmen was a little busier but not bad. We all had a great time. Thanks again and have a great summer. Craig

Hi Mary! We had a wonderful time at Casa Tankah! The weather was great, it was hot but windy so the house felt great and we weren't hot on the beach. It rained one morning but cleared up by 10 AM. We had the perfect mix of activity and leisure...went to the ruins in the morning, beach all afternoon. Another day we snorkeled in the underground Cenotes and the one down the street from you. We met up with a guide at the ruins who took all four of us out for the day, the underground cenotes and the lagoon. We swam with sea turtles and sting rays...amazing! I put his name in the guestbook along with his card. He's a great guy. We ate out twice, once at Blue Sky (great food!). The guys cooked, we girls cleaned up. For the most part, we lounged, ate, drank beer and listened to music...paradise!! Thank you!!! We all talked all weekend about what a perfect spot you have! Thank you for letting us stay there, we can't wait to go back!! Amy

Hola Mary and Kerry! We loved staying at Casa Tankah! It was everything I had hoped it would be...but one week was definitely not long enough for a vacation! The weather was very very hot (as expected) with no rain. We loved your casa and your beach....my favorite view was from the second beach chair from the left.....ahhhh Thanks! Liz and Joel
