Situated on mature grounds on the shores of Lough Sheelin, Peter and Ulla’s old Manor House enjoys a very lovely location and offers a good standard of accommodation (B&B) at a modest price. Bedrooms, which are distinctly continental in style, have telephone, TV, and tea-making facilities. Three have their own conservatories, four have fireplaces (help yourself to logs from the shed).
Peace and relaxation are the great attraction, and there is a fine choice of activities at hand: a private pier offers boats (and engines) for fishermen to explore the lake, or to visit the Golf-Hotel across the lake. There is also safe bathing from a sandy beach and tennis. Ross House manages a professional Equestrian Centre with 35 horses stabled. Hacking and trekking and also instructions on the open sand arena of 50 x 80 m as well as schooling on the x-country-course are on offer.
Ulla cooks for everyone, making packed lunches, sandwiches, and also four-course-Dinner. Children and pets are welcome. Seven Rooms (all en-suite, shower only). |
