My husband and I spent our honeymoon at this gorgeous condo in Sept 2011. We couldn't have asked for a better place! The condo owner Rebecca was great to deal with and really goes out of her way to make guests feel at home from the personally written welcome card and chocolates to the helpful resource book on what to do in the community. The condo was so clean and beautifully decorated. It's in an ideal location as well - a 5 min walk to the shops, a 30 sec walk to the pool, gym and BBQ area, and it's right on the golf course (in fact, the lanai overlooks the golf course). What my husband and I were most impressed by however, was how well equiped the condo was. The kitchen was full of everything you could need: a blender, dishwasher, salad spinner, tupperware for picnics, spices, oil etc. The bathrooms were supplied with suntan lotion, aloe vera, plush towels, body lotion, etc. The those beach bums out there like us, the place came with beach chairs, a cooler, beach matts, beach towels, and plenty of great paperback books (Jurassic Park was my favourite!). I would definitely return to this place and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, comfy, and conveniently located place to stay!

Thank you again Rebecca for the use of your condo. It was every bit as nice as last year. We stayed for a month and didn't really want to leave. The BBQ area is a great place to meet people and learn about new beaches and places to explore. We hope to be able to come back again. We are just back from our three week stay at this condo. This is our second time staying here. As previous reviews note, this condo is immaculately clean and well maintained, very nicely furnished and stocked with everything you could need for a vacation. It is so very nice to have such things as beach chairs, towels, coolers, reusable and insulated grocery bags, etc. and not have to pack or buy these items. The kitchen is exceptionally well stocked as well, right down to blender, good pots and pans (should you want to cook!), lots of dishes, glassware, the all important BBQ tools and even containers for picnics at the beach! There is nothing missing. This is added value when you are renting a condo. One of the nicest features of this unit is the location; close enough to the pool/hot tub and BBQ but far enough away from the noise. Backing onto the golf course is also a great feature and the fact that there is no unit behind allows for privacy and wonderful cooling breezes. Air conditioning, while available, was not required at all during our stay despite the daytime temps in the 80's. A covered parking spot right in front of the building, and by the elevator if required, is another bonus. The owner of this condo is great to deal with. She is honest and forthright, answering questions quickly. I have no hesitation recommending this location for a Big Island vacation rental and will stay at this specific unit yet again. We are just finishing our stay at this condo. I can't say enough about how great everything was. The condo location is near good shopping and a short walk to the beach. Very nice pool and other outdoor facilities. Inside, the furniture and decor is first class. You can find everything you need. A real pleasure!!!! This was our fourth visit to the Big Island and have stayed at a couple of other resorts as well as hotel -- this condo is our favorite. We will be back.

What A Deal!

This unit is ideally located. Of all the condos in the area, this condo complex is located right in the middle of the Queens and Kings shops. Mostly all other condos are not in walking distance. Place was clean and fully furnished. Secured condo and covered parking right next to elevator. Owner is very pleasant to deal with and cooperative. I will recommend this condo to anyone I know who will be staying in that area. Aloha!

A Home away from home.

My husband and I have been to the Big Island and stayed at very many places. This condo is very special because of the new furniture. We walked in this unit and said WOW! We enjoyed watching the golfers on our lanai and to walk to the King Shops, the Queen Shops and A-Bay is close and easy to get to by all kinds of different ways. We are currently in this unit and have totally enjoyed this place. This is the first time that we have stayed at the Fairway Villas and F-21 is special.. We will be back to the Fairway Villas soon.

Big Island Holiday

We had a wonderful stay in Rebecca's condo. So much so that we have already rebooked for the same time in 2011. The condo felt very much like being at home and not in a hotel room. The complex is close to everything and is well set up to use the BBQ and pool, which we did most days. The condo was very well set up with everything you would need to cook or go to the beach. The King and Queen markets were a easy five minute walk with many shops and places to eat or stop for a morning coffee at the Jungles Edge. Golf prices ranged from $50.00 to over 100.00 with none of the courses being crowded. We would recommend a stay here to anyone ,some friends of ours moved in when we left. We may just keep coming back.

We will be looking at a return visit as soon as we can figure out the logistics. I think I have a new favourite island.....and a new favourite condo. Ron and his wife stayed in F-21 Fairway Villas in August 2009. Upon his return, he posted this review on another vacation rental website. The combination of this beautiful condo and it's outstanding location, combine to make this our favorite. I like to cook and appreciated cooking fresh fish every night in the gourmet kitchen. We then would inevitably end up on the lanai enjoying the fresh island breeze. Immaculate South Kohala Location

This condo is so clean we felt the urge not only to remove our shoes but also to wash our feet before entering! Whoever does the maintenance is a gem. Easy walk to "A" Bay, and a ten minute drive to Hapuna and Kauna'oa beaches. Kauna'oa (the beach at the Mauna Kea resort) is perhaps the best beach on the island - some shade, soft sand, usually crystal-clear water, and great snorkelling reefs at both ends. For me, one of the best attributes of the north Kona/south Kohala area is a complete absense of mosquitos. South Kohala gets less than 10 inches of rain a year, so there's no standing water in which mosquitos can breed. The absense of streams also means no run-off into the ocean, hence its normally clarity. There is a food court at the Queen's Shops (an easy walk from the condo) with quite reasonable prices: it has a Subway, a place to get breakfast or lunch for $6-$8, hamburgers etc., so check it out before stocking up at Costco! If you want to explore the island, one base is as good as any, but for a laid back, stress free, relaxing vacation, this is very hard to beat. It is at the top of our "places to return to" list.

My husband and I stayed in this condo for two weeks, just after Christmas. We certainly can echo all the positive comments from others, and can't "outdo" what has already been said. This is a beautifully furnished condo, owned by people who obviously care very much about their second home. It was very clean, and we appreciated the little things that are sometimes absent in other condos. There were adequate paper towels, drawstring garbage bags, a new sponge/scrubber for the kitchen sink, and an orderly arrangement of cleaning supplies. We loved the north facing lanai, which never got too hot to enjoy. We ate almost all of our meals there. Fairway Villas are in an excellent location. My husband is a golfer and took the car to the golf course, while I was able to walk to the beach, shops, etc. We also spent time at Hapuna Beach, which is one of our favorites. We have visited the Big Island many times, so have done much sightseeing. This condo is the place to have a relaxing, idyllic vacation!

We stayed at this lovely condo for a week. We loved the fact that everything you could possibly need was already provided. The complex and grounds were well kept and a even a covered parking stall was provided, which is a must during the summer. We will definitely stay here again when we visit the Big Island.

We stayed in F-21 the last two weeks of May. We were extremely happy we chose this lovely condo. It was so clean and beautifully furnished and decorated with much thought. The grounds are well cared for and it has a great pool. We liked that it had a security gate. It was also nice having the covered parking which kept the car cool. It is by far the best complex for being close to A beach and the shops. We loved eating on the patio daily. It is also a great set up for two couples. Our favorite beach was Mauna Kea which is also great for snorkeling. If you like to snorkel, a must is Honaunau (Place of Refuge) and the Captain Cook Monument Bay (my favorite). We took Sea Quest and they bring you to both. A great tour. We would recommend F-21 and hope to return again. It is beautiful and peaceful. Dave & Ginger Johnson

Wow! Where do we start? The location of Fairway Villas is perfect, just far enough away from the commerce and congestion of Kailua-Kona to really feel secluded and "away from it all" and yet an easy few steps to incredible snorkeling at Anaeho'omalu Bay and great dining and shopping at the Kings' Shops and Queen's Marketplace. A couple of grocery stores within very short drives allow you to stock the refrigerator with food, libations and refreshments, so you can maximize the comfort and convenience of your condo stay. The unit itself, F-21, is fantastic! It looks exactly like the online photographs, but better in person. I haven't stayed at other Fairway Villa units, but I have rented other vacation homes before, and F-21 is at the head of the pack. Simply immaculate, we felt as if we were the very first tenants ever. Decor felt more like island plantation home than beach house, lending a richness and elegance to the stay, particularly with the expanse of the golf course laying out before you when on the lanai, which is a great place to consume those aforementioned supplies. The master bedroom has an incredible view of the stars from the bed, what a rare pleasure that is, and a very comfortable dressing/bathing/shower area. A large walk in closet that I wish I had in my own home, plus double sinks so that we could both perform our daily rituals simultaneously. I loved the glass shower, my wife luxuriated in the large tub. The kitchen is as clean and modern as one could hope for, a spotless black refrigerator, granite counters and cherry wood cabinets feel more like the Ritz-Carlton than island hide away. The dishwasher was reasonably quiet, which is important to me. Complete with overhead fans, cross ventilation from north to south, its just a lovely place to land after all the days' activities. Finally, the pool is close enough that it seems 'right there' yet just far enough away to not be bothered by the sounds of splashing and children playing. You can tell, we liked this place. Perfectly situated in a perfect location, the nightly rental seems silly cheap for what must be one of the best spots on the north Kona coast. The day after we arrived home, we checked the online calendar to start planning our next visit. Its that good. To the owner, we say, "Mahalo". Aloha!

We very much enjoyed our February stay in Fairway Villas F-21. The unit is very nicely decorated and comfortable and spacious. We enjoyed many of our meals on the lanai watching the golfers. We are already looking forward to our return again this next winter.

We stayed at the Fairway Villas, F-21, for a week. When we arrived we were impressed by the property - absolutely beautiful, but we were blown away when we opened the front door of the condo. It's definitely high class and has everything you could need. The location is ideal - close to the pool but not too close! A quick walk down to A Bay, shopping, food - perfect! We enjoyed sipping our drinks out on the lanai and taking in the beauty of the island. We did not want to leave! Thank you for the memories!

We stayed in the property for over a week in January 2007 and did not want to leave. The condo is immaculate, stocked with everything you need, and is located central to everything on the Kona coast. Upscale shopping and restaurants are steps away, and if you somehow get tired of the nearby beaches, the pool (as well the barbecue/picnic area/exercise room) is right outside your door. It was nice to come home to such a nice condo each day. Breakfast on the patio overlooking the golf course was also a daily treat. We'll be back!
