Welcome to The Nautilus, the perfect location for your vacation and plenty of room for the whole family! Three bedrooms, 3.5 baths, two kitchens and one fabulous deck equal a guaranteed good time on the Mid-Cape.
The main part of the house provides an enormous living/dining room combination with window seat, three-story turret, coffered ceiling, gorgeous wood floors, flat screen TV, fully equipped kitchen with walk-in pantry and fireplace.
Upstairs you will find two bedrooms en suite; the master bedroom is 17' x 16' with a cathedral ceiling and fan; it offers a king size bed, 14' x 8' bathroom with double sink, tub and separate shower. The other bedroom is 14 x 14 with queen bed, a beamed cathedral ceiling bath and walk-in closet, with plenty of room to store luggage during your stay.
Between the two bedrooms is the turret room with day bed. The third bedroom is located on the first floor on the west wing of the house and features a queen bed. This side of the house offers privacy with another full bath, complete kitchen with stainless appliances and a sitting room.
We offer bath towels, beach towels and sheets for your use or you may choose to bring your own. There is a washer and dryer in the 1/2 bath off the kitchen.
The Nautilus is ideal for family reunions, wedding party guests, girls’ shopping weekend, guys’ fishing get-together or just a family vacation at a very special place. With 3.5 baths, there is no waiting to get ready in the morning. Two fully-equipped kitchens means cooking that special holiday, family reunion meal or lobster/clam bake can be done with ease.
Outdoors is where it's at: Both sides of the house open to a HUGE 22' x 22' deck, where you will find outdoor dining table with umbrella, plenty of seating and an outdoor shower to wash the sand from your feet after a visit to the many beaches nearby. The back yard is perfect for kids of all ages - big enough for a wiffleball game or horseshoes and private enough to sit and relax in the adirondack chairs and enjoy the mature plantings with changing colors throughout the seasons.
There are eleven salt water beaches and four fresh water beaches in the town of Yarmouth and weekly passes are available for purchase at Yarmouth Town Hall. Lots to do nearby - The Zooquarium, Skull Island, mini-golf, Taylor-Bray Farm, Bonkerz Party Zone, Cape Cod Children's Museum, Cape Cod Museum of Natural History, seal and whale watches, Wellfleet Drive-In, and so much more.
There are 2-3 'Town Way to Water' beaches within walking distance - these are small, neighborhood beaches on Bass River that are for free public use, but do not allow for parking.
Golfers...there are two town golf courses, (one just a few blocks away) five golf courses within a 5 mile radius and thirteen courses within 10 miles of the house. Bring your boat! Plenty of room in the yard for a trailered boat and five boat launches in town.
Shoppers will appreciate the many gift, antique and specialty shops that line Route 28 - and many are within walking distance to the house. Cuffys! Christmas Tree Shops! Outlets! So many shops to please all. Dozens of art galleries on the Cape, too. The Cultural Center of Cape Cod is about 2/10 mile away and offers varied exhibits, events, wine tastings, dancing, music, etc.
There are too many restaurants to list, but within a 3 mile radius we have: Captain Parker's, Seafood Sam's, Kevin's Seafood, Gerardi's Cafe, The Yarmouth House, Acapulco's, Kreme and Kone, O'Shea's, Hearth and Kettle, just to name a few. The Riverway Lobster House and Doyles are right around the corner and of course, Dunkin' Donuts, also right around the corner.
Our beautiful home was built in 1820 and is the former residence of Captain Samuel Farris, a sea captain and well known name in Cape Cod history. The home has three distinct architectural styles; Victorian, Georgian and Greek Revival and was once a working farm. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
We wish you the vacation of your life at The Nautilus!
