Topped it all off!
A bunch of us stayed here for a long weekend and loved it. Being city dwellers who work and live each day in close proximity to others, we all appreciated the vastness of the location, loved the freedom and privacy on offer and the splendorous vista. It was so refreshing to trade pavements and highways for nature and stay put for a few days in a very comfortable and stylish abode that is unique and stands out from other rentals on offer. We all agreed this experience was excellent value for our money and we’re all keen to re-book for the next city escape.

Five Stars!Guest comment entered by owner
John & Christine were extremely helpful, friendly and warm and looked after our accommodations superbly. They were such a pleasure to work with. This house is in a beautiful, peaceful setting and is above standard in every way. The little details make a big difference! It is also an extremely spacious place to enjoy some down time in. Watching the Southern hemisphere stars from the spa at night was an amazing feature. Five stars!

Lovely, peaceful holidayGuest comment entered by owner
Lovely, peaceful holiday
We thoroughly enjoyed our Easter break at the Top House. The setting is beautiful and house was lovely - well equipped and spacious with all mod cons. It was great to have all the essentials there (we especially enjoyed the homemade plum jam!). Highlight of the holiday was the fantastic spa overlooking native trees. It's very close to Cambridge but feels like you're well out in the country. Thanks for the holiday!.

Year Purchased: 2012
About the owner: Hi. We are John and Christine Erkkila and we are proud to bring you the Top House Cambridge. So named because it is at the very top of our drystock farm. When the opportunity to purchase our neighbours' home came up last year, we couldn't resist buying it to have as visitor accommodation. This way we can share the restoration work we are doing on the farm, and to the 280 acres of native bush there. We have a long way to go, but have already completed huge projects to fence the native bush, to exclude grazing stock, created a wetland and pond as a flooding buffer, and planted over 12,000 new native trees.
Why the Owner Chose Cambridge:
We have set up the Top House specifically for visitors. Each bedroom has an ensuite, plus there is another powder room. The 2 living areas make sure everyone has their space, and the hot tub on the deck is just perfect for drinking in the view and ever changing light of the Waikato basin. Free wifi, fireplace etc etc - all the facilities you want are there, in a beautiful NZ setting.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
* close to everywhere in the Waikato so perfect as home base for a week or two * we have created suggested itineraries with all the local knowledge you need to get the best deals * native birds visit the garden every day, and you can walk on the farm or in the native bush at your leisure
